Chapter 389 First Prenatal Checkup
"Are you tired?" Fu Linghe asked softly, combing Yun Zheng's long hair with his fingers.
Yun Zheng shook her head and was about to say no, but she couldn't help but yawned, "A little bit."
When she woke up and didn't see Fu Linghe, all her sleepiness disappeared instantly and she got up.
If Fu Linghe was around, she would probably be able to take a nap after waking up.
She looked up at Fu Linghe and said, "Mom, Dad, and Grandpa and Grandma came here so early. They must not have had enough rest."
Fu Linghe chuckled. "They're so excited they can't sleep. Ever since I found out you were pregnant, Mom has been sending me over a dozen messages every day, asking about your situation."
A smile appeared on Yun Zheng's lips.
Before she became pregnant, the elders of the Fu family treated her like their own daughter, and after she became pregnant, they doted on her like the apple of their eye.
"Let's go." Fu Linghe suddenly bent down, put one hand through her knees, supported her back with the other hand, and easily picked her up sideways.
"Ah!" Yun Zheng cried softly, subconsciously wrapping her arms around his neck, "What are you doing?"
"I'll take you upstairs for a nap." Fu Linghe strode towards the stairs with steady steps. "The doctor said pregnant women need plenty of sleep."
Yun Zheng leaned on his strong chest and could hear his strong heartbeat.
He still had the fresh scent of someone who had showered after a morning run, mixed with a hint of aftershave, that familiar and comforting scent.
"I can walk on my own..." she protested softly, her cheeks heating up slightly.
Fu Linghe lowered his head and kissed her forehead gently, "I just like hugging you, Madam, please satisfy my little hobby."
The light from the stairs poured through the French windows, casting mottled shadows on the two people.
Fu Linghe took every step steadily.
"Fu Linghe, have I gained weight again?" Yun Zheng hugged the man's neck, looked up at him, and her tone was a little nervous.
Fu Linghe paused, a faint smile gradually appearing on the corner of his lips, "Yeah."
Yun Zheng's expression froze, and the next second she heard a man's voice coming from above her head, "You're holding my whole world in your arms. How can it not be heavy?"
Yun Zheng gently punched his chest, and the gloom on her face disappeared!
Entering the bedroom, Fu Linghe gently placed her on the bed.
Just as Yun Zheng was about to adjust her position, he was already kneeling beside the bed, taking off her slippers.
"I can do it myself..." Yun Zheng wanted to bend down, but Fu Linghe held her shoulders.
"Don't move." His voice was gentle but unyielding, his fingers deftly unbuttoning her coat. "Let me help you."
Yun Zheng looked at his focused profile and felt a warm feeling in her heart.
After taking off her coat, Fu Linghe helped her adjust the height of the pillow and pulled the thin and soft down quilt over her.
Every movement is so meticulous and skillful that it makes people feel distressed.
"Would you like some water?" he asked, pushing the strands of hair away from her forehead.
Yun Zheng shook her head and suddenly felt sleepy.
Perhaps it was because she was back in her familiar bed, or perhaps it was because Fu Linghe was by her side, but she felt inexplicably sleepy.
Fu Linghe seemed to notice her sleepiness and whispered, "Go to sleep, I'll stay here with you."
He was about to get up to get his laptop when Yun Zheng grabbed his wrist and asked, "Want to sleep with me?"
Fu Linghe raised his eyebrows, "Now?"
"Yeah." Yun Zheng moved to the side, making half of her bed available. "You got up so early for a morning run, you must not have gotten enough sleep."
Fu Linghe looked at her expectant eyes and couldn't refuse.
He quickly took off his outer clothes and lay down beside her in just a white cotton T-shirt.
The mattress sank slightly, and Yun Zheng immediately leaned over like a little animal seeking warmth.
"Be careful with your stomach." Fu Linghe reminded her, but his arms had already skillfully wrapped around her shoulders, allowing her to snuggle in his arms in the most comfortable position.
Yun Zheng put her face against his chest and took a deep breath.
The aura of Fu Linghe always made her feel at ease. It was her own safe haven.
Fu Linghe's hand gently covered her lower abdomen.
His palms were warm and dry, gently caressing her abdomen through her pajamas.
Yun Zheng leaned her head against the man's chest. Suddenly, she seemed to think of something and couldn't help but say, "Didn't my parents mention the engagement party today..."
"Don't worry about the engagement party. I'm here. Whether we can hold it or not depends on your physical condition after your prenatal checkup next week. If things aren't going well, we can wait until after the baby is born."
Fu Linghe lowered his head and kissed her on the forehead, comforting her softly.
Yun Zheng buried her face in his chest and rubbed it gently. "Actually...it's okay not to have an engagement party. I think it's just a formality, not necessary."
Upon hearing this, Fu Linghe immediately stood up and looked at her with a frown. "It's okay to postpone it, but we can't not do it."
His tone was unusually firm, and he gently lifted her chin with his fingers, allowing her to look directly into his eyes.
"Zheng Zheng, I still say the same thing. All our orders are messed up, but we must have everything we need."
"Okay, I won't disturb your rest." Fu Linghe reached out and rubbed her little head. "Go to sleep quickly. I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay here with you."
Yun Zheng wanted to say something, but Fu Linghe gently pressed his index finger against her lips.
His deep eyes were filled with undeniable tenderness. "Be good, close your eyes."
