Chapter 7 Wu Family

Cheng Huaijin packed his things and went to the Wu family early the next morning.

Now that things have come to this, she's too young to leave, and Cheng's parents have already completed the formalities, so she can't even call the police. She'll just have to take it one step at a time. She's not a real child; she believes there will always be a way out of her current predicament.

She was waiting for the right moment. She would prepare to leave before that "cripple" returned.

At the entrance of the Wu family's house.

This is a small villa with a Western European retro style. Cheng Jianguo wiped his hands on his trousers and rang the doorbell.

"Who is it?" a female voice asked.

Cheng Jianguo approached the doorbell with a fawning smile and said, "Hello, we've brought Cheng Huaijin here."

A short while later, a middle-aged woman dressed as a nanny appeared. She opened the door and looked the three people standing in the doorway up and down: "Cheng Jianguo? You should leave. My young lady doesn't agree to this."

Cheng Jianguo grew anxious: "But we've already talked to Mr. Wu Yong. Why don't you talk to the old lady again?"

"Go find whoever agreed to it with you. My young lady won't acknowledge it. Go, go, go! Get out of here!" The nanny waved her hand.

Cheng Huaijin felt somewhat relieved, thinking that she had probably made the right bet. Since Wu Yutao was against the matter, she could stay for the time being, accumulate strength, and leave before the young master of the Wu family returned.

Before Mr. Cheng could say anything more, the nanny simply closed the door.

Cheng Huaijin stood behind them, lost in thought. Suddenly, she sensed someone watching her. When she turned around, she saw a graceful white crane perched on a tree, quietly watching her.

"What a beautiful crane..." Cheng Huaijin shifted his body, raised his head, and made no attempt to hide the admiration in his eyes.

The white crane glanced at her lazily, then gracefully continued sleeping.

After hesitating for a while at the door, Cheng's parents said to Cheng Huaijin, "Huaijin, why don't you stay here? You're just a young girl; we believe Grandma Wu won't be so heartless as to not let you in. If we stay here, it might upset the old lady..."

Cheng's mother cried, "My poor daughter..."

Mr. Cheng glared at Mrs. Cheng: "You're part of their family now. Your parents raised you, so consider this your way of repaying us!"

Mr. Cheng and Mrs. Cheng fled in panic.

Cheng Huaijin called out to them, "After this, I owe you nothing!"

The debt of gratitude for raising and nurturing must be severed completely.

Cheng's father paused, without turning around, and said, "Fine! Let's just say our father-daughter relationship is over!"

Cheng Huaijin watched the two figures walk away, then plopped down on the door of the Wu family's house.

That was quite a heartless departure... But it doesn't matter, from now on, Cheng Huaijin will have no more ties.

After thinking for a moment, she rang the doorbell and said, "Hello, Auntie, I'm Cheng Huaijin. I'm 13 years old and just awakened my beast-taming talent. I will become a professional beast-taming combatant in the future. I'm currently planning to find a part-time job at a pet training center to earn money. If you want to see me, you can find me there."

After saying that, she bowed to the doorbell and said, "Thank you, goodbye."

"Yun~" The white crane suddenly flew down, its pure white wings spreading out to blot out the sky. Only then did Cheng Huaijin realize that this white crane was unusually large.

Anyway, it looks about five or six times her size.

A white crane landed beside her and its long beak brushed against her hair.

The door opened, and the nanny, who had been so fierce just moments before, beckoned to Cheng Huaijin kindly: "Come in first, poor little girl."

Cheng Huaijin was somewhat surprised, but quickly understood. It seemed that although Old Madam Wu disapproved of their actions, she ultimately pitied the young girl, who had encountered such heartless parents at such a young age…

In short, this is most likely an old man with a sharp tongue but a kind heart.

Okay, looks like I made the right bet.

At this moment, Cheng Huaijin did not have the weak and delicate demeanor that she usually pretended to have at the Cheng family. She knew that this kind of personality would not work with Wu Yutao.

Since that's the case, then I'll stop pretending and just be myself.

Cheng Huaijin, carrying her bag, followed behind the nanny: "Auntie, may I ask your name?"

The nanny's smile remained impeccable as she spoke gently, "Don't be so polite. Miss said you can stay here temporarily. Just call me Afu."

"Aunt Fu, what kind of pet is that white crane?" Cheng Huaijin asked curiously.

Ah Fu laughed: "Miss Cheng, please don't stand on ceremony with me. If you really can't, just call me Aunt Fu."

Cheng Huaijin quickly waved her hand: "Aunt Fu, you don't need to call me Miss. You can call me Huaijin or Xiao Cheng."

Afu didn't respond, but continued, "This pet is a Cloud Crane. It's Miss's prized pet."

"Teng Yunhe?" Cheng Huaijin asked. "It sounds familiar."

Afu opened the door and helped Cheng Huaijin carry her luggage inside: "Of course, Miss's Tengyun Crane has participated in the national competition!" "Ah?! So amazing?!" Cheng Huaijin said in surprise.

Afu smiled with pride: "Of course! Back then, Teng Yunhe participated in the National Grand Prix and won third place!"

China is a vast country with abundant resources and a great variety of pets, making the competition particularly fierce. Therefore, the beast tamers who can achieve good results in the China Beast Taming Competition are all truly skilled.

Cheng Huaijin's tone couldn't help but carry a hint of admiration: "Teng Yunhe is so beautiful~ I hope I can participate in the national competition someday!"

Afu looked down and asked, "Miss Cheng, have you contracted a pet?"

Cheng Huaijin shook his head: "I once had a pet beast, a super intelligent grass spirit. But she's no longer with me."

Afu comforted her, "Don't be sad, there will be other pets."
