Chapter 204 Entering the Lion Clan
It was already afternoon, so they found a large tree nearby to rest and replenish their energy.
"Once inside, we need to first find out the guard situation, and second, find out what entrances and exits are available..." Yi Yuan analyzed.
“Alright, we’ll split up then. Jin Tong and I will go and find out about the guards,” Xuan Lin said.
“That’s when I went to find the entrance and exit,” Yi Yuan said.
"Yiyuan, I'll go with you then," Shu Ning said when she saw Yiyuan going alone.
“Hmm…” Yi Yuan replied hesitantly.
A while later, Jin Tong was lying on the tree, while Mo Li was holding the sleeping Shu Ning and leaning against the tree trunk.
Yi Yuan sat with his eyes closed, resting, while Xuan Lin kept a close eye on the griffins in the sky.
Everyone waited for night to fall.
night--
"Ningning..."
"Shh!"
Just as Jin Tong was about to call out to Shu Ning, Yi Yuan stopped him, saying silently, "Let her stay here."
Jin Tong nodded as he looked at the sleeping Shu Ning, and then quietly set off with Xuan Lin and Yi Yuan.
After descending the mountain, they followed Yi Yuan and infiltrated the Lion Clan River.
Early morning.
"Hmm..." Shu Ning woke up and suddenly remembered their mission, so she sat up in surprise.
The people around him had disappeared.
When she saw Mo Li still holding her, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Mo Li, where are they?" Shu Ning asked.
"They've already set off." Mo Li felt the female in his arms wake up and opened her eyes after hearing Shu Ning's voice.
"When did this happen?" Shu Ning asked.
"The first half of the night," Mo Li said.
"Why didn't they call us? Did they forget about us?" Shu Ning said as she stood up.
"Ningning, be careful." Mo Li pulled her back under the tree.
After observing all night, he noticed that the guarding griffin orcs would occasionally circle around.
They were shielded by bushes in front of them and trees overhead, so they were not detected when they flew to the vicinity.
"Mo Li, shall we set off?" Shu Ning looked up at him and said.
"Ningning, let's wait here for their news," Mo Li said.
“But I’m worried about them. We agreed to set off together,” Shu Ning said.
“Mo Li, you can fly, and I can teleport. If they are discovered or encounter any danger, we can take them away in time.”
“And now neither of us are with them…” Shu Ning was frightened by the thought, and she frowned as she looked at the Lion Clan territory not far away.
It was still dark, and the stars were still visible in the sky. The lion-clan orcs had not yet risen.
"Ningning, don't worry too much about them. I believe they'll be back soon," Mo Li said, patting her head.
"Hmm." Shu Ning looked at Mo Li and took out the dried beast meat and fruit stored in her spatial storage. "Mo Li, here you go."
"Okay." Mo Li took the food.
Shu Ning had just sat back down and was eating dried beast meat when she heard 007's voice.
"Host, your current level is high enough to teleport to the Beastman's side."
Upon hearing the system's notification, Shu Ning's eyes lit up. She turned to Mo Li and said, "Mo Li, I have a way to appear next to them."
A hint of surprise flashed in Mo Li's eyes. "Ning Ning, I remember you told me before that your teleportation ability allows you to appear in places you've been before."
Shu Ning nodded, "Yes, but later my abilities improved, and I was able to appear beside you again."
“Hmm…” Mo Li nodded, “That won’t do either. They’ve entrusted you to me, so I can’t let you get hurt.”
"What if they get hurt?" Shu Ning asked, frowning.
“They’ll be fine, Ningning. Let’s wait for them here, okay?” Mo Li said.
Seeing that he wouldn't budge, Shu Ning stopped insisting.
As dawn broke, some griffins and lion-beastmen began to emerge.
Griffins are known for their keen eyesight and powerful claws, and with specialized training, they are more formidable than ordinary vultures.
If they spot you, you'll likely be surrounded and grabbed by their sharp claws.
The thought of that scene sent a shiver down her spine.
"Mo Li, wait for me here," Shu Ning said. "Be careful while you're here alone."
She disappeared after she finished speaking.
"Ningning!" Mo Li called out.
The next second, Shu Ning appeared in a dark place.
The light was dim, and she guessed it was inside a cave, and there was also the sound of water.
She cautiously observed her surroundings, thinking to herself, "007, this doesn't make sense. Where are they? Weren't they supposed to be with my beast husband?"
"Where is he?" she asked in a low voice, puzzled.
"who!?"
Before 007 could answer, a strange male voice was heard.
She turned around and saw a handsome young man with blond hair, pale skin, and brown vertical pupils not far away.
Upon hearing the noise, he immediately got up.
“It’s you.”
He recalled the scene of seeing her asleep on Fenghai Mountain that day, and his pupils contracted slightly, his eyes narrowed.
"What are you doing here?" He walked up to Shu Ning and asked coldly.
"I..." Before Shu Ning could figure out what had happened with the teleportation, she saw him step forward and quickly took two steps back.
Observing his expression, she breathed a sigh of relief as his eyes didn't seem particularly fierce, but she remained vigilant.
"Speak," he said again.
"How was I supposed to know I'd be here?" Shu Ning said.
Seeing that he didn't believe her, she continued, "I also want to know why I'm here. I woke up here."
Upon hearing her words, the man's gaze shifted from wariness to confusion.
Thinking back to how Huang Ren had tried to capture her just two days ago, and now that she had suddenly appeared here, he couldn't help but suspect that Huang Ren was behind it all.
"It's dangerous here. I advise you to leave immediately," he warned in a cold tone.
"I want to leave too..." Shu Ning said, seeing that he didn't intend to arrest her.
She hasn't found them yet, otherwise this trip would have been for nothing.
Judging from his attire and demeanor, he must hold a certain status here.
If Jin Tong and the others are captured, perhaps we can get information out of him.
“But I think I’m lost,” she said.
Seeing that she didn't seem to be faking it, the man sighed softly and said, "I'll send someone to escort you out."
"Hey, wait a minute." Shu Ning quickly said when she heard he was going to see her off, "I'm hungry, can I eat something here before I go?"
He frowned slightly, and after a moment of silence, he said, "Alright, come with me."
“Okay,” Shu Ning replied, following behind him.
"Wait." He suddenly stopped.
Shu Ning didn't expect him to stop suddenly and almost bumped into him.
Seeing this, the man helped her up and steadied her before taking off his cloak and draping it over her shoulders.
When Shu Ning saw him coming, she took two steps back.
"No outsiders are allowed here, you'd better put this on." Seeing Shu Ning step back, he continued to drape it over her shoulders.
"Thank you," Shu Ning said. "What's your name?"
She thought that when they attacked later, she might consider sparing his life.
Huang Ying paused as she put the hood on her cloak.
“Shadow,” he said.
“Oh…” Shu Ning nodded.
His name reminded her of nightmares; it turned out that these lion-tiger beastmen preferred single names.
It seems that the stronger the orc, the more they prefer simple names.
“My name is Ning,” she said.