The sunlight filtered through the gauze curtains, casting tiny spots of light on the bed sheets. Fu Linghe adjusted his posture so that Yun Zheng could lean completely in his arms.
Her long eyelashes cast a small shadow under her eyes, and her breathing gradually became even.
Fu Linghe gazed at her peaceful sleeping face, his fingertips carefully tracing the contours of her cheek.
She has had severe morning sickness these days, and her face seems to be a few inches smaller than before she became pregnant.
His eyes fell on her still flat belly, where their baby was growing.
The phone vibrated on the bedside table, and work email reminders from Assistant Qi kept popping up.
Fu Linghe glanced at the person sleeping in his arms and quietly turned his phone to silent mode.
Ever since Yun Zheng became pregnant, he has handed over most of the work to Mr. Fu and only interferes with the most important decisions.
In her dream, Yun Zheng unconsciously snuggled into his arms, her hair brushing across his chin, carrying a faint scent of jasmine.
A corner of the curtain was lifted by the breeze, and Fu Linghe reached out and pulled the quilt up to cover Yun Zheng's exposed shoulders.
She grumbled, nuzzling her cheek against his chest before falling back into sleep.
During the following period of time, Fu Yanze took over all the company's affairs as promised.
Fu Linghe also had a rare day off, so he spent time with Yun Zheng.
Time flies when I spend every day with Yun Zheng.
In the blink of an eye, a week passed and soon it was Yun Zheng's prenatal check-up day.
Yun Zheng woke up in the man's warm embrace.
She opened her eyes slightly and found that her whole body was held in Fu Linghe's arms. His arm was firmly placed under her neck, and the other hand was gently placed on her waist, forming a protective posture.
"Awake?" Fu Linghe's voice came from above his head, hoarse from waking up in the morning.
He lowered his head and placed a kiss on her hair. "It's only seven o'clock. Why don't you sleep a little longer?"
Yun Zheng shook her head and looked up at him. "Isn't there a prenatal checkup today? I can't sleep."
Fu Linghe's fingertips stroked her cheek, his eyes full of tenderness. "Then I'll ask the kitchen to prepare breakfast. You lie down for another ten minutes."
As he spoke, he got out of bed, took out his cell phone and whispered to the housekeeper to prepare a nutritious meal for the pregnant woman.
The sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains, outlining golden lines on the bed sheets.
Yun Zheng felt inexplicably at ease listening to his strong heartbeat.
Ever since he found out she was pregnant with twins, Fu Linghe has taken even better care of her.
When I went downstairs, a delicious breakfast was already served in the restaurant.
The vegetable porridge specially prepared by the chef was steaming hot, and the whole wheat sandwiches were cut into small pieces that were easy to eat. Next to it was a beautifully arranged fruit platter and warm nut milk.
"I asked the kitchen to make it according to the doctor's recipe," Fu Linghe pulled out a chair for her, "try it and see if it suits your taste."
Yun Zheng sat down at the dining table and found that every food was acceptable to her during her recent morning sickness period.
Fu Linghe even remembered her recent changes in taste clearly.
After breakfast, Fu Linghe began to pack the items she would bring for the prenatal checkup.
Yun Zheng couldn't help but smile as she watched him carefully checking the list.
The way he prepared the prenatal checkup package was more careful than when he handled a multi-million dollar contract.
"Medical insurance card, medical records, thermos, snacks, thin jacket..." Fu Linghe counted them one by one and stuffed a bag of plums into the bag. "The doctor said you can suck one during morning sickness."
When going out, Fu Linghe insisted that Yun Zheng wear flat shoes, and even squatted down to tie her shoelaces himself.
His fingers moved nimbly between the shoelaces, his movements as gentle as if he were handling fragile items.
In the hospital, Qin Qingyu, the obstetrician and gynecologist sent by the Mo family, had been waiting for a long time.
This top expert from Country A is the head of the medical team specially arranged by the Mo family. Her white coat makes her look cool and elegant.
"Mr. Fu, Ms. Yun." Qin Qingyu nodded slightly. "Let's do a routine checkup first, and then review the baby's development."
In the B-ultrasound room, Qin Qingyu operated the instrument skillfully.
Two clear images of the gestational sac soon appeared on the screen, and "the baby has obviously grown a lot bigger than the last time I checked."
"They're developing well," Qin Qingyu said in a calm and professional voice. "Both fetuses have strong heartbeats, and all indicators are within normal range."
She pointed to the data on the screen and said, "This growth rate is already very good."
Fu Linghe held Yun Zheng's hand tightly, his eyes never leaving the screen.
Although he knew they were twins, he was still shocked every time he saw those two little lives.
Qin Qingyu checked a few more indicators and suddenly frowned slightly. "Miss Yun's progesterone level has dropped slightly compared to last time. She needs to adjust her nutrition plan."
She turned to Fu Linghe and said, "I'll work with the nutritionist to re-plan my diet. You should pay special attention to rest during this period."
Fu Linghe immediately became nervous, "Is there any risk?"
"It's just normal fluctuations," Qin Qingyu reassured him, "Twin pregnancies naturally require more attention. Follow my plan and there won't be any problems."
After the inspection, Qin Qingyu personally escorted them to the elevator and handed Fu Linghe a detailed list of precautions.
"Please feel free to contact me if anything happens," she emphasized. "The Mohist medical team is on call 24 hours a day."
On the way back, Fu Linghe drove even slower than when he came.
