Chapter 25 Teng Yunhe's Tears

Now that he had severed ties with Cheng Huaijin's parents, there was no need to bring up the matter of Cheng Huaijin's hospitalization anymore. However, considering their kindness in raising him, Cheng Huaijin decided to give it one last try.

"Sorry, the number you dialed is currently switched off, please..." Cheng Huaijin hung up the phone. After thinking for a moment, she went to the nurses' station and borrowed a hospital phone.

"Hello?" This time, the other end answered.

Hearing that familiar yet unfamiliar voice, Cheng Huaijin felt that his behavior was ridiculous.

“Mom,” she said.

There was a moment of silence on the other end: "Little Jin'er, what's wrong?"

Cheng Huaijin said expressionlessly, "I'm in the hospital. Could you help me pay my medical bills?"

Cheng's mother's expression turned anxious: "What happened? Why are you in the hospital? Are you sick?"

Cheng Huaijin replied, "Yes, my pet space is broken, so I probably won't be able to be a beast tamer anymore. My medical expenses are being covered by the school. Oh, by the way, I passed the entrance exam for Yaotian Junior High School. But I don't know if I can continue my studies, since I can't use pets anymore."

Cheng's mother said, "Then you'd better hurry up..."

The sound of snatching came from the other side, followed by Cheng's father's voice: "Huaijin, you are no longer our daughter. If you have any problems, go find the Wu family. Whether you can become a beast tamer or not in the future has nothing to do with us. That's all."

Cheng Huaijin pressed the record button, thanked the nurse, and returned to the ward.

Black Egg was sunbathing when it heard Cheng Huaijin return and happily exclaimed, "Hehe!"

"Yes, I'm back." Cheng Huaijin smiled and touched its shell.

For some reason, although they had no contractual relationship, their connection felt even stronger.

Cheng Huaijin found the doctor and asked to see Bobo's remains.

The doctor handed her a white box: "All the fragments that could be collected are here."

"Thank you." Cheng Huaijin apologized sincerely.

The external injuries had been mostly treated, and the hospital couldn't handle the rest, so Cheng Huaijin checked out. She had already called Aunt Fu before leaving the hospital.

Back at the Wu family home, Cheng Huaiji felt a bit like he was in another world as Aunt Fu showed him such concern and care.

"Oh dear, you little rascal, how did you get yourself into this state?" Aunt Fu helped her carry her things. "Why didn't you say something happened sooner? Can you manage on your own? Aunt Fu could have gone to help you!"

Cheng Huaijin replied with a smile, "It's alright, Aunt Fu. Look, I'm back perfectly fine. I'm so sorry to have worried you. I told you that you could just provide me with accommodation, but I'm really sorry to have troubled you like this."

"Why are you being so polite, child! We'll be family sooner or later." Aunt Fu helped her put her things away. "You can eat at home tonight. My chicken soup is almost ready. I'll go check on it."

Cheng Huaijin's heart tightened as he thought of the engagement.

Yes, there's no such thing as goodwill without a reason.

The Wu family treats her so well, isn't it just so they can get her to marry their son?

Every second of care I enjoy now comes at a price.

"Yun~" The Tengyun Crane appeared outside the window, its slender claws firmly gripping the railing, and called out to Cheng Huaijin.

Cheng Huaijin walked over: "Teng Yunhe, is there something you need?"

Teng Yunhe turned his head gracefully to look at her: "Yun~"

Black Egg Beast instinctively wanted to translate, but unexpectedly Cheng Huaijin walked over directly.

She had a strange feeling; although she couldn't understand what the pet was saying, she seemed to... seemed to understand what the pet meant...

Teng Yunhe had something for her.

She reached her hand to Teng Yunhe's face.

Compared to the body of the Tengyun Crane, its head appears much smaller and more delicate, easily covered by an adult's palm.

Teng Yunhe stared at Cheng Huaijin with his dark eyes, and a single tear slowly rolled down his cheek.

The instant his palm touched the tear, Cheng Huaijin felt a sting in his hand.

The white tear rolled smoothly in my palm without spreading.

"Yun~" Tengyunhe called softly, then spread its wings and flew away.

Cheng Huaijin watched Teng Yunhe leave, then looked down at the tears in his palm.

Teng Yunhe said this is something very useful for treatment.

Cheng Huaijin's gaze fell on the box containing the Bobo fragments.

She had a bold idea. Every time she got close to the box, she felt an attraction pulling her wrist closer to it.

If this attraction is the mutual attraction between fragments, then is it possible to wash out the fragments from her pet space?

That's a crazy idea.

Cheng Huaijin didn't want to think about the consequences anymore; she just wanted to give it a try.

She's been on guard for too long; she's going crazy.

So what if I die? Everyone has died before.

Everyone dies in their past life before they are born into this one, right?

Cheng Huaijin slipped to a corner of the back garden with the box in her pocket, took a deep breath, and dripped her tears into the box.

Countless fragments began to vaporize the moment they touched the tears.

White mist rose and enveloped Cheng Huaijin.

Cheng Huaijin felt the white vapor seeping into her pores and rushing into her body from all directions.

It hurts, it hurts, it hurts!

Blood began to seep from his pores, and Cheng Huaijin collapsed to the ground, clutching the grass tightly.

It hurts! It hurts so much!

Her silent screams were audible; she opened her mouth wide but no sound came out.

The black egg beast seemed to sense something in the room, looking around for Cheng Huaijin.

It seemed like a very long time had passed. Just when Cheng Huaijin was about to faint, she felt her pet space move.
