Chapter 99 The misunderstanding between the young couple is huge

Fu Linghe quickly called housekeeper Feng to get a spare key, opened the door from the outside, and then went in.

He trotted to the master bedroom and finally saw the figure he had been thinking about.

She stood in front of the window, and the breeze blew gently in from the half-open window, like an invisible but gentle hand, ruffling her long hair wantonly.

The light shines through the mottled shadows of the trees and falls on her, forming patches of light and dark, adding a touch of cold and broken feeling to her.

Fu Linghe quickly walked over to her side, holding her shoulders, his face full of anxiety, "Zhengzheng, what's wrong with you? Did you catch a cold?"

He placed his slightly cool palm on her forehead and probed.

Yun Zheng reached out and brushed the man's large hand away, then took a step back gently. There was a barely perceptible detachment in her tone, and she said, "I'm fine."

Fu Linghe always felt that Yun Zheng was a little strange today, but he couldn't tell exactly what was wrong.

He withdrew his hand, thinking that she was just tired.

"Zheng Zheng, why don't you open the door? You scared me to death." Fu Linghe looked at Yun Zheng with undisguised worry in his eyes.

"I was a little distracted just now and didn't hear it."

"I heard from them that you didn't have lunch," Fu Linghe continued.

Yun Zheng walked to the bed and sat down, saying softly, "I have no appetite. I can't eat."

Fu Linghe took out the milk tea and cake he bought for her and helped her unpack them. "How can you not eat? I bought these specially for you. They are all your favorites."

Yun Zheng looked at Fu Linghe who was busy unpacking the package for her, and her mind was full of the photos sent by Cen Lian'an showing him being affectionate with someone else.

In the past, she would have happily gone over to help him, but now she only felt it was ironic.

And what he said about it being intentional was actually just a by-product.

She knows.

Fu Linghe picked out a matcha mousse cake from the many small cakes and handed it to Yun Zheng, "Hurry up and eat something to fill your stomach."

Yun Zheng looked up at the man and took the exquisite little cake from his hand, but she just held it in her hand and did not eat it.

"Don't you like it?" Fu Linghe locked his eyes with Yun Zheng and spoke cautiously, "We have other flavors. I'll get you whatever you want."

Yun Zheng shook her head slightly, her voice a little hoarse, "No, I just don't want to eat."

She casually placed the small cake in her hand on the table beside her.

Fu Linghe looked at the cake that was put aside and felt more and more uneasy. He sat down next to Yun Zheng and tried to pull her hand over, but she dodged it without a trace when he was about to touch it.

"Zheng Zheng, did something happen?" Fu Linghe's tone was full of anxiety. She was apparently fine in the morning, but he went out to pick someone up, and she kept him at a distance again.

Fu Linghe was puzzled. Even though he was sentenced to death, his death was unclear.

Yun Zheng took a deep breath and tried to make her voice sound calmer. "It's okay. I'm just a little tired and not feeling well."

She avoided Fu Linghe's gaze and looked at the setting sun outside the window. The afterglow sprinkled on her face, but could not illuminate her cold heart.

The room fell into a brief silence, with only the sound of the curtains gently blowing in the breeze.

Fu Linghe looked at Yun Zheng, his heart filled with frustration. He didn't know how to break this barrier.

He stood up and walked to the window, closing it a little.

Yun Zheng secretly glanced at Fu Linghe's back, feeling mixed emotions.

She really wanted to ask him where he had been, but she was afraid of hearing an answer she didn't want to hear.

Thinking of this, my hands clenched unconsciously, my nails digging into my palms, but I didn't feel any pain at all.

"Did you go to the company just now?" Yun Zheng finally couldn't help but asked tentatively.

Fu Linghe paused as he was about to close the window, and an indescribable feeling suddenly arose in his heart. Yun Zheng took the initiative to talk to him.

This was the first sentence Yun Zheng said to him after he came in.

Fu Linghe quickly turned around and looked at her, and said truthfully, "No, I just went to the airport to pick someone up, then went to the mall to buy you a small cake and came back."

When Yun Zheng heard his answer, a bitter feeling rose in her heart. It seemed that the photo was real.

"Well, you go out first, I want to rest for a while."

Yun Zheng didn't know how to get along normally with Fu Linghe, so she simply let him go out first.

When Fu Linghe heard Yun Zheng asking him to go out, he felt like a bucket of cold water was poured over his head, and all his expectations vanished in an instant.

He opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but his throat seemed to be blocked and no sound came out.

His eyes were full of loss as he stared at Yun Zheng, trying to find a sign of relief on her face, but all he saw was her cold and resolute profile.

Fu Linghe felt like his heart was being gnawed by millions of ants, it was itchy and painful, and he felt extremely uncomfortable.

"Zheng Zheng, I..." He spoke with difficulty, his voice trembling slightly. "Did I do something wrong? Don't treat me like this. Can't we talk it out?"

His tone was almost pleading. At this moment, he was like a lost child, helpless and confused.

Yun Zheng still didn't look at him, but repeated calmly, "I want to rest, you go out first."

Every word she spoke was like a sharp knife, cutting into Fu Linghe's heart.

Fu Linghe's hands dropped weakly. He turned around in despair and walked towards the door with heavy steps.

With every step he took, he expected Yun Zheng to call him and give him a chance to explain, but until he reached the door, no sound came from behind him.

After leaving the room, Fu Linghe leaned against the wall, feeling extremely helpless.

After a long time, he got up and walked downstairs.

As soon as Fu Linghe went downstairs, he asked Butler Feng to call all the servants in the main building and have them stand in rows.

He sat on the sofa, exuding endless coldness.

"Who brought the meal to Madam just now?"

"Sir, it's me." The two maids standing in the first row spoke tremblingly.

"Didn't you notice anything unusual about Madam when you went to deliver the meal just now?" Fu Linghe's low voice was filled with anxiety.

A young maid thought for a moment before gently shaking her head. "No, Madam just said she had no appetite and didn't want to eat, so she asked me to take the food down."

Fu Linghe's brows were furrowed, his face showing an unrelieved sadness. "Nothing else to say?"

"No more, but..." The little maid lowered her head, hesitant to speak.

"But what?" Fu Linghe's tone couldn't help but rise a few notches, his eyes full of urgency and oppression.

The maid shuddered at Fu Linghe's sudden rise in voice and continued, "The Madam seemed to have cried."

"Yes, the lady started crying while looking at her phone," another maid quickly added, "I don't know what she saw."
