Chapter Eleven: Finding a Rabbit

"Please, don't hit me!"

A weak and feeble voice from the dark figure rang in her ears.

By the moonlight, Jiang Cha could vaguely recognize that the dark figure was a young man with silver hair. She couldn't see his face clearly, but he could tell from his voice that he was no ordinary person.

"Are you from the West District?"

Jiang Cha remained vigilant, still holding the stick, and asked, "What is your beast form?"

White hair, could it be a polar bear?

"No...no, I'm from the rabbit tribe. I had a conflict with my tribe and someone pushed me into the river."

"A white rabbit? Let me see its true form."

"..."

Are you lying to me?

"..."

"Hey... speak up!"

Jiang Cha mustered her courage and went over to poke the man's shoulder with the stick, but there was no reaction.

"She's fainted?"

She tried probing twice more, but the other party still didn't react.

After thinking it over, Jiang Cha still dragged the person to the safe zone she had created.

As she got closer, she finally saw the man's face clearly.

With his pale face and narrow, alluring eyes, if it weren't for the Adam's apple bobbing up and down his neck, Jiang Cha would have thought he was a woman.

It's so beautiful, could it really be a rabbit?

Jiang Cha pulled open his black robe and found that the man's clothes were much better than those of their tribe, seemingly woven from hemp grass.

"Please...please, don't send me away."

Tears welled in the man's eyes, and he murmured softly, as if he were trapped in a nightmare.

His fair chest rose and fell slightly with his breath, gleaming alluringly in the moonlight.

Jiang Cha's hand, which was holding the black robe, trembled. She felt like a vicious wolf bullying a little white rabbit.

She breathed a sigh of relief after the check found no wound.

If it were an orc from the West District, there would definitely be battle scars on its body. This person's skin is fair and smooth, so it's more likely that it's a rabbit.

As the early autumn night grew chilly, Jiang Cha couldn't help but hug her arms.

We need to light a fire.

With that in mind, she picked up a stick and began searching for dry branches, while mentally opening the points mall to find tools to start a fire.

Torch: 5 points

Lighter: 20 points

[Matchstick: 5 points]

[Firestone: 5 points]

Lighters are the most expensive, flints are the most cost-effective, but she doesn't know how to use them, so after thinking about it, she bought two boxes of matches and put them in her space.

Purchase successful, points balance: 20

While Jiang Cha was busy searching for firewood, she didn't notice that the man leaning against the tree had already opened his eyes.

The probing gaze followed the girl's back, and when she turned around, she returned to her half-dead, unconscious state.

"That's strange. Why did I feel like someone was watching me just now?"

Jiang Cha searched around cautiously, but after finding nothing, she got busy again.

...

As night deepened, the pile of branches grew larger and larger.

"Damn!"

The light from the match illuminated Jiang Cha's slightly tired face. Just as she was about to throw it into the woodpile, she noticed the man not far away tremble.

"Heavenly Fire!"

The man pitifully hugged his arms, looking at the small flame with fear.

"You're such a coward."

Jiang Cha felt a little more at ease and threw the small flame that was almost burning her fingers into the fire.

As night fell, the crackling sound of burning firewood echoed between the two men.

"May I have your name?"

Looking at the timid, silver-haired man, Jiang Cha raised the stick and poked him again.

Feng Mu's eyebrows twitched, and he dared not speak his anger, so he whispered, "My name is Xiao Mu, my beast form is a lop-eared rabbit, I am twenty years old this year, and I do not have a partner yet. Do you want to become my partner, sister?"

“My name is Jiang Cha, and I come from the Mouse Mountain tribe. Are you really a lop-eared rabbit? Can I see your beast form?”

Jiang Cha loves rabbits, especially white ones. Her family used to keep one when she was little, and she fed it so well that it became plump and white.

Unfortunately, her father peeled and ate it while she was at school, and she was sad for a long time.

"No, I'll only show it to my partner."

"All right."

Jiang Cha regretfully withdrew her gaze.

She didn't know that the rabbit tribe had such a rule. She only knew that the rabbit tribe was the most cowardly tribe. It was said that they rarely left the tribe. They grew their own wild vegetables, were self-sufficient, ran extremely fast, and were best at escaping.

However, the rabbit tribe itself is extremely weak in combat. Not only are they the most popular prey for wild beasts, but the orcs of the western district also demand that the rabbit tribe offer up female offspring. Even though the rabbit tribe has a strong reproductive capacity, they are still recognized as the most cowardly tribe.

What is that?

"Um?"

Jiang Cha followed his gaze to the matchbox in her hand. She clasped her hands together, snapped it into her spatial storage, and then asked, "What are you talking about?"

Empty hands waved in front of the man's eyes, making him tremble with fear.

Just like the rumored rabbit tribe, they are too timid. But this makes it easier for Jiang Cha to handle them.

She needs to find a suitable place to live to prepare for childbirth; she can't withstand the giant beasts that roam during the day.

Seemingly startled by her, it took Xiaomu a while to come to his senses.

"Sister...why are you here all alone?"

"Don't call me 'sister,' it reminds me of a disgusting person. Just call me Jiang Cha. I just turned 18 yesterday and found out I'm a virgin, and then I was kicked out today."

"Ginger... ginger tea... so you're just like me..."

The lop-eared rabbit Xiao Mu lowered its head in disappointment. "I'm also an oddball in the tribe. They can't accept me."
