Chapter 134 Testing
"By the way, Xuanmo, where is your mother?" the observant Mo Li asked.
“Yes, your father was drugged by him, so what if your mother was also drugged…” Jin Tong finished speaking and observed Xuan Mo.
The others also looked at Xuanmo with concern.
Upon hearing this, Xuanmo stopped in his tracks, a bad premonition rising in his heart. He frowned, and after a moment, he suddenly turned around and strode quickly in one direction.
"Hey, Xuanmo!" Jintong called out when she saw his hurried appearance.
"Let's go, follow them." Mo Li said and followed Xuan Mo.
The others then followed.
Upon arriving at Xuanqing Cave, they saw Xuanmo grabbing the collar of the guard in front of the cave and questioning him.
"Your Highness... please, please don't make things difficult for me," the guard pleaded, his face pale.
"What's going on?" Nightmare asked.
Jin Tong ran inside and looked around but found no one. He came out panting and shook his head, saying, "I didn't see anyone."
“He knows,” Xuan Mo said, his eyes darkening as he looked at the guard.
"I... Your Highness, I really don't know," the guard said timidly, his eyes darting around.
"You won't talk, huh? I think you don't want your life anymore!" Nightmare said, taking out a bone knife from his waist and pressing it against his neck.
The guard closed his eyes in fear, trembling all over but refusing to utter a sound.
Even as the blade drew blood from his neck, he kept his mouth tightly shut.
Seeing that he refused to speak, Yan frowned slightly and loosened her grip a little.
"Was it Hei Teng who threatened you to stop you from saying it?" Mo Li asked.
The guard lowered his head, his eyebrows furrowed, and dared not utter a sound.
Seeing that he remained silent, Mo Li pressed on, "What did he threaten you with?"
The guard remained silent.
“Let me do it,” Jin Tong said.
Yan and Xuanmo released him, but the guard, who had just gained his freedom, was grabbed by Jintong's clothes at the chest the next second.
"You... what are you going to do..." The guard looked at his terrifying red eyes, a hint of panic flashing in his eyes, and stammered, but the next second he was bewitched by Jin Tong.
In an instant, the person went from being frightened to being stunned, completely at Jin Tong's beck and call.
"Where did your queen go?" Jin Tong asked, her eyes alluring as she spoke.
"Prison...xue." The guard's eyes were unfocused, and he mumbled incoherently.
Upon hearing this, Xuanmo immediately turned and headed towards the prison where the prisoners were held.
Seeing this, Yan and Moli followed.
"Who captured her, and why was she taken there?" Shu Ning stepped forward and asked.
“The new…leader,” the guard said slowly, “she discovered that the king had been drugged.”
"Hasn't your king noticed that she's missing?" Shu Ning pressed.
"The new leader lied to him, saying the Queen had gone back to visit her mother and wouldn't be back for a while," the guard mumbled, still half-asleep.
"Since you know all this, why would he let you stay here?" Xiao Chong asked.
“He told me… to stay here so that no one would notice anything amiss,” the guard said.
"What did he threaten you about?" Shu Ning pressed.
“He cut off my female snake tail and threatened me… if I told anyone, he would… kill her…” The guard’s eyes welled up with tears as he spoke, his voice choked with emotion.
As his emotions fluctuated, the guard slowly began to regain his senses.
"Jin Tong, let him go," Shu Ning said, patting Jin Tong's shoulder.
After regaining his senses, the guard realized he had inexplicably lost control of his emotions. He wiped away his tears and looked at them with fear in his eyes when he saw that Xuan Mo was gone.
"Don't worry, he won't be able to keep this up for long," Jin Tong said calmly, patting his shoulder.
Afterwards, Jin Tong and the others went to find Xuan Mo.
When they found the prison cave, they saw that all the black snakes inside and outside the cave had already fallen.
But they didn't actually die; they just pretended to fight back after seeing that the person who came was their eldest prince.
Some deliberately ran into the knife in Xuanmo's hand, while others punched themselves twice and fell down.
Between a biological son and an adopted son, who would be foolish enough not to distinguish between the two?
Seeing that the three people on the ground had no fatal injuries, they guessed what had happened and continued searching inside.
When they reached the fork in the road, they didn't know which way to go.
At this moment, a guard who had seen Shu Ning before secretly pointed out the way to them with his finger, and then pretended to collapse because he couldn't support himself.
After finding Xuan Mo, he was holding Xuan Qing, who was lying on the ground. He was radiating a cold aura, and his body was trembling slightly due to his grief.
"Xuanmo, what happened to your mother?" Jintong asked, frowning.
"She..." Yan started to speak, but glanced at Xuan Mo and didn't continue.
Looking at Xuan Qing, who was lying on the ground with a pale face, white lips, and no life, but whose appearance was still neat, the group frowned and remained silent.
Shu Ning squatted down and placed her hand in front of her nose, but couldn't feel a breath.
She then checked her pulse and, finding a faint beat, immediately took out the Mystic Crystal and placed it on her chest.
The five beastmen beside her looked at her with suspicion as they saw her doing this.
A moment later, Xuan Qing's eyes, which had been tightly closed, began to move slightly.
"Look at her eyes!" Jin Tong exclaimed excitedly after noticing them.
The other beastmen looked over after hearing this.
And indeed, there was a reaction.
The previously tense expressions began to turn expectant.
They were all intently observing her changes.
Seeing Xuan Qing slowly recover, Xuan Mo's eyes flickered slightly, and he held his breath, not daring to move.
Then she slowly opened her eyes, and upon seeing Xuan Mo before her, she instantly became excited, calling out in a hoarse voice, "Xuan Mo..."
"Cough cough cough..." Her throat became dry and hoarse, and she started coughing.
"Have some water." Shu Ning took out a bowl of water from her spatial storage and gave it to her.
The others, except for Yan, all looked at Shu Ning in shock.
"How are you feeling now?" Xuanmo asked after she finished drinking.
"Your father was poisoned with the Forget-Me-Not Herb by the Black Teng..." she said immediately, grabbing Xuanmo's hand.
"Don't worry, he already knows that Xuanmo is his son," Yan said.
"That's good..." Xuan Qing breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, her voice hoarse.
"Let's go back first," Mo Li said.
Then Xuanmo picked up Xuanqing and carried her out.
At that moment, upon hearing that they were leaving, one of the black snake orcs quietly got up and left.
"Someone's there!" Yan noticed the commotion outside and immediately gave chase.
"You guys go back first." After saying that, Mo Li followed Yan out.
"Then let's go back first," Xiao Chong said.
“Mm,” Xuanmo replied.
"Xuanmo, how did you know I was here?" Xuanqing asked.
“It’s Jin Tong,” Xuan Mo said.
Hearing this, Xuan Qing turned to look at Jin Tong, who was walking behind him, and said, "Thank you, Jin Tong."
"Hehe, don't be so polite," Jin Tong said shyly. "But your quick recovery isn't thanks to me."
"What is that?" Xuan Qing asked, puzzled.
“It’s Shu Ning,” Xuan Mo said, a hint of tenderness flashing in his eyes.
“Yes, it’s Shu Ning. Otherwise, we would have all thought you were already…” Jin Tong stopped there, “Anyway, it’s good that you’re alright.”
