Chapter 143: Meeting the Two Children...

"Super, superpower?"

Shi Jin swallowed his saliva; his brain had trouble adapting to this development for a moment.

Is that really the level I can achieve?

In other words, can I really transform from a normal person into a super-powered person?

"What should I do?"

"It's very simple. Just follow Miss Fran."

"OK."

"The holy fire is bright, the holy light is shining, all my disciples——

“Meow meow meow!

"Go and accept the test of God!"

Fran took a step forward and slapped Shi Jin on the forehead with a claw.

Shi Jin's mind was empty. He unconsciously followed Fulan and finished reciting the commands that sounded like a dream talk. Suddenly, he felt a warm sensation at the back of his head.

【Confirm the blessing】

---

My head hurts...

Shi Jin covered his head with his hands and slowly opened his eyes.

The bed beneath him was harder than he had imagined; it was the kind of inferior stuff that even prisons wouldn't use.

When Shi Jin opened her eyes, she suddenly realized that someone had not replaced her mattress in the middle of the night, but that she was completely in the wilderness.

"Oh my god, the prison was stolen? I was left behind?

"No, where is the prison?"

Shi Jin rubbed his head and stood up. He looked around and sadly discovered that this did not seem to be a place suitable for human survival.

She was now at the top of a desolate hill. There was no trace of any animals in the surrounding wilderness, only some scattered dead grass and long-dead trees.

The breath of life seems to have left this earth.

“Is this still Hope City?”

Shi Jin asked a confused question, and at the same time, a bigger doubt appeared in her heart:

What is Hope City?

She felt as if a part of her brain was missing, as if a mysterious force had erased all her past memories and experiences.

But she did not become a blank slate. Instead, she still retained some of her previous habits and knowledge.

One's memory is like elusive mist. If one does not think about it, one can subconsciously mobilize some of one's memories and skills, but if one tries to think about it deliberately, one will gain nothing.

In the barren land, even seeing wild animals was a luxury. Shi Jin's instinct for survival overcame her desire to die. She straightened her clothes, randomly chose a direction and began to explore the surroundings.

Layers of clouds lingered in the entire sky, and Shi Jin felt that he was completely unable to identify the direction and basic time.

The surrounding ground was completely empty except for hardened scorched earth.

Shi Jin looked at a bare mountain in the distance, thinking that the view would be wider at a higher place, so he walked towards that direction.

When she reached the top of the mountain, she came to a dead tree and looked around, but didn't see anything of value.

She looked carefully at the dead tree next to her and was disappointed to find that the bark of the tree had completely peeled off at some point.

There's really nothing to eat now.

At this moment, a crisp voice suddenly sounded from behind Shi Jin.

"You're late."

This made her hair stand on end and cold sweat suddenly appeared, because she had just checked the surrounding terrain, and she was the only living thing in her field of vision, not to mention people.

So where does this sound come from?

Shi Jin turned his head tremblingly, his neck as stiff as a poorly maintained mechanical structure.

Not far behind her, a child in a white robe was kneeling on the ground.

The child looked no more than ten years old, which should have been his most active age, but the palest look on his face seemed even more paler than his coat.

And one meter in front of him, another cushion was waiting.

Shi Jin looked around again to confirm that the other party was indeed calling him.

Just as she was about to step forward to ask for some basic information, another voice suddenly sounded beside her:

"Oh, so it's here. It took me a while to find it."

Shi Jin was startled, but considering what he had just experienced, he did not have any exaggerated reaction.

She looked sideways and saw another child in a green robe trotting up to the child in the white robe while greeting him.

Compared to the kid who was already kneeling, this new guy was obviously more energetic.

He sat down on the empty mat in a carefree manner, and the two of them started chatting casually.

Shi Jin felt like an outsider. Not only was the style of his clothes incompatible with the other party's, but the two people seemed unable to see him.

But these are the only two living things here besides himself.

She listened to the conversation between the two children in robes while trying to get closer to them.

"You are defeated, do you still dare to challenge me again?"

"It was just one move last time. It's nothing."

The pale-faced, calm-speaking kid didn't say anything more. He flipped his hands over and a rumbling sound came from the ground between them.

A low stone table slowly emerged from the ground. Shi Jin looked at it carefully from the side. There was nothing on the table, only a dozen narrow grooves running horizontally and vertically, dividing the entire table into small pieces.

Shi Jin had never seen this thing in front of her, but through their conversation and some inexplicable feeling, she thought that they were about to start a special contest.

She had nowhere to go and could only stand quietly by the side.

Watching the small stone table gradually taking shape, the child in the green robe reached out and grabbed in the void in front of him, and soon his hands touched two wooden jars.

The two plump jars were filled with black and white oblong chess pieces.

He placed the two quickly formed jars in the middle of the square table and said with a smile:

"You choose first."

The pale-faced boy still looked emotionless:

"Last time I played white, this time I'll play black."

The two of them each took their own jar, and Shi Jin suddenly felt the temperature of the surrounding environment begin to change rapidly.

On one side, the child in white brought gusts of cold wind, which was so chilly that Shi Jin shivered. On the other side, it was like spring had arrived, and every white chess piece seemed to be full of vitality.

"Then let's get started."

When the boy in green robe finished his fairy tale, Shi Jin suddenly interrupted him and said:

"Excuse me, where is this place?"

This time, her voice really reached the ears of the two children. They looked at her together as if they had just noticed the person standing next to them.

“This is, of course, a place for chess.”

The green-robed child said with a smile.

"Leave quickly and don't disturb us."

The white-robed child clearly had little patience.

At this time, Shi Jin was also thirsty and hungry, and his moral bottom line was falling as his satiety decreased.
