Chapter 409 Wedding [Part 1]
Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye it was Cen Lian'an's wedding.
Yun Zheng didn't know why she was so excited about her best friend's wedding. Anyway, she didn't fall into a deep sleep until late last night.
Before dawn, Yun Zheng suddenly woke up from her sleep. When she sat up abruptly, a layer of fine sweat beads had already appeared on her forehead.
Her heart was beating wildly in her chest, her ears were buzzing, and she frantically fumbled for her phone on the bedside table, muttering to herself, "It's over, it's over, why didn't the alarm go off..."
The mattress beside her sank, and a pair of warm, strong arms wrapped around her from behind.
Fu Linghe's voice was still hoarse from just waking up, but it already revealed that he was fully awake. "It's only 4:20, sleep a little longer."
He gently pulled her back into his arms and pulled the duvet higher.
"But An An's wedding..." Yun Zheng struggled to get up, her fingers unconsciously clenching the corner of the quilt.
Fu Linghe chuckled softly, and placed his warm palm on her slightly bulging belly. "I promise to call you at 8 o'clock on time."
His lips were pressed against her ear, and his breath carried a faint minty scent. "You tossed and turned until two last night before falling asleep. You need to rest now."
The twins in the belly seemed to sense their father's presence and moved slightly.
Yun Zheng let out a long sigh, and her tense back finally relaxed as she sank back into the fluffy pillow.
Fu Linghe adjusted the angle of the pregnancy pillow and ran his slender fingers through her long hair, combing it occasionally.
"I dreamed that I was too late to put on makeup, and An An didn't wait for me and was crying in her wedding dress..." Yun Zheng's voice became lower and lower, and her eyelids began to feel heavy.
Fu Linghe kissed her between the eyebrows, "No."
These three words seemed to have magic power, making her completely relax.
He maintained his embrace until he heard her breathing become even and long, then he stood up quietly.
The sensor lights in the master bedroom gradually lit up as he walked.
Fu Linghe picked up the tablet to check today's schedule. His fingertips paused for a moment on the "picking up the bride" item, and then he sent a message to Jiang Chenyu: [I will accompany Zheng Zheng directly to the Cen family].
The sound of running water in the bathroom was deliberately turned down.
When Fu Linghe finished taking a shower, the sky was just beginning to turn pale.
He walked into the cloakroom in his bathrobe and took out the peach pink dress from the dust bag.
This was custom-made by a designer three months ago. The waistline is five centimeters higher than the regular style, the hem is asymmetrical, and the slit on the left is decorated with tassels made of pearls.
It is convenient for movement and can perfectly cover the pregnant belly.
In the kitchen, a food processor is stirring walnut oatmeal.
Fu Linghe looked at his watch. It was six fifteen.
He took out the fresh shrimp dumplings from the refrigerator and put them into the steamer, then took out the bird's nest stewed last night from the insulated box.
These ingredients are specially matched by nutritionists to ensure Yun Zheng and the babies' energy needs for the whole morning.
At exactly seven o'clock, Fu Linghe returned to the bedroom with a breakfast tray.
The sunlight had already filtered through the gauze curtains, casting mottled shadows on the carpet. He put down the tray and leaned over to look at Yun Zheng's sleeping face.
Her eyelashes were like two small fans in the morning light, trembling gently with her breathing.
He couldn't help but rub her cheek, which was flushed with a healthy blush, with the back of his finger.
"Hmm~" Yun Zheng unconsciously rubbed against his palm, like a coquettish cat.
Fu Linghe looked at the time, but in the end he was reluctant to wake her up immediately.
He turned and went to the bathroom to prepare water of suitable temperature for washing his face, squeezed toothpaste onto the electric toothbrush, and arranged the skin care products for pregnant women in the order of use.
It was not until 7:40 that he sat back on the bed and gently pinched Yun Zheng's earlobe.
"Baby, it's time to get up."
Yun Zheng opened her eyes drowsily and saw that Fu Linghe was already dressed.
The dark blue suit made his shoulders look even more upright, and he wore the sapphire brooch she had given him on his tie.
This outfit instantly sobered her up. "Shouldn't you go meet up with Jiang Chenyu?"
"No rush." Fu Linghe helped her sit up and handed warm water to her lips. "Lu Shiqian and Bo Jinnian are gone."
Yun Zheng sipped her drink and suddenly her eyes widened. "You stayed here just to keep me company?"
Fu Linghe didn't comment, but just moved the breakfast tray in front of her: "Eat first."
He opened the steamer, and the aroma of fresh shrimp immediately filled the air. "The chef has newly developed shrimp dumplings with mashed yam in the filling, which is easy to digest."
By the time Yun Zheng finished breakfast, Fu Linghe had already spread her dress flat on the chaise longue.
