Chapter 251 Going Back
"So what?" Han She's eyes turned icy, his fists clenched tightly, and he said in a chilling tone, "If they dare to come, I'll make sure they die a horrible death!"
"It's those guys again..." A cold glint flashed in Yi Yuan's serpentine eyes, and the chilling aura around him grew even stronger. "It seems the lesson we taught them last time wasn't enough!"
Jin Tong stroked his chin and pondered for a moment before looking at Leng Ye and asking, "Where are they now? Are they waiting for us outside?"
"Don't worry, I've taken care of everything in the sea." Leng Ye looked at Jin Tong and said seriously, "It's just that once you leave the East Cang Sea, I can't guarantee your safety outside."
“So…” He pursed his thin lips, looked at them, and a look of expectation appeared in his eyes: “I’ll take you back.”
“Many of my beastmen are quite fierce, and they’re not afraid of those who come looking for death,” he said with a sinister glint in his silver-blue eyes.
"Escort..." A thoughtful look flashed in Han She's eyes. "Alright."
Then he turned to look at Shu Ning, "to prevent any further unforeseen events on the way."
"Okay." Xiao Chong replied, taking Shu Ning's hand and looking at Leng Ye, "Then I'll have to trouble you."
"No need to be polite." Leng Ye glanced at Xiao Chong, a hint of barely perceptible hostility in his eyes, before transforming back into his original form, his shark tail stirring up the surrounding waters.
"Keep up!" he shouted.
Afterwards, Mo Li reverted to her original form and left with Shu Ning.
The others followed up to cover the rear.
"Mo Li, you look much stronger after you went to the Dragon Vein last night." Yan noticed that Mo Li's dragon scales stood out prominently as they swam in the water.
“Yes, indeed, I feel full of power.” Mo Li said, swaying her dragon body as she followed behind Leng Ye.
Just as the group set off, sea creatures along the way, including some orcs abandoned by other races, appeared from the nearby coral reefs.
They silently formed two lines around them.
"I didn't expect you to bring so many subordinates!" Jin Tong said with a look of surprise in his eyes after seeing this.
Leng Ye didn't turn around, his muffled voice coming from the water, "It's just in case."
"After all... I don't want anything to happen to you."
A moment later, the group arrived at the beach, stopped to tidy themselves up, and dried their hair.
When the orcs guarding the area saw Leng Ye and Mo Li, they intended to catch them red-handed when they weren't paying attention.
Unexpectedly, the appearance of a group of powerful orcs later caused their original plan to fall apart.
"Let's go, we can't beat them..." an orc whispered.
"Leng Ye, are your subordinates still functioning normally once they leave the sea?" Yan asked, looking at the sea monsters who had transformed into human form after leaving the sea.
“They’re not that fragile,” Leng Ye said.
After leaving the seabed, Shu Ning noticed that many trees on land had already begun to shed their leaves.
In an instant, the sea breeze blew by, giving people a desolate and bleak feeling.
Suddenly feeling something behind her, she turned around and saw Leng Ye. She instinctively took a half step back.
Leng Ye paused, holding the fur. His wet hair clung to his face, and water droplets slid down his delicate collarbone.
The fur in his hand was dry.
"It's chilly, put this on."
Seeing Shu Ning's curious expression, he smiled slightly and explained, "This was wrapped in many layers of animal hides. It's dry, so don't worry."
Just then, Shu Ning got goosebumps from the sea breeze. Remembering that she should have a spatial dimension, she refused, saying, "No..."
Before Shu Ning could finish speaking, Leng Ye draped the cloak over her shoulders, saying, "Don't be so polite with me, this was specially prepared for you."
“Oh,” he said, remembering something, “they all have them too, don’t worry.”
Shu Ning looked at Xuan Mo and the others as they were putting on furs, and she thanked them again, "Thank you, and thank you on their behalf too."
Leng Ye gazed at her intently, his eyes seemingly swirling with emotion, yet his expression remained calm.
"No need to thank me, it was just something I did on the spur of the moment," he said in a deep, magnetic voice.
"Ningning, let's go." Mo Li came over and took her hand. "While it's still early, let's speed up and go back. We should be able to get back to the wolf clan before dark."
"Okay." Then Shu Ning climbed onto Mo Li's back.
At this moment, Leng Ye gave a look to the orc next to him. The orc immediately understood his meaning and then led a small group of orcs to hurry up on the road ahead.
A moment later.
"Mo Li, are you tired? Why don't you put me down? I can walk by myself." Shu Ning, who had been wearing a fur coat, felt a chill as she flew through the air.
"Ningning, it's okay, I'm not tired," Mo Li said.
"Mo Li, what happened when you went to the Dragon Vein with Han She last night?"
Shu Ning recalled that when the two of them came in from outside the palace last night, their eyes looked strange. She asked them first before she had a chance to ask them, and then she saw that he was too tired and fell asleep, so she didn't ask him about it.
When Mo Li heard Shu Ning ask this, it reminded him of the conversation between Yan Ling and the spirit beast by the dragon vein last night.
He couldn't confirm whether what the spirit vein beast said was true, but everything matched up.
This gave him a sense of crisis. In this beast world, Shu Ning had gradually shown amazing supernatural talents since he met her.
He was terrified of one thing: that she might be taken in by that so-called other beast world filled with supernatural abilities...
What will he do then...?
"Mo Li?" Seeing that he was flying and didn't answer, Shu Ning asked again, "What exactly happened last night?"
“Last night…” He hesitated whether to tell her.
If what the spirit vein beast said wasn't true, telling Shu Ning would only plunge her into anxiety every day.
"Um...it's nothing," he replied. "Last night I just felt too much power from the dragon veins, and I was a little sleepy."
"Really...?" Shu Ning asked doubtfully.
"Don't worry, Ningning, I'm fine," Mo Li said with a smile, reassuring her.
"Okay, if you're not feeling well, then let me get down," Shu Ning said.
"I slept well last night and have recovered. I don't feel uncomfortable at all," Mo Li said.
"That's good," Shu Ning said, then continued looking ahead.
Sensing that Shu Ning's attention was no longer on him, Mo Li once again fell into the same thoughts he had been having.
If we don't tell her, what if she's suddenly taken away one day? Will she be able to adapt to life there? And without them, who will take care of her...?
Mo Li became increasingly confused as he thought about it, when suddenly, an idea popped into his mind...
"Ningning," he said.
"Hmm? What's wrong, Mo Li?" Shu Ning replied. "Are you tired?"
"No, Ningning, promise me, you won't use your superpowers if you can avoid it in the future," Mo Li said solemnly.
"Why? Mo Li, what happened?" Shu Ning asked, frowning.
