Chapter 109 Get some rest

Chapter 109 Get some rest

Even so, she still cannot accept meeting them so openly at the same time.

Shu Ning, in Xiao Chong's arms, let him lift her from the water. She glanced back at Mo Li, who had already transformed into his original form as a dragon and continued swimming into the river. His blue figure appeared lonely and stubborn under the moonlight.

As she rose from the water, the moonlight shattered and reformed on the surface, much like her complex emotional world.

Two beastly husbands, two completely different ways of loving, and she must find a balance between them.

“Still looking? You’ll ‘see’ it tomorrow night,” Xiao Chong said, noticing her looking at the male behind her. “Come on, put your clothes on.”

After dressing Shu Ning in the new animal skin dress he had brought in advance, he dried her hair.

He noticed that although she was thin now, she looked much healthier than when she was just skinny.

His pupils contracted slightly when he suddenly noticed the scar on her back.

What did she go through during the days he was away from the wolf pack?

His breathing became heavy as he recalled her going alone to the desolate marshland as a female.

She used to always ask him to go out with her, and now that he's not around, she's hurt like this.

“Ningning,” Xiao Chong said.

"Hmm?" Shu Ning replied.

"You must take me with you when you go on long trips in the future, okay?" he said gently, but with a firm tone.

"Mm," Shu Ning replied, curious as to why he suddenly said that.

“Even if I’m not there, you have to wait until I come back before you go, understand?” he emphasized.

“I’ve got it,” Shu Ning said.

"Mmm." Xiao Chong looked at her being so obedient, a hint of tenderness flashing in his eyes.

"How do you think of this outfit?" he asked.

"It feels so good." A blush appeared on her face as the man dressed her with his own hands.

Upon hearing Shu Ning's answer, Xiao Chong's eyes flickered slightly, and then he picked her up with satisfaction.

"Are you sleepy?" he asked softly.

"A little bit." Shu Ning swayed back step by step in his warm embrace, her eyelids almost closing.

"Go to sleep if you're sleepy," Xiao Chong said in a low voice, as if coaxing a child, and gently bounced her arm around his.

Upon hearing Xiao Chong's words, Shu Ning quickly closed her eyes and fell asleep peacefully in his arms.

Silvery-blue moonlight filtered through the tree canopy, casting dappled shadows on the path leading back into the cave.

Xiao Chong's silver-gray fur gleamed with a metallic sheen in the moonlight. He tightened his arms, holding the female in his embrace more securely.

"Brother Xiao Chong."

"Hmm?" Xiao Chong heard the female in his arms suddenly call out. He looked down at her and found that she had closed her eyes, her consciousness lingering between sleep and reality, murmuring softly.

The moonlight fell perfectly on her fair face, outlining her delicate features.

A slight smile played on his lips, and tenderness filled his eyes. "Go to sleep."

Xiao Chong's nose brushed against the top of her head unintentionally, and the wolf's unique keen sense of smell caught the faint sweet fragrance—a fresh scent like wildflowers after the rain.

His throat bobbed involuntarily, and then he let out a low moan.

After arriving at Shu Ning Cave, he gently placed her on the bed while she was asleep, covered her with a blanket, and then quietly slipped into the covers.

He looked at the female sleeping peacefully beside him, reached out and smoothed the stray hairs on her forehead, and couldn't help but smile.

Then I lay down and fell asleep.

The night is peaceful and filled with happiness.

The next morning—

Shu Ning woke up from her sleep and opened her eyes to find that Xiao Chong was no longer beside her.

Looking at the sunlight streaming through the crack in the door, she guessed it was almost noon.

Thinking of last night, she couldn't help but blush and raise the corners of her mouth before burying her head in the blankets.

A moment later, she got up and moved, only to find that her body was still sore and weak. Just as she was about to get up, she saw Xiao Chong gently open the door and come in.

"She's awake," Xiao Chong said, looking at Shu Ning who had already sat up.

"Um."

"Are you hungry?" He sat down on the edge of the bed and handed her the roasted meat and fruit.

"I'm hungry." She said shyly, looking at the man she had just slept with the night before.

Xiao Chong picked up a meat skewer and held it to her lips, and Shu Ning opened her mouth and took a bite.

"Mmm, delicious!" she said as she ate.

"I'm glad Ningning is happy," Xiao Chong replied. "How are you feeling today? Is it still in pain?"

Hearing Xiao Chong ask this question, Shu Ning blushed and gently shook her head, saying, "It doesn't hurt."

"It's a little sour," she added.

"It's my fault," Xiao Chong said remorsefully, then added, "I'll try to be more careful next time."

Upon hearing this, Shu Ning was so embarrassed that she could no longer calmly eat the barbecue. She buried her head in his stomach, and although her face was flushed, her ears were also blushing.

Looking at the shy female on his body, Xiao Chong's lips curled into a slight smile.

He gently stroked her head, feeling the shyness and dependence of the female on him.

"Eat quickly, it'll get cold soon," he reminded him.

"Okay." Shu Ning raised her head again, then leaned against him and continued eating.

"Brother Xiao Chong, you're so kind," she exclaimed as she ate.

"Is that all? Ningning." Xiao Chong pinched the tip of her nose.

"Yes, Xiao Chong is the best person to me of all!" Shu Ning immediately affirmed.

Hearing this, Xiao Chong felt a surge of warmth in his heart, and then said in a low voice, "It's what I should do to be good to Ningning."

"Xiao Chong, what are your plans for today?" Shu Ning asked.

"Today... we might need to train the newly selected orcs," Xiao Chong said, looking at Shu Ning. "What's wrong, Ning Ning? Is there anything you want to say?"

Shu Ning really wanted him to be with her today. For some reason, afterwards she felt even more attached to him, both physically and emotionally.

But when I heard that he was busy, I didn't tell him about this idea.

"It's alright, Brother Xiao Chong," she said calmly, though she was reluctant to part with him.

Xiao Chong noticed the strange look in her eyes, a slight smile appeared on his lips, he patted her head, and leaned down to kiss her forehead.

"Ningning, be good. I'll come find you after I'm done with my work."

"Mmm!" Upon hearing this, Shu Ning nodded and continued happily eating his barbecue.

Xiao Chong stayed with her for a while before getting up and leaving.

As Shu Ning watched Xiao Chong's departing figure and thought about what had happened between them, she felt a deep sense of satisfaction.

"Hehe, host, do you need to handle this one?"

007 suddenly appeared, shattering Shu Ning's pleasant mood.

Hearing it ask that question, Shu Ning became uncertain. In the past, she would always think about how to handle it, but now that she had the ability to handle it herself, she hesitated.

"Why ask so many questions!" Shu Ning replied.

This system often disappears at crucial moments when needed, but reappears on its own when not needed.

"Take a good rest now, host." 007 said and then disappeared.

Shu Ning wondered, what kind of riddle was it playing with her now?

Is it about what I promised Mo Li tonight, or is something else about to happen?
