Chapter 378 I am pregnant, not disabled!

Chapter 378 I am pregnant, not disabled!

The city lights in the night passed by the car window like fireflies.

Fu Linghe gripped the steering wheel tightly with both hands, his knuckles turning slightly white from the force.

He drove for an hour instead of half an hour on weekdays, always keeping the speed below 40 miles per hour.

"Actually, there's no need to drive so slowly, a normal speed will be enough." Yun Zheng said softly, her fingers unconsciously stroking the seat belt.

Fu Linghe's eyes were fixed on the road ahead. "Hold on tight, there's a speed bump."

He whispered a warning, then slowly drove over the small bump at a speed almost stopping.

There was almost no vibration in the car body, and it was as smooth as if it was driving on smooth ice.

Yun Zheng couldn't help but chuckle, "If you drive like this, the cars behind you will honk their horns."

Sure enough, a few impatient horn sounds came from behind.

Fu Linghe turned a deaf ear and turned on the turn signal ten seconds in advance when changing lanes. He checked the rearview mirror three times before slowly moving the steering wheel.

"Safety first." He said briefly. When he glanced at Yun Zheng's pale face in the rearview mirror, his brows immediately furrowed. "Are you feeling unwell?"

Yun Zheng shook her head. "Just a little tired."

She gently placed her hand on her lower abdomen, which was still as flat as before, but was already nurturing two little lives.

Fu Linghe's gaze stayed on her hand for a second, and his Adam's apple rolled.

"We'll be home soon." He said in a low voice, but slowed down the car.

Yun Zheng: “…”

At this snail’s pace, it will take at least 40 minutes to get home!!!

Sure enough, it was an hour later when they both got home.

The car finally drove into the villa garage.

Fu Linghe got out of the car almost as soon as he parked it. He quickly walked around to the passenger seat and carefully helped Yun Zheng unbuckle her seat belt.

He put his arm through her knees and carefully carried her out of the car.

"I really can walk by myself." Yun Zheng protested, her cheeks slightly hot from the man's excessive care.

Fu Linghe did not answer, but made his position clear with his actions. He held her and walked straight to the elevator, not even letting her take a step.

The lights in the villa were on. The servants had already received the news and were waiting there.

Seeing Fu Linghe carrying Yun Zheng in, everyone congratulated him in unison, "Congratulations, sir, congratulations, madam!"

Fu Linghe nodded slightly, and continued walking, "Prepare some fresh food and send it to the bedroom."

He paused, then added, "A double portion."

In the bedroom, Fu Linghe gently placed Yun Zheng on the bed, then knelt on one knee and took off her shoes with his own hands.

His movements were so gentle as if he was handling something fragile, even carefully adjusting the tightness of the straps.

"Fu Linghe." Yun Zheng couldn't help but reach out and stroke his silver-gray hair. "You don't have to be like this. I'm pregnant, not disabled."

He raised his head, his obsidian eyes filled with complex emotions.

"I know." He whispered, but still stubbornly put the pillow in her place, dimmed the lights, and tested the water temperature at the bedside.

The servants quickly brought the food, including porridge, side dishes, steamed egg custard, and a few exquisite snacks.

Fu Linghe took the tray himself and waved for others to leave.

"Eat something?" He sat on the edge of the bed, scooped a spoonful of steamed egg and blew it gently to cool it down.

The smell of food wafted into Yun Zheng's nose, and she suddenly felt nauseous.

She suddenly covered her mouth and her face turned pale in an instant.

Fu Linghe immediately put down the bowl and grabbed the trash can beside the bed. "Zheng Zheng?"

Yun Zheng forced herself to shake her head, but the next second she couldn't help but dry heave.

She bent down, her stomach cramping violently, but she couldn't vomit anything out, only acid kept rising up.

Fu Linghe held her shoulders firmly with one hand and gathered her long hair with the other.

"Take a deep breath," he whispered, his voice filled with panic. "Slow down..."

After the dry heaves finally subsided, Yun Zheng leaned back weakly on the pillow, a thin layer of cold sweat already on her forehead.

Fu Linghe gently wiped her cheek with a wet towel, frowning, "Would you like some water?"

Yun Zheng nodded and took small sips of the warm water he handed her.

The water temperature was just right, neither hot nor cold, and it was obvious that he had carefully adjusted it.

"Try this?" Fu Linghe changed to a bowl of porridge and scooped half a spoonful. "Just eat one bite."

The aroma of rice porridge penetrated into Yun Zheng's nose, and her stomach churned again.

She pushed Fu Linghe's hand away and rushed to the trash can, and this time she finally vomited.

She vomited out the few mouthfuls of food she had managed to eat at noon. The stomach acid burned her throat, and the uncomfortable feeling made her cry.

"Zheng Zheng..." Fu Linghe's voice was filled with unprecedented helplessness.

He steadied the trash can with one hand and patted her back gently with the other, controlling the strength just right.

Yun Zheng vomited until her whole body was shaking, and finally she even vomited bile, with a bitter taste in her mouth.

She collapsed in Fu Linghe's arms, breathing rapidly and her eyes red.

Fu Linghe gently wiped the corners of her mouth with a towel soaked in warm water.

"Are you still feeling uncomfortable?" he asked in a low, hoarse voice.

Yun Zheng shook her head weakly, but started retching again when he tried to feed her some water.

