Chapter 405 Cen Lian is getting married!

Chapter 405 Cen Lian is getting married!

The early morning sunlight poured into the bedroom through the gauze curtains, and Yun Zheng woke up in Fu Linghe's arms.

His breath was even and warm, caressing the top of her hair.

Yun Zheng raised her head slightly, looking at Fu Linghe's relaxed profile as he slept soundly, and couldn't help but reach out to smooth his slightly furrowed brows.

"Madam, are you peeking at me?" Fu Linghe suddenly spoke, his voice hoarse from waking up in the morning, but his eyes were still closed.

Yun Zheng smiled and poked his cheek. "How could I be peeking? I was clearly watching openly."

Fu Linghe then opened his eyes, his dark pupils like melted honey in the morning light.

He tightened his arms and pulled Yun Zheng closer to him. "Sleep a little longer? You need plenty of sleep now."

Yun Zheng was about to answer when the phone on the bedside table suddenly vibrated.

She reached out to grab it, but Fu Linghe took it for her first and glanced at the screen. "It's Miss Cen."

"An An?" Yun Zheng was a little surprised and swiped the answer button. "So early?"

"Zheng Zheng! Which planet did you and President Fu elope to?" Cen Li'an's energetic voice came from the other end of the line. "I went to your house yesterday to deliver the invitation, and the housekeeper said you went to the beach villa half a month ago!"

Yun Zheng put her phone on speakerphone and placed it next to her pillow. "We're getting moldy staying at home. Let's move somewhere else for a few days."

"An An, what invitation did you just mention?"

"Of course it's my wedding invitation!" Cen Lian'an's voice rose an octave. "You must come back next Saturday! Otherwise, our friendship will be overturned."

Yun Zheng sat up suddenly, and Fu Linghe immediately held her waist to prevent her from moving too violently. "What did you say? You're getting married? Next week?"

She exchanged a surprised look with Fu Linghe, "Why are you so anxious?"

There was a sudden silence on the other end of the phone for a few seconds, and then Cen Li'an said in a deliberately relaxed tone, "Oh, I'm really eager to get married! I finally met someone like Jiang Chenyu who is so completely compatible with me. I have to act quickly, because I'm afraid he will regret it!"

Yun Zheng knew her best friend too well and immediately noticed the awkwardness in her words. "An An, tell the truth."

"That's the truth!" Cen Lian'an's voice suddenly became quieter. "Well... wait until you come back and we meet, and then we'll talk about it slowly! Hang up!"

The call was hung up in a hurry. Yun Zheng held the phone, frowned slightly, and her fingertips unconsciously tapped the edge of the phone.

Fu Linghe reached out and smoothed her brows. "What's wrong?"

"Something's wrong." Yun Zheng shook her head. "An An and Dr. Jiang are being too hasty. Even if she's desperate to get married, she wouldn't skip the engagement party. Shouldn't they just hold the wedding banquet?"

Fu Linghe reached out and took her phone and placed it on the bedside table. With his other hand, he gently massaged her shoulders. "Jiang Chenyu didn't mention it to me either."

"I have to go back." Yun Zheng said as she was about to get up, but Fu Linghe gently held her down.

"There's no rush." He glanced at the rising sun outside the window. "Have breakfast first. I'll arrange the return trip." He leaned over and kissed Yun Zheng on the forehead. "You can't go hungry now."

Yun Zheng nodded and watched Fu Linghe's back as he walked towards the cloakroom.

As he walked, he took out his cell phone and dialed a number, his voice was low, but he could still hear him making arrangements for his return trip.

He always arranges everything perfectly.

An hour later, Yun Zheng changed into a comfortable cotton and linen dress, and Fu Linghe specially selected a pair of flat shoes to help her put on.

In the restaurant, the chef has prepared a nutritionally balanced breakfast: whole wheat toast, boiled eggs, fresh fruit and a glass of warm milk.

"Eat more," Fu Linghe spread jam on the toast and handed it to her. "It will take three hours to get back."

Yun Zheng took the toast and took a bite, but couldn't taste anything.

After breakfast, the servants had almost packed their luggage.

Fu Linghe opened the passenger door, placed one hand on the edge of the roof, and waited until Yun Zheng was seated firmly before gently closing the door.

He walked around to the driver's seat, but did not start the car immediately. Instead, he adjusted the angle of the seat first.

"Is this comfortable?" he asked sideways, his fingers lightly touching the cushion behind Yun Zheng's waist.

