Chapter 322: Mr. Fu in Coma
Yun Zheng's fingertips gently pressed against the glass, and even her breathing became very light, as if she was afraid of disturbing Fu Linghe.
"The boss's right arm wound is very deep. He lost a lot of blood, and he also suffered a concussion from the blow to his head." Jiang Chenyu walked over to her, his voice low and steady. "But the operation was successful, and the boss has a strong will to live. He will definitely be fine."
Lu Shiqian also echoed, "Yes, sister-in-law, the boss is much stronger than we thought. He will definitely be able to get through it for you."
Bo Jinnian stood aside, with a hint of fatigue between his brows, and did not speak. With his personality like that, he didn't know how to comfort others.
Yun Zheng's tears slid silently.
She raised her hand and wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. "You guys are tired too. Go back and rest first. I'll just stay here and watch over you."
Given Fu Linghe's current condition, so many people in the hospital can only watch helplessly and be of no use.
Lu Shiqian and Bo Jinnian looked at each other and finally nodded.
Jiang Chenyu hesitated for a moment and said softly, "Sister-in-law, call us anytime if anything happens."
Yun Zheng nodded slightly and said nothing.
Mo Shi'an's handkerchief was soaked with blood. He frowned and glanced at Yun Zheng's hand. He said to the nurse, "Retreat her wound."
Yun Zheng seemed not to hear anything. She pressed her whole body against the glass, staring inside without blinking.
It was not until the nurse carefully pulled her injured hand that she shuddered as if waking from a dream.
"Does he need a blood transfusion?" she asked suddenly, her voice almost inaudible. "I'm type O."
Mo Shian held her shoulders and said, "The blood bank is full. You need to rest now."
Yun Zheng withdrew her hand as soon as the nurse finished bandaging the wound.
She turned to Mo Shian, a stubborn fire burning in her eyes, "I want to go in and see him."
"The ICU has visiting hours..."
"Now." Mo Shian was interrupted before she could finish her words. Her nails dug deep into his palm, and the gauze he had just bandaged began to ooze blood. "I want to go in now."
Bo Jinnian, who had been silent all this time, suddenly spoke up, "Let her in."
He looked at Mo Shian, "You know you can't stop her."
Mo Shi'an glanced at Yun Zheng, with a hint of helplessness in his eyes, but he still compromised.
He only has this one sister, and it's rare for her to be close to them. Let alone such a small request, he would be willing to sacrifice his life for Fu Linghe's even if it meant that!
Mo Shian waved to the nurse beside him and whispered, "Take her to change into sterile clothes and bring her in."
The young nurse nodded and said softly to Yun Zheng, "Miss Yun, please follow me."
Yun Zheng mechanically followed the young nurse to the locker room, her eyes never leaving the heavy door of the ICU.
In the locker room, the young nurse handed her a set of light blue sterile clothes. Yun Zheng's fingers were shaking so much that she could hardly hold the clothes.
From the moment she learned about Fu Linghe's plane crash until now, Yun Zheng's hands have never stopped shaking.
"Do you need my help?" the young nurse asked cautiously.
Yun Zheng shook her head and started to change her clothes.
When the hood of the sterile suit covered her long hair, she vaguely remembered how Fu Linghe would help her blow dry her hair every night after he took a shower.
Those memories came flooding back like a tide, almost drowning her.
After changing her clothes, the young nurse took her to the disinfection area and patiently instructed her on the steps of washing her hands and disinfecting them.
Yun Zheng stared at her pale fingers, which were still wrapped in bloody gauze.
She mechanically performed every action according to the instructions, but her mind had already flown to Fu Linghe.
"You can go in." The young nurse said softly and opened the ICU door for her.
Yun Zheng paused at the door, took a deep breath, and stepped in.
The light in the ICU is soft but dazzling, and the ticking sounds of various instruments intertwine together to form a strange sound.
Her eyes immediately locked onto the innermost bed.
Fu Linghe lay there quietly, his body full of tubes, his face so pale that it was almost transparent.
Yun Zheng's breathing stopped for a moment. She walked over quickly, but suddenly stopped a few steps away from the bed.
Fu Linghe's right arm was wrapped in thick bandages, his forehead was covered with gauze, and his lips were tightly pursed under the breathing mask.
He was in a much worse state than what appeared through the glass.
"Fu Linghe..." Yun Zheng called softly, her voice trembling.
She slowly approached and carefully took his good hand.
His palms were cold, completely different from the warm and strong touch in his memory.
Yun Zheng put his hand on her cheek, trying to warm him with her body temperature, but it was of no use.
"You liar! You clearly promised me that you would come back safely." Yun Zheng's voice was choked and trembling uncontrollably.
"I've already tried on dresses, and everything for the engagement party is ready. All that's missing is the two of us."
"Wake up, please... We haven't had our engagement party or wedding yet, Fu Linghe..."
Yun Zheng looked at the lifeless man lying on the hospital bed, leaned over tremblingly, and rested her forehead on his cold fingertips.
She kept muttering to herself beside the bed for a long time, but he still didn't respond at all.
There was no fluctuation on the monitor, and he showed no signs of waking up.
Mo Shian pushed open the door of the ICU, and the sound of his footsteps was particularly clear in the room filled with the strong smell of disinfectant.