This time, his stomach was completely empty, and he could only cramp in pain.

Fu Linghe's face was even paler than hers.

He quickly dialed the doctor's number, turned on the speakerphone and put it aside, while his hands kept patting Yun Zheng's back.

"Morning sickness is normal," the doctor's voice came over the loudspeaker. "Especially for twins, whose hormone levels are higher, the reaction will be more intense..."

"But she couldn't eat anything," Fu Linghe interrupted him, his voice tense. "She was vomiting so much that she couldn't even drink water."

"You could try ginger ale, or soda crackers..."

Fu Linghe had already taken out another mobile phone and was quickly recording the doctor's advice, while at the same time hugging Yun Zheng tighter in his arms.

She could feel his heart beating fast and hard, his chest rising and falling with every breath.

After hanging up the phone, Fu Linghe immediately ordered the kitchen to prepare ginger water and soda crackers.

He went to the bathroom and wrung out a hot towel and put it on Yun Zheng's forehead.

"Are you feeling better?" he asked softly, his fingertips gently combing her sweat-soaked hair.

Yun Zheng forced a smile, "It's okay, the doctor said it's normal..."

Before he could finish his words, he started retching again.

Fu Linghe clenched his fists and then unclenched them, as if he was trying hard to restrain something.

After a while, the maid brought ginger water. He tasted the temperature himself before feeding it to Yun Zheng.

"Just a small sip," he coaxed, his voice unnaturally gentle, "okay?"

Yun Zheng drank two sips with difficulty, but her stomach immediately started churning again.

She curled up in pain, buried her face in Fu Linghe's chest, and trembled silently.

Fu Linghe's hand hung in the air, and finally landed gently on the top of her head.

"No," he said hoarsely, "We don't want to eat anymore."

After tossing and turning all night, Yun Zheng finally fell into a deep sleep exhausted.

Fu Linghe, however, was not sleepy at all. He leaned against the head of the bed, the light from his cell phone screen reflected on his tense face.

The search records are full of "how to relieve morning sickness", "precautions during pregnancy with twins", "nutritional supplements in early pregnancy" and so on.

At three o'clock in the morning, Yun Zheng moved uneasily in her sleep.

Fu Linghe immediately put down his phone and leaned over to check.

Her brows were furrowed and her lips were slightly chapped from dehydration.

Fu Linghe dipped a cotton swab in warm water and gently moistened her lips.

"Fu Linghe..." Yun Zheng murmured in a half-asleep state.

"I'm here," he responded immediately, his fingers gently smoothing the wrinkles between her brows.

Yun Zheng opened her eyes slightly and saw his red eyes and furrowed brows in the dim light of the night light.

She reached out her hand weakly and touched his cheek. "Why aren't you sleeping yet?"

Fu Linghe grabbed her hand, put it to his lips and gave it a gentle kiss.

"I can't sleep, so you go to sleep," he whispered. "I'll stay with you."

Only after Yun Zheng fell asleep again did Fu Linghe lie down carefully.

He kept his distance from her, his arms vaguely around her sides, but he didn't dare to actually touch her abdomen.

Yun Zheng felt the warmth beside her in a daze. She opened her eyes slightly and found that Fu Linghe was half hanging on the edge of the bed in an extremely awkward posture, afraid that he would crush her.

The moonlight shone through the gaps in the curtains onto his tired profile, outlining a tense outline.

"You will fall like this." Yun Zheng said softly, her voice a little hoarse from retching.

Fu Linghe opened his eyes immediately, his obsidian eyes shining brightly in the night.

He subconsciously reached for the water glass on the bedside table and asked, "Would you like some water?"

Yun Zheng shook her head and moved to the other side of the bed to make more space for him.

Fu Linghe hesitated for a moment, and finally lay down carefully, but his body was still stiff.

"The doctor said morning sickness usually subsides after three months..."

He suddenly spoke in a low voice, "I've contacted the nutritionist team in City R and will be waiting at Tanxiyuan tomorrow."

Yun Zheng opened her eyes slightly wide in the darkness, "There's no need to mobilize so many troops."

"Also," Fu Linghe continued, as if he hadn't heard her, "on tomorrow's return flight, we'll have the most professional medical team accompanying you. We'll definitely make sure nothing happens to you or your baby."

His voice was calm, but Yun Zheng could feel his slightly trembling fingers under the sheets.

She gently held his hand and found that his palm was cold and wet.

"Fu Linghe," she called softly, "look at me."

Fu Linghe turned his head, his eyes glowing unnaturally red in the moonlight.

Yun Zheng's heart trembled, and she suddenly realized how fragile this man who was so powerful in the business world was at the moment.

"I'm fine," she said, pulling his hand to her belly. "The babies and I are fine."

Fu Linghe's palm stiffened for a moment, then gently covered it there, feeling the pulse of the two tiny lives.

His Adam's apple rolled a few times, and he suddenly leaned over and carefully held her in his arms, but he didn't dare to use force.

"I'm scared." He whispered in her ear, his voice trembling more than ever before.

These three words were like a key, opening the softest part of Yun Zheng's heart.

She gently stroked his silver-gray hair, feeling his suppressed breathing.

"I know," she whispered. "Don't be afraid. We'll embrace our new identities together."

At first, it was Mr. Fu who coaxed his wife to sleep, but later it became Miss Yun who coaxed Mr. Fu.
