Chapter 144: You fool, you won’t even tell me you’re sleepy!

Chapter 144 You fool, you won’t even tell me you’re sleepy!

The elders of the Fu family are divided into two groups. One group is the night owls headed by Shen Lanshu, and the other group is the ones who stay up late with their wives headed by Fu Yanze.

Yun Zheng and Fu Linghe rarely come back to stay overnight tonight, so they are reluctant to go to bed so early.

Once we started chatting, we couldn't stop and forgot about time until the early morning.

Seeing that Yun Zheng was almost unable to hold on any longer, Fu Linghe couldn't help but speak up, "Mom, Grandma, that's enough. You can endure it at your age, but my Zheng Zheng can't."

"Let's go, Zhengzheng, go upstairs and sleep. We won't come back to accompany them in the future." Fu Linghe reached out and pulled Yun Zheng up from the sofa, put his arms around her waist and pulled her into his arms.

Ignore the elders' gazes!

Yun Zheng's mind was already a little confused because of sleepiness, and it was not until she bumped into Fu Linghe's warm and familiar arms that she became a little more sober.

"Grandpa, grandma, mom, dad, aunt, you should also go to bed early. Good night."

As soon as Yun Zheng finished speaking, Fu Linghe bent down, held her in his arms, and strode upstairs.

He held Yun Zheng steadily with one hand and opened the door of the room upstairs with the other.

As soon as the door opened, all the lights in the room lit up instantly.

Fu Linghe gently placed Yun Zheng on the cabinet at the entrance, with his hands on her sides, and his bony fingers tapped lightly on the solid wood cabinet.

He leaned forward slightly, and the distance between them was so close that they could almost feel each other's breath.

The light in the room was soft, shining on Yun Zheng's slightly tired face, reflecting her slightly flushed cheeks.

Yun Zheng's sleepiness was somewhat dispelled at this moment. She raised her eyes and met Fu Linghe's deep gaze, and her heart beat faster involuntarily.

There was a hint of teasing and tenderness in Fu Linghe's eyes, as if he was appreciating her panic at the moment.

"Like staying up late?" He asked in a low voice, his voice low and magnetic, with a hint of subtle temptation, "Why don't you stay up late with me?"

Yun Zheng was no fool, so she naturally understood the meaning behind his words. She shook her head like a rattle, "No... no."

Fu Linghe chuckled, raised his hand and gently stroked her cheek. The warmth of his fingertips made her tremble slightly.

His movements were very gentle, as if he was stroking a precious treasure, afraid of breaking it.

"Then you were still trying to be brave and chat with them for so long." There was a hint of blame in his tone, but more of it was heartache.

Yun Zheng pursed her lips and quietly defended herself, "It's a rare occasion for us to come back, and I don't want to spoil everyone's fun."

Fu Linghe didn't say anything else, but just looked at her quietly, his eyes gradually becoming deep.

His fingers slid from her cheek to behind her ear and gently pinched her earlobe. Fu Linghe could clearly feel the slight trembling of her body.

"Fu Linghe..." Yun Zheng's voice was a little soft, with a hint of helplessness.

"Hmm?" He responded softly, with a hint of temptation in his voice.

Yun Zheng opened her mouth, but didn't know what to say. She felt that the air around her seemed to become thinner and it was difficult to breathe.

Fu Linghe's aura enveloped her, bringing with it an irresistible sense of oppression.

His eyes fell on her lips, and his eyes gradually became hot.

Yun Zheng felt his breath getting closer and closer, her heart beating like a drum, and her fingers unconsciously gripped the edge of the cabinet under her.

Just when their lips were about to touch, Fu Linghe suddenly stopped and slightly distanced himself.

Yun Zheng was stunned for a moment, then looked up at him with a hint of confusion and a hint of loss in her eyes.

Fu Linghe looked at her, a meaningful smile on his lips, "I'll let you go today and go to bed early."

After saying that, he stood up, reached out and took her down from the cabinet, and placed her steadily on the ground.

Yun Zheng was still a little dazed. As soon as her feet touched the ground, her legs went weak and she almost lost her balance. She fell straight into his arms.

Fu Linghe quickly supported her and chuckled, "What's wrong? You can't even stand steadily?"

Yun Zheng blushed, pushed his hand away, and muttered softly, "I'm fine."

Fu Linghe didn't tease her anymore, but patted her head gently, "Go wash up and go to bed early."