Yun Zheng nodded and watched Fu Linghe turn up the air conditioner temperature and turn the air outlet away from her.

These subtle cares have become his habit, and they always warm her heart.

"Don't make the seat belt too tight." Fu Linghe checked it one last time before starting the engine.

After she became pregnant, Fu Linghe replaced the passenger seat belt with a special seat belt for pregnant women, which not only ensures safety but also does not squeeze the belly.

The car slowly drove out of the villa area and drove along the coastline.

The morning sun shines on the sea, and golden spots of light rise and fall with the waves.

Yun Zheng rolled down the car window and let the salty sea breeze blow on her cheeks.

"Is it cold?" Fu Linghe asked immediately, his eyes still focused on the road.

"It's not cold." Yun Zheng smiled and shook her head, but still saw Fu Linghe reach out and raise the car window a little, leaving only a gap for ventilation.

The car turned into high speed and accelerated smoothly.

Fu Linghe's driving skills are excellent and he can hardly feel the bumps.

Yun Zheng leaned back in her chair, watching the scenery passing by outside the window, her eyelids gradually becoming heavy.

"Go get some sleep." Fu Linghe's voice was as soft as a feather. "I'll call you when we get there."

Yun Zheng responded vaguely and adjusted her posture.

At some point, her head slowly tilted to one side and rested on Fu Linghe's right shoulder.

Fu Linghe immediately slowed down the car, released his right hand from the steering wheel, gently held her head to prevent it from shaking, and then continued driving with one hand.

The sunlight shone through the car window onto Yun Zheng's eyelashes, casting a small shadow under her eyes.

Fu Linghe would turn his head to look at her from time to time, and the corners of his mouth would unconsciously rise.

After becoming pregnant, Yun Zheng tired more easily than usual, and now she looked like a defenseless child while sleeping.

The car passed the toll booth and entered the main road of the highway.

Fu Linghe turned on cruise control to make driving easier.

His right hand was always in front of Yun Zheng to prevent any possible sudden braking that would make her uncomfortable.

The three-hour drive passed in silence.

As the sun began to set and the outline of the capital city in the distance gradually became clear, Yun Zheng moved slightly and let out a confused moan.

"Hmm..." She rubbed her eyes, her eyelashes fluttering as she opened them. "Where are we?"

Fu Linghe's hands immediately returned to the steering wheel, and he said softly, "We're almost home."

Yun Zheng sat up and found that her coat was covered with Fu Linghe's suit jacket, which still had a faint scent of cedar on it.

She looked out the window and saw that the lights on both sides of the highway had been turned on, like two winding bands of light guiding the way home.

"I slept for so long?" Yun Zheng adjusted her hair a little embarrassedly, "Why didn't you wake me up?"

Fu Linghe chuckled softly, "Seeing you were sleeping so soundly, I couldn't bear to wake you up."

He took the thermos from the cup holder and handed it to her. "Drink some water."

Yun Zheng took the cup and found the water temperature was just right, neither hot nor cold.

She took a sip and noticed that Fu Linghe's right wrist moved stiffly, then she realized that he might have been maintaining the same posture.

"Are your hands sore?" She held his wrists lovingly and kneaded them gently.

Fu Linghe shook his head. "It's okay."

But his eyes betrayed him, and Yun Zheng knew that he was not good at admitting his discomfort.

The car drove into the city and neon lights began to decorate the night.

Yun Zheng looked out the window at the familiar street scene and suddenly remembered something. "Should we go directly to An An's place?"

"Let's go home first." Fu Linghe turned on the turn signal and turned into a tree-lined avenue. "You need to rest. It won't be too late to visit Miss Cen tomorrow."

Yun Zheng wanted to retort, but she yawned instead. Fu Linghe was right; she wasn't fully awake yet.

"Okay," she compromised, "I'll go find An An early tomorrow morning."

Fu Linghe nodded in agreement, and the car drove into the gate of Fu's house.

The housekeeper and Wu Ma had been waiting at the door for a long time, and immediately came over when they saw the car.

"Master, Madam, welcome home." The butler respectfully opened the car door. "Dinner is ready."

Fu Linghe got out of the car first, walked around to Yun Zheng and helped her out.

Yun Zheng's legs were a little numb, and she staggered as soon as she stood up, but was caught steadily by Fu Linghe.

"Be careful." He put his arms around her waist with just the right amount of strength.

As you walk into the entrance hall, the familiar home atmosphere hits you.

Yun Zheng looked at everything familiar at home and couldn't help but hum comfortably, "Home is still comfortable."
