Chapter 189, /.

Si Yan was so excited that she couldn't stop. She had successfully melted the iron.

Consider this: the oxidation-reduction reaction of iron requires a high temperature of over 1,000 degrees Celsius, which ordinary firewood simply cannot meet, hence the need for charcoal.

If iron is melted into molten iron, ordinary items simply cannot hold it, so pottery is needed.

To obtain iron, she made charcoal and pottery. With so many steps involved, if one didn't go smoothly, the rest would be very difficult!

Fortunately, she did it all smoothly!

Tomorrow is the sixth day of the Great Competition of Wise Men. There are two days left to complete it.

She gripped the snake-like beastman's hand, her fingers tightening unconsciously with excitement. The snake-beastman, unconcerned, smiled at her and said, "Si Yan, you're still going to participate in the fourth round of the Priestess Competition, right?"

Si Yan looked up. "Yes, that's right."

While in the world of inheritance, she had already learned the priest dance from Bai Feng.

She could try summoning the Beast God; whether the Beast God would give her face was up to the Beast God.

The snake-beastman flicked his tongue and said, "If you want to participate in the Priestly Competition, you may need a priest's scepter."

Si Yan then remembered this matter.

"Yes, I need a scepter."

The snake-beastman said, "I know a small shop in Beast City that sells priest's scepters. Let's go take a look."

Si Yan smiled and nodded at the snake-beastman, and the two of them strolled around the streets together.

It was a tiny shop, barely out of the corner of the Beast City. Though called a shop, it didn't have a wooden shed like Si Yan's. Instead, it had a triangular roof made of wood, and three sides were covered with large foliage and turf. At first glance, it looked like an ordinary little grassy slope.

Si Yan, Wang, and the children entered the shop together.

"Is anyone here? Is the boss here?" Xiao Dongchi asked, looking around.

Inside the small shop, there was only a goat-beastman cub of about eight or nine years old who said to Xiao Dongchi, "Are you looking for Grandpa? Grandpa went to dig grass and will be back in a while."

After speaking, the goat-like beastman suddenly saw Si Yan and then shouted, "Ah, you, I know you! You're the lord's wife! I watched your competition. Grandpa said that what you made was the most considerate of us weak beastmen!"

The little goat-man was flushed with excitement, and his attitude completely changed. "Wait here, I'll call Grandpa right now!"

Si Yan quickly said, "Don't rush, don't rush!"

Unable to contain his excitement, the little orc ran out and soon brought back Grandpa Goat, covered in grass.

"Yamane, why are you in such a hurry all of a sudden? Oh dear." Grandpa Goat paused when he saw Si Yan, then stroked his beard with a grin. "The Lady of the Lord is here."

Si Yan smiled and said, "Hello, Grandpa Goat. I heard you have a priest's scepter here, and I would like to buy it."

"Oh, I understand, I understand." Grandpa Goat walked to the side.

He took out a naturally recessed piece of wood, inside which lay about a dozen wooden scepters.

Grandpa Goat said, “Priest’s scepters are usually made of wood and bone. I have some made of willow wood and crocodile bone, some made of kui wood and tiger skull, and this one too. Look, this is driftwood… Lady, would you like to try it?”

The old gecko crawled out of Si Yan's space, its eyes darting around as it looked at the dozen or so wooden scepters.

Si Yan casually picked up a priest's scepter. It was a black wooden handle with a bird or beast skull embedded in the top. Scattered around it were a pile of small bones and red animal hides.

It has a rather menacing air about it.

Grandpa Goat continued, "This handle was made from a tree struck by lightning on the mountaintop and the skull of an eagle that died after living for a hundred years."

Si Yan held the scepter in her hand and twirled it around, casually reciting a couple of priestly incantations.

However, the results from the scepter were not ideal.

“This one isn’t suitable,” the old gecko said enthusiastically. “Try the others.”

Si Yan took out another one. This one looked much thinner and was lighter when she took it out.

Grandpa Goat explained, "This is made from aquatic wood and the bones of grass carp found in the water. It's quite mild."

Si Yan also tried it, but the energy she received was even less.

The old gecko shook its head and said, "No, no."

Si Yan put down the scepters and tried them one by one, but none of them were suitable.

Si Yan fell silent. "How about we just buy any one?"

The old gecko immediately shouted, "What are you buying? If you haven't found the right one, just wait a bit longer, lest you get distracted by other unsuitable scepters."

This is like someone who is most used to using a broadsword, but then insists on practicing swordsmanship, and ends up not only failing to master swordsmanship but also forgetting the feel for the broadsword.

Si Yan said, "Without the scepter, the power of the priest's dance will be greatly reduced, and I'm afraid I won't be able to summon the beast god then."

The old gecko scratched its ear. "Don't worry about that. Maybe if you just stand there, the Beast God will come out."

Si Yan glanced at him lightly. "I'm not asleep, I won't have wild dreams."

The snake-beastman lowered his eyes and said to Si Yan, "If there isn't a suitable one, then let's give up."

Si Yan put down the scepter, slightly regretful.

Grandpa Goat stroked his beard and said, "Lady, don't worry, there are still a few days until the Priestly Competition. I'll try to make you a priest's scepter these next few days. Come to me again before the Priestly Competition, and maybe you'll have it."

Although Si Yan didn't have much hope, she still thanked him and said, "Okay, thank you, Grandpa Goat."

After saying that, Si Yan gave a few green crystals to the goat-like beastman.