Yun Zheng nodded, turned and walked towards the bathroom, her steps a little hurried.

Fu Linghe looked at her hurriedly leaving back, and the smile on his lips deepened a little.

He leaned against the wall with his hands in his pockets, his eyes still following her direction until the bathroom door closed, then he withdrew his gaze and sighed softly.

"It's really... becoming more and more unbearable." He whispered to himself, with a hint of helplessness and pampering in his tone.

When Yun Zheng came out of the shower, Fu Linghe was no longer in the room.

She didn't know where he went.

Yun Zheng wiped her wet hair and looked around the room. She found that Fu Linghe was not there, and she felt a little confused.

She walked to the bed and sat down, picked up her phone and checked the time. It was already past one in the morning.

Although she was still sleepy, her thoughts were a little confused, and the scene at the entrance kept replaying in her mind.

"Where did you go again?" Yun Zheng whispered to herself, feeling a little lost.

Just then, the door of the room was gently pushed open, and Fu Linghe walked in with a cup of steaming milk.

His footsteps were very light, as if he was afraid of disturbing her, but Yun Zheng still noticed him immediately.

"Where have you been?" Yun Zheng raised her head, with a hint of unconscious dependence in her voice.

Fu Linghe walked over to her, handed the milk to her, and said gently, "I'll go heat the milk for you."

Yun Zheng drinks a glass of milk before going to bed every night. She cannot sleep well without it. This has become a habit she has developed over the years.

She took the milk and felt the warmth coming from the wall of the cup, and her heart also warmed up.

She lowered her head and took a sip. The milk was at just the right temperature, with a hint of sweetness, which instantly dispelled the uneasiness in her heart.

"Thank you," she said softly, a smile unconsciously appearing on her lips.

Fu Linghe sat down beside her, reached out and rubbed her still damp hair, and said with a hint of pampering in his tone, "You don't have to blow dry your hair, aren't you afraid of catching a cold?"

Yun Zheng swallowed the milk in her mouth and then muttered softly, "I just took a shower and haven't had time to blow dry it yet."

Fu Linghe smiled helplessly, got up and went to the bathroom to get a hair dryer. After plugging it in, he gently patted her shoulder and said, "Turn around, I'll help you blow dry."

Yun Zheng was stunned for a moment, a blush on her face, but she still turned around obediently and faced away from him.

Fu Linghe turned on the hair dryer, and the warm wind gently blew through her hair. His fingers shuttled through her hair, his movements gentle and delicate.

The only sound in the room was the hum of the hair dryer, and the atmosphere was quiet and warm.

Yun Zheng held the milk, feeling the warmth of Fu Linghe's fingertips, and her heart seemed to be filled with something soft.

"Fu Linghe..." She suddenly spoke, her voice so soft that it was almost inaudible.

"Hmm?" He turned off the hair dryer, lowered his head close to her ear, and said in a low and gentle voice, "What's wrong?"

Yun Zheng pursed her lips, but in the end said nothing and just shook her head.

Fu Linghe looked at Yun Zheng's shy look, and his heart softened. He couldn't help but lower his head and kissed her lightly on the top of her head.

"Okay, my hair is dry, and I've finished my milk. It's time to go to bed." He put away the hair dryer, his tone carrying a hint of tenderness that could not be refused.

Yun Zheng nodded and lay down on the bed obediently. Fu Linghe tucked the quilt for her and sat by the bed looking at her.

"Aren't you going to sleep?" Yun Zheng blinked and looked at him with some confusion.

Fu Linghe smiled and reached out to gently scratch the tip of her nose. "You go to sleep first. I still need to take a shower."

Yun Zheng felt sleepy and couldn't hold on any longer, so she fell asleep.

Fu Linghe raised his hand to pull the quilt over her, and his gentle tone was filled with helplessness, "Silly girl, you didn't even tell me you were so sleepy, and you insisted on holding on."

"Hmm..." Yun Zheng responded in a daze while sleeping.

Fu Linghe simply had no way to deal with her.

He turned off the main light in the room, leaving only two dim wall lamps on, then went to the bathroom to take a cold shower.

He got onto the bed quietly, and when he felt a little warmer, he pulled Yun Zheng into his arms, hugged her, and closed his eyes contentedly.

The room was silent, with only the sound of their even breathing being heard.

The moonlight shines through the gaps in the curtains onto the bed, adding a soft filter to this warm picture.
