Chapter 261 Where Do You Come From?

Chapter 261 Where Do You Come From?

Deep within the dark cave, the damp walls were covered with glowing moss, and ferocious orcs were imprisoned on both sides, their low growls radiating a suffocating sense of oppression.

Two guards led the way, with Huang Ying and his two companions walking ahead, followed by several lion-clan beastmen.

Some of the orcs began to roar when they heard someone enter, including the orcs who had just been captured.

"ah……"

"Why are you locking me up here?! Let me out!" he shouted as he pounded on the ground.

Upon hearing the roar, Xuan Mo frowned slightly and pulled Shu Ning closer to him.

"Leader, that's him. He keeps calling out." The prison guard said to Huang Ying.

Huang Ying turned to look at the ragged orc in front of him. His clothes were somewhat strange, and no racial characteristics could be seen on his body.

Her smooth face was covered in mud, and her long, half-dry hair was casually draped over her shoulders, looking both smooth and somewhat dirty.

Looking at her eyebrows, which showed signs of grooming, and beneath her long eyelashes were silver-blue eyes that were now glaring fiercely at him.

Huang Ying was not affected by his anger at all, but instead scrutinized his well-fitting clothes and unusual appearance.

"What are you looking at!" the orc shouted when he saw him staring at him. He glared and said, "You're the one in charge here, aren't you? Why are you arresting me!"

He shook the sturdy wooden door and roared at him.

Suddenly, he caught sight of Shu Ning's arrival. A look of surprise flashed in his eyes, and his irritable temper subsided somewhat.

"So you're the one who followed them?" Huang Ying looked at him with disdain and said, covering his nose.

"It's none of your business..."

He paused when he noticed the female beside Huang Ying, changed his tone, and after a moment of silence said, "I only know them..."

Noticing this, Huang Ying's eyes darkened. "You really don't remember anything?"

He arrogantly turned his face away, not answering directly, but just glaring at him fiercely.

"Then why are you following us?" Shu Ning asked when he didn't speak.

"I don't know where I'm going, and I'm scared to be alone." He looked at Shu Ning, his eyes darting away.

At this moment, Xuan Mo scoffed, rolled his eyes, and said, "Lying."

"Do you remember where you used to live?" Shu Ning asked.

"Which tribe? What's it called? Are there any memorable scenes?" she asked.

The orc shook his head. "I don't remember anything. My mind is completely blank right now."

"I opened my eyes and found myself in the place where we first met yesterday. It was raining heavily at the time, which is how I met you."

"I also want to know where I came from?" he asked Shu Ning and Xuan Mo. "Do you know any way to help me regain my memories?"

"I will definitely thank you then!" he said sincerely.

"Never mind," she murmured, her eyes suddenly lowering as she thought of something. "What if I have some past I don't want to remember, and I decided to lose my memory just to forget that memory?"

"Tch!" Huang Ying rolled her eyes. "So much internal monologue."

Shu Ning turned to look at Xuan Mo and Huang Ying, "He doesn't seem to be lying to us."

“Ningning, this orc…” Xuanmo glanced at the orc with icy eyes, “cannot be trusted easily.”

“Mm,” Shu Ning replied.

Xuanmo patted her head. "Let's go back first."

"Okay," Shu Ning replied, turning to look at the orc inside. She took a wet towel and a package from her spatial storage and gave it to him. "Here, take this."

After the orc took it, he looked down at the wet towel and the other items in his hand.

Upon opening it, I found some dried meat and fruit.

When I looked up again, I could already see their backs as they turned and left.

"Thank you," he said gratefully.

"How was it?" Mo Li asked when they came out.

Shu Ning shook her head, "It's still the same, I don't remember anything."

“It’s an act,” Huang Ying said coldly.

“That’s right,” Xuanmo agreed.

"No matter what kind of person he is, as long as he is in my Lion Clan, I will not allow him to run rampant," Huang Ying said with a sharp look in his eyes.

“Yes, we believe in the strength of your Lion Clan.” Mo Li placed her hand on his shoulder and said, “That’s why we came here.”

Upon hearing this, Huang Ying couldn't suppress the corners of his mouth turning up, and his narrow eyebrows arched upwards.

Thinking that they hadn't chosen to go to the Crimson Flame Tiger Clan, he said with a smile, "This is the right place. You must be tired after a long day of travel. Go and rest."

Then he turned to his subordinate and instructed, "Go, take my friends to rest."

"Yes," the lion-like beast beside him replied, "Please follow me, everyone."

"Get some rest," he said, waving.

“Yes, you too,” Mo Li said.

The next morning.

The group was having breakfast.

"What is it that made me run over here overnight?" Yan Ling asked, her steps weak and her whole body trembling.

"It's a big deal," Leng Ye said.

"Isn't he just an amnesiac beastman?" Yan Ling saw them eating and, feeling very hungry, ran over and picked up a piece of beast meat to eat.

"In my short hundred years of life, I've seen..." Yan Ling said while eating, then picked up the water next to Leng Ye and drank it, "...a lot."

"Why do you look like a starving ghost?" Leng Ye rolled his eyes when he heard his words.

"I haven't eaten for days, I'm practically starving," he said as he ate.

"What, you've lost your appetite just because I'm not here?" Leng Ye said.

"No, I've been learning new skills at the Dragon Vein recently, so I haven't had time to eat," Yan Ling said.

"Alright, alright, eat up, then let's go check on that orc."

"Well, let me tell you, the new skill I've learned is..."

"Eat quickly," Leng Ye said impatiently.

"oh……"

A moment later, the group arrived inside the cave prison.

“That’s him,” Huang Ying said casually, pointing at the orc.

Yan Ling paced back and forth, looking at the orc inside with a serious expression.

The orcs inside were also watching him, their gazes following his movements.

"Yes!" Yan Ling affirmed, "It's him!"

He pointed at the orcs inside and suddenly became excited.

“The spirit vein beast also said it came from the beast world, but you can’t see any racial characteristics. And looking at its appearance and attire…” He stroked his chin, “It’s definitely true.”

"Hmm, and then?" Leng Ye asked.

"And then, isn't that a coincidence!" he exclaimed excitedly, looking at them. "My new skill is that even leaving the dragon vein can help him regain his memories!"

"Impressive," Mo Li praised. "If that's the case, we can know everything about that now."

The others also looked at Yan Ling expectantly.

"But... I've only just learned how to use it, and I haven't used it yet, so there might be a few minor mistakes," he said, looking at them apologetically.

“It’s alright,” Xuanmo said. “Just a little bit of recovery will do.”

The fear is that once he fully recovers, he will know too much, which could be detrimental to them.
