Chapter 256

Chapter 256

The orc sensed someone waking up and quickly hid.

When Mo Li opened her eyes, she saw that it was pitch black outside the cave, and the fire inside the cave had burned out, leaving only a small red ember in the center.

He cautiously surveyed his surroundings; the beastmen near the cave entrance were all still asleep, some even snoring.

Leng Ye, who was sitting opposite the campfire, was still asleep.

Xuanmo and Shu Ning relied on each other.

He looked around but found nothing unusual, so he closed his eyes again.

Sensing everything around him, he suddenly noticed a huge orc outside the cave.

After the orc hiding in the shadows did not hear any sounds from inside the cave, he poked his head out, intending to cautiously approach again.

"Who's there?" Mo Li shouted.

Upon hearing this sound, the group, especially the orc who had been dozing at the cave entrance, suddenly woke up.

At this moment, Shu Ning and Xuan Mo also woke up.

Hearing Mo Li's wary voice, the group quickly looked around cautiously.

Suddenly, they saw a tall male at the entrance of the cave.

The orcs who were about to enter the cave did not expect that someone was awake, and they woke up all the orcs in the cave.

He immediately raised his hands.

"Excuse me," he said in a humble manner, "Could I come in and take shelter from the rain?"

When the other orcs saw the orc who had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, they all drew their bone knives and surrounded him.

Seeing the hostile looks he received from so many orcs, he said, "It's raining too hard outside."

The group remained locked in a tense standoff inside the cave for a moment.

“No,” Xuanmo said.

"Please, let me take shelter from the rain for a bit. I'll leave as soon as it stops," the orc said.

Mo Li looked at the orc in front of her and could not discern any racial characteristics of him.

"Where are you from?" he asked.

“I…” The orc scratched his head, then shook his head. “I don’t know either.”

"I woke up in this area and it happened to be raining. I saw a cave here and ran in."

"How could you not know where you come from?" Leng Ye stood up and asked seriously.

“I really don’t know,” the orc said.

"He didn't lose his memory too, did he?" Shu Ning asked.

"Yes, yes!" Upon hearing Shu Ning's words, the orc nodded hurriedly, "I have indeed lost my memory."

"What a coincidence! I think you're clearly lying!" said a sea monster, brandishing a knife.

“Really, I really don’t remember anything,” the orc nodded.

Hearing this, Leng Ye also began to have doubts about him. He remembered what Yan Ling had told him about the alien beasts.

Orcs with special abilities are demoted here after making mistakes and are subjected to amnesia.

This set off alarm bells in his head, and he asked him, "Do you know what you're good at?"

"I don't know," the orc said, shaking his head.

His stomach started to rumble again. He looked at the leftover bones next to the beastmen in the cave and swallowed hard.

"You can go now, the rain has stopped outside," Mo Li said, noticing this.

"It's so cold outside, let me stay until dawn. I'll leave as soon as it's light." The orc glanced outside and saw that the rain had indeed subsided.

"No, it's not convenient for us here. You should leave," Mo Li said.

Seeing that he still showed no sign of leaving, a sinister glint flashed in Leng Ye's eyes: "If you don't leave, don't blame me for being impolite!"

Seeing the hostility they all displayed towards him, the orc quickly retreated, saying, "I'm leaving, I'm leaving."

Then he slowly walked out of the cave.

"Wait a minute," Shu Ning said.

Upon hearing this, the orc immediately turned around, and suddenly a large chicken leg flew towards him. He quickly caught it.

Upon seeing the chicken leg, his mouth watered, and he couldn't resist wolfing it down.

The others looked at him and realized it seemed he hadn't eaten meat in a long time.

"Finish your meal and leave now!" Xuan Mo said coldly, his eyes fixed on him.

"Hmm..." The orc chewed even the bones to pieces by the end.

He licked his lips, "Mmm, thank you, thank you!" Then he took a step back, glanced at Shu Ning who had given him the chicken leg, and turned to leave.

After watching the orc's departing figure, the tense nerves of the group finally relaxed.

"It's alright now," the orc inside the cave said.

"I don't know how he suddenly appeared; he startled me," said a sea monster.

"Exactly, how come he's all alone in this desolate wilderness?"

"It's not a stray beast, is it?" another beastman said.

"It's similar, but not quite. It feels different from the stray animals we've encountered."

"We don't care if it's a stray beast or not. If it dares to harm us, we'll beat it up anyway!"

"Oh well, never mind, time to sleep."

At this moment, Mo Li and Leng Ye sat back down, their expressions serious.

"What did you see?" Leng Ye asked Mo Li.

Mo Li shook her head, looking at the campfire that was about to go out, and poked at the fire with a stick in her hand.

"Could he be..." He looked up at Leng Ye and said.

“Hmm,” Leng Ye replied, “Very likely.”

"What are you talking about?" Shu Ning asked, looking at the two of them as if they were speaking in encrypted form.

"It's alright." Mo Li patted Shu Ning's head, her eyes filled with tenderness.

"So mysterious." Xuanmo said to the two of them, "They're obviously not good people. If they dare to come again, kick them out."

Leng Ye shook his head, "Don't make a move rashly without knowing his strength."

“Mm,” Mo Li agreed.

"You two are a beastman who has successfully transformed into a dragon, one of you is in charge of the Eastern Sea, how come you've both become so cowardly?" Xuanmo said disdainfully.

"We'll talk about this when we get back," Mo Li said.

Then he covered Shu Ning with a fur blanket, saying, "Go back to sleep for a while."

“Mm,” Shu Ning replied.

The next morning.

Shu Ning got up and saw that the rain had stopped outside. As she stepped out of the cave, she suddenly felt a cool breeze.

"It's so cold," she said, hugging herself.

"Let's go pick some melons," Leng Ye said, holding a leather bag.

"Um."

Then the group set off for the melon patch, only to find that the once pristine land had been ravaged beyond recognition.

Several orcs, seeing this scene, walked incredulously to the melon vines.

He squatted down, picked up the broken melon, and looked at it with a melancholy expression.

“Everything was fine when we came here last time.” One of the orcs glanced at Leng Ye furtively after seeing this.

At this moment, Leng Ye also looked at the scene in front of him with an embarrassed expression.

"This place looks like it's been ransacked," Mo Li said, squatting down and looking at the heavy footprints below.

"I know, it must be the one from last night!" an orc said angrily.

“Yes, it must have been him!” another orc said.

"These melons are so carefully maintained, and they've just been trampled on like this. We really should have dealt with him last night!"

"Alright, what's done is done, there's no point in saying more," Leng Ye said.

"I see there are still a few good ones over there, let's pick those and take them back," Shu Ning said.
