Chapter 236 Don’t you even want to know your life story?
"Mr. Mo, apart from the research institute's matters, there's nothing much for us to discuss." Yun Zheng's expression was cold, and she looked at him without any warmth in her eyes.
Now all she could think about was getting out of this damn place with Fu Linghe as soon as possible.
Yun Zheng regretted that she shouldn't have come to this place for her meaningless dream.
It put Fu Linghe and her in deep danger.
Fu Linghe stood behind Yun Zheng, his eyes fixed on her slender yet straight back.
The night wind blew her hair, and the halo of the car lights outlined her stubborn figure.
She was so frail, yet she dared to stand in front of him and confront Mo Shian and so many bodyguards.
The coldness in his eyes gradually faded, replaced by an indescribable undercurrent.
She's protecting him!
This realization made his chest feel slightly hot, as if something had gently exploded deep within his heart, causing him to feel numb and hot.
He lowered his eyes and looked at her clenched fingertips. Her knuckles turned slightly white due to the force, but she still stubbornly refused to give in.
Fu Linghe's Adam's apple rolled slightly and his eyes darkened.
He suddenly wanted to pull her into his arms and rub her into his bones and blood.
But he just calmly took half a step forward, gently placed his slender fingers on her shoulders, and rubbed her taut skin with his fingertips. His voice was low and bewitching, "Zheng Zheng, don't be afraid, I'm here."
Yun Zheng didn't turn around, but just turned her face slightly, and her eyelashes trembled slightly.
Fu Linghe was too lazy to talk any more nonsense with Mo Shi'an. He tapped the earphone lightly with his fingertips and issued a silent command.
Three minutes later, the roar of engines suddenly came from a distance, and dazzling high beams lit up from all directions. More than a dozen black modified cars rushed out from the night like ghosts, and instantly surrounded the Mo family's convoy!
The car doors opened in unison, and dozens of well-trained bodyguards quickly lined up, each holding a cold weapon in their hands, with the muzzle pointed directly at Mo Shian's men!
Mo Shi'an's eyes suddenly turned cold, and he raised his hand to signal his men to be on guard.
The two groups confronted each other on the highway. The air seemed to freeze and the atmosphere was tense and ready to break out.
Fu Linghe stood behind Yun Zheng, his thin lips slightly curled, but there was a cold light in his eyes.
"Boss Mo," he said in a low voice, with a hint of casual mockery, "Your people don't seem to be very good enough?"
Mo Shian sneered and was about to speak——
"Bang!"
Suddenly, a gunshot pierced the night sky!
Yun Zheng's pupils shrank, and before she could react, Fu Linghe grabbed her waist and quickly held her in his arms and took several steps back!
The bullet flew past the place where they had just stood, splashing sparks on the ground!
"Who fired the shot?!" Mo Shi'an shouted, his face terribly gloomy.
He turned around abruptly, grabbed the collar of his subordinate, and a terrifying storm surged in his eyes. "Who gave you permission to shoot?!"
The subordinate's face turned pale and he stammered, "N-I don't know... It's not me."
Fu Linghe's eyes flashed, and he didn't bother to look at Mo Shi'an's men. He bent down and picked up Yun Zheng horizontally.
Yun Zheng seemed to be used to it and naturally put her arms around his neck.
He tensed his arm muscles, placed her steadily on the heavy motorcycle, and fastened her helmet with swift movements.
"Hold me tight." Fu Linghe's low voice came from outside the helmet, with irresistible power.
Yun Zheng was about to nod when she suddenly heard Mo Shi'an's heartbreaking cry from behind her, "Yun Zheng! Don't you even want to know your own life story?"
His voice penetrated the helmet and reached Yun Zheng's ears, and her body stiffened suddenly.
Fu Linghe could clearly feel that Yun Zheng's hand around her waist stiffened for a moment.
Fu Linghe's hands were already gripping the motorcycle handlebars, his knuckles turning white from the force, and the engine was making a low roar, ready to go.
Yun Zheng felt as if the blood in her body was flowing backwards and she felt cold all over.
"Wait—" Her voice came from the helmet with a barely perceptible tremor.
Fu Linghe turned his head and saw her slowly raise her hand. Her fingertips hesitated on the helmet buckle for a second, and then it was unfastened with a "click".
The night wind immediately messed up her hair, revealing her slightly scarlet eyes.
"What did you just say?" She turned her head, looked over Fu Linghe's shoulder and looked straight at Mo Shian.
The light from the street lamp shattered into swaying stars in her pupils, reflecting an almost fragile confusion.
Mo Shian took a step forward, and the hem of his suit rustled in the wind.
The relaxed fake smile on his face disappeared, replaced by a solemnity that Yun Zheng had never seen before.
"You are not a child of the Yun family, nor are you the child of Yun Ruzhu's adoptive parents..." His voice was very soft, but it hit Yun Zheng's heart like a heavy hammer, "You are..."
"Mo Shi'an!" Fu Linghe suddenly interrupted with a sharp voice, and the motorcycle made a dangerous hum under his palm.
He pressed down on Yun Zheng's shoulders with one hand, almost crushing her bones. "Don't listen to his nonsense. Let's go home, now."
But Yun Zheng seemed to be frozen.
She could see his lips moving, but she heard nothing.
The world suddenly became very quiet, with only the sound of blood pounding in the eardrums.
Her fingers had unknowingly clenched the corner of Fu Linghe's clothes, and the fabric was wrinkled in her palm.
Fu Linghe felt her trembling and struggling.
He saw her pale lips gently opening and closing, and saw tiny drops of water condensing on her eyelashes - he didn't know if it was night dew or something else.
My heart felt like it was being tightly grasped by an invisible hand.
"Zheng Zheng." He leaned closer to her, his breath spraying on her cold earlobe, "You..."
Yun Zheng's eyes finally focused.
She looked at Fu Linghe's face so close to her, and her eyes, which were always full of tenderness, were now filled with tension.
But she just shook her head slowly and firmly.
"I want to know." She loosened the corner of his clothes, her fingertips turning an unnatural red from excessive force. "Fu Linghe, let me down."
Fu Linghe stared at Yun Zheng's eyes for a few seconds, then suddenly turned over and got out of the car.
His slender fingers clasped her waist and he almost lifted her off the motorcycle.
As Yun Zheng's feet touched the ground, her knees gave way. Fu Linghe's arms immediately tightened, holding her steady.
"Can you walk?" he asked in a low voice, his breath puffing behind her ear.
Yun Zheng nodded, took a deep breath and pushed his arm away.
The moment she turned around, Fu Linghe's hand hovered in the air for a second, and finally clenched into a fist and hung at his side.
The night wind lifted her clothes, and her thin figure cast a long shadow in the glaring car lights.
She walked towards Mo Shian step by step, her steps changing from shaky to firm.
"Speak clearly." Yun Zheng's voice was soft, but clearly audible in the cold night. "What do you know about my background?"
How could Yun Zheng not look forward to her own life experience? Everyone wants a family, a family that will stand behind her unconditionally regardless of whether what she does is right or wrong.
It has nothing to do with love, nor is it friendship. It is the purest family affection that is thicker than blood!
It's not that she hasn't checked, but perhaps it was too long ago and she couldn't find anything useful.
Zhou Yushen said that he didn't know what kind of dirty blood was in her body. This sentence was like a thorn that pierced Yun Zheng's heart and made her flesh and blood ache.