In the morning light, the silk fabric shone with a pearly luster, and the hand-embroidered cherry blossom pattern on the hem of the skirt was faintly visible.
The matching pearl waist chain is specially made into an adjustable style, which can stretch and contract freely with the changes in the pregnant belly.
"Are all maternity dresses so beautiful?" Yun Zheng stroked the hem of her dress and suddenly felt a pang of pain in her nose.
Ever since she became pregnant, her emotions have always been sudden and intense.
Fu Linghe keenly noticed her change, knelt on one knee and held her hand, "What's wrong?"
"I just feel..." Yun Zheng sniffed, "You even thought of such details."
Fu Linghe chuckled, his fingertips brushing across the corners of her moist eyes. "My Mrs. Fu deserves the best."
He stood up and took out a pair of cherry blossom-shaped earrings from his jewelry box. "These are a matching set. The earrings are hypoallergenic."
When Fu Linghe helped her fasten the invisible zipper on her back, his movements were as gentle as if he was treating fragile porcelain.
When the pearl waist chain was perfectly positioned above her pregnant belly, Yun Zheng turned around in front of the mirror, and the hem of her skirt swayed in an elegant arc.
"Will it be too conspicuous?" she said worriedly. "Today's protagonist is An An."
Fu Linghe hugged her from behind, his chin resting lightly on the top of her head. "Just right."
Her skin in the mirror was whiter than snow, and the peach-pink dress complemented her complexion perfectly without stealing the bride's limelight.
The plumpness during pregnancy made her look like a plump peach, exuding a gentle luster.
The makeup artist arrived on time at 8:30.
Fu Linghe stepped aside to deal with emails, but his eyes never left Yun Zheng.
When the makeup artist was about to use a curling iron, he immediately reminded her, "Don't exceed 120 degrees."
"Don't worry, Mr. Fu." The makeup artist smiled and lowered the temperature. "This one has negative ions, so it's absolutely safe for pregnant women."
After the makeup was done, Yun Zheng was glowing all over.
The eye makeup used the lightest champagne color, and the lipstick was a gentle bean paste pink. The hairstylist tied her long hair into a loose half bun, and the remaining hair hung naturally, perfectly modifying her face shape which became fuller due to hormonal changes during pregnancy.
"We can go now." After checking the personal belongings, Fu Linghe helped Yun Zheng put on a sun-protective jacket.
The sun was already scorching at 9:15, so he opened a vinyl umbrella over her head, and kept his other hand on her waist.
The extended Bentley slid quietly out of the garage.
Yun Zheng looked out the car window at the increasingly bustling streets and suddenly grabbed Fu Linghe's hand. "I'm a little nervous."
Fu Linghe interlocked his fingers with hers and said, "Don't be nervous. If you're not nervous, Miss Cen will feel more at ease when she sees you."
He stroked the wedding ring on her ring finger. "This morning, Jiang Chenyu sent a message saying that the bride had been asking 'Has Zheng Zheng arrived yet?' since five in the morning."
This detail made Yun Zheng's eyes warm.
She and Cen Lian'an were childhood friends. They knew each other when they were wearing diapers and had witnessed each other's most embarrassing and glorious moments.
They had agreed to be each other's bridesmaids, but now they have to give up this role because of the twins.
When the car drove into the tree-lined avenue of the Cen family's old house, Yun Zheng had already sat up straight.
Fu Linghe got out of the car first, then carefully helped her out.
The May wind, carrying the fragrance of flowers, blew up the pearl tassels on her skirt, making a rustling sound.
"Mr. Fu!" The Cen family's housekeeper came up quickly. "The eldest lady is in the master bedroom on the second floor, and she keeps talking about Miss Yun."
Yun Zheng was about to run upstairs when she heard that, but Fu Linghe pulled her back, saying, "Slow down."
He turned to the butler and said, "Please prepare a glass of warm honey water."
The corridor on the second floor was covered with thick carpet, and Yun Zheng's shoes made no sound when she stepped on it.
Laughter could be heard from the master bedroom.
As soon as she raised her hand to knock on the door, it was yanked open from the inside.
"Oh my god, baby, you're finally here!" Cen Lian rushed out with an unfinished hairstyle, and the train of her snow-white wedding dress spread out behind her like waves.
She grabbed Yun Zheng's wrist and said, "I was just planning to have Jiang Chenyu call Mr. Fu!"
Yun Zheng's eyes instantly turned red.
Cen Lian in front of him was stunningly beautiful. The lace neckline of her wedding dress set off her slender neck, and her makeup was delicate but not gaudy. Only her eyes, which were always full of spirit, were now watery.
"You..." Yun Zheng had just opened her mouth when she was pulled into a hug with the scent of roses.
"I'm so nervous if you don't come." Cen Lian whispered in her ear, his voice trembling.