He walked behind Yun Zheng, and the soles of his medical rubber shoes made a slight friction sound on the ground.
"The time has come." His voice was soft, but it brooked no refusal.
Yun Zheng's back obviously stiffened for a moment, but she still stubbornly held Fu Linghe's hand.
Her slender fingers contrasted sharply with Fu Linghe's bony hands, and the blood oozing from the gauze was particularly glaring on her pale skin.
"Give me another ten minutes." Her voice seemed to come from far away, with an unnatural calmness.
Mo Shian glanced at the monitor and saw that all the indicators were still worryingly stable.
He reached out and pressed Yun Zheng's shoulder, feeling the suppressed trembling beneath her frail body. "You know the visiting regulations in the ICU. His immunity is almost zero now. Any infection could kill him."
These words stabbed into Yun Zheng's heart like a knife.
She suddenly looked up, a trace of panic flashed in her red eyes, and she subconsciously let go of Fu Linghe's hand.
"Did I...didn't I disinfect it thoroughly?" She looked at her hands in panic, her voice trembling. "Did I..."
Mo Shian immediately realized that his words had frightened her, and quickly softened his tone. "No, you're doing very well. But the ICU environment is very demanding, and we must minimize the risks."
Yun Zheng's fingertips were suspended in the air, and her expression of wanting to touch but not daring to do so made Mo Shi'an's throat tighten.
She slowly withdrew her hand and stood up. Her legs were numb from sitting for a long time, but she didn't feel any pain at all.
"Okay, I'll go out." Her voice was as light as a feather falling to the ground, but it made Mo Shian breathe a sigh of relief.
When she turned around, the corner of Yun Zheng's clothes brushed against the bed rail, making a slight sound.
Yun Zheng suddenly stopped, turned around and looked at Fu Linghe deeply, full of reluctance.
Mo Shian gently held her shoulders and said, "Let's go."
The lights in the corridor were much brighter than those in the ICU, and they hurt Yun Zheng's eyes.
She mechanically followed Mo Shian to the locker room, but suddenly stumbled at the corner.
"Be careful!" Mo Shi'an held her, and then he realized that she was shaking all over. "You need to rest."
Yun Zheng shook her head and stood up. "I'm fine."
When the locker room door closed, she finally couldn't hold on any longer, and she rested her forehead against the cold metal door, silently shedding tears.
Yun Zheng is like a helpless child, she needs to face all this alone.
Now she can only wait anxiously and can do nothing.
"Knock knock knock~" There was a soft knock on the locker room door.
Mo Shian's voice also came into his ears, "Zheng Zheng, have you changed your clothes?"
Yun Zheng hurriedly wiped the tears from her face and took a deep breath to calm herself down.
She took off her sterile gown and changed back into her own clothes, her fingertips lingering on the buttons for a moment, sorting out her shattered emotions.
"Okay." She responded softly and pushed open the door to the locker room.
Mo Shian stood outside the door, holding a glass of warm water in his hand.
He saw Yun Zheng's red and swollen eyes and frowned slightly, but he said nothing and just handed her the cup of water.
"Drink some water. You haven't eaten for a long time." His voice was gentle but unyielding.
Yun Zheng took the cup of water and took a sip mechanically. The warm water slid down her throat, but it could not dispel the coldness in her heart.
"He'll be fine, right?" She looked up at Mo Shian, her eyes full of vulnerability and hope.
Mo Shi'an gently placed his hand on Yun Zheng's shoulder, his voice steady and firm, "Zheng Zheng, the Mo family's medical team is the most authoritative in the world. I personally called in Professor Smith from the neurosurgery department and Dr. Anderson from the trauma department. They are both consulting on Fu Linghe."
He looked down at his sister's pale face and softened his tone. "Fu Linghe's brain CT scan showed no organic damage. His current coma is his body's self-protection mechanism. All his indicators are improving, it just takes time."
Yun Zheng's eyelashes trembled slightly, and tears welled up in her eyes again. "But he has been in a coma for nearly 30 hours."
She knew that tears were useless, but she couldn't help but shed them.
Mo Shian gently wiped away the tears on Yun Zheng's face. "He has a strong constitution. It's only a matter of time before he wakes up. Believe me."
Yun Zheng suddenly looked up, a glint in her eyes, "Really?"
Mo Shi'an nodded, his tone firm, "Zheng Zheng, the most important thing you should do now is to take good care of yourself, so that you can have the strength to continue to accompany him."
Yun Zheng nodded slightly, and as soon as the two of them walked out of the locker room, she walked uncontrollably towards the ICU.
Mo Shian reached out and held Yun Zheng's wrist. "Come home with me and rest. You'll collapse if you keep going like this."
Yun Zheng suddenly pulled her hand back, took a step back and leaned against the wall, her voice hoarse but firm, "I'm not leaving."
She turned her head and looked towards the ICU, her eyes stubborn and almost paranoid. "I'll just stay outside and not go anywhere."
Mo Shian frowned, "You're still sick, you can't endure it any longer. What you need most right now is rest..."
"I can't sleep." Yun Zheng's fingers unconsciously tugged at the corner of her clothes. "Just let me stay here, okay? I promise to eat and drink water on time, but don't let me leave the hospital..."
Her voice gradually lowered, with a hint of pleading.
