Chapter 269 Pranking the Wedding

Chapter 269 Pranking the Wedding

"The Holy Mother enters—"

With a loud shout from the merman, everyone's eyes turned to the palace entrance.

The beautiful mermaids inside the palace danced and came forward to greet them.

"They're here, they're here..."

The merfolk watching from inside and outside the palace peered in excitement.

A female merman dressed in gorgeous blue attire stands beside a handsome male fox with snow-white hair.

The two slowly stepped into the palace, meeting the gazes of numerous merfolk and guests.

"Heh, so he's a fox-clan beast husband after all," Mo Yu said calmly.

"Hmm, it looks like an arranged marriage." Mo Li, who was bowing her head, prepared to get up and greet them.

In the instant he looked up, he suddenly caught sight of the familiar beastman.

The beastman across from him had deep, dark eyes. The moment their eyes met, he smiled faintly.

"Ah...what a coincidence."

Mo Li returned his smile.

"Isn't that the leader of the Viper Tribe? It seems they also like to join in the fun." Mo Yuye said, also noticing Yi Yuan on the other side.

"Chief, the wedding ceremony has already begun. Shouldn't we go over?" the serpent orc reminded him.

"I'm not going."

"I've heard that the Merfolk revere beauty, and their sacred females are exceptionally beautiful. Doesn't the chief really want to go and see them?"

"Yes, Chief."

"It's so noisy! Go if you want to go." Han She said impatiently as she walked towards the side hall.

"Chief, wouldn't this be inappropriate..."

Han She took a deep breath and stopped to explain, "A wedding of the Merfolk takes a whole day and is very complicated. It's still early. We can wait until they're almost finished before we go over."

"I understand, I understand. The leader is very thoughtful."

"Alright, you can go if you want to have fun," Han She said, stopping at the entrance of a side hall where they had been prepared to rest.

"Okay, thank you, leader!" the several snake-like beasts said excitedly.

Seeing his men running back in high spirits, Han She's gaze softened.

With the other orcs gone, it became much quieter.

Just as Han She was about to go inside, she suddenly heard a sobbing sound coming from behind the coral reef not far away.

He frowned slightly, initially not wanting to pay any attention.

But the sound annoyed him.

"The wedding of the sacred female of the Merfolk, yet someone is crying here. How interesting." He sneered.

"Who's crying over there?" he asked coldly, his arms crossed and his upper body leaning against the doorway.

Upon hearing that someone had discovered her, Shu Ning wiped away her tears, lowered her head, and quickly walked away.

The voice sounded familiar, and she wanted to look up, but her eyes and nose were red and she didn't want anyone to see her like that.

I still plan to leave directly.

"Heh..." Han She sneered as he watched the female cover her head with one hand and leave in a panic.

However, that back view seemed somewhat familiar.

He frowned slightly, which reminded him of his female nature.

I wonder how she is doing with the werewolves?

Will I miss him?

It seems he really misses her; even seeing a female reminds him of her.

Seeing that no one was following, Shu Ning stopped, wiped away her tears, took a deep breath, and tried her best to look normal.

She told herself that she couldn't just leave like this; she had to find out what was going on.

Even if he no longer likes her and wants to find another partner, she needs to hear it in person, instead of just going back in a daze.

Inside the palace.

The two walked to the innermost seats and slowly turned around.

As soon as Mo Li sat down, she saw a familiar face.

"Jin Tong?"

Unsure, he rubbed his eyes, and after seeing the person clearly again, his eyes widened.

His face was filled with disbelief.

However, the male in front of him had snow-white hair, which was completely opposite to the image of Jin Tong in his memory.

He didn't remember Jin Tong having any brothers, or perhaps cousins?

And isn't Jin Tong a red fox? How could she grow hair like that?

Looking at Yi Yuan across from him, he was talking to someone else.

"Hey!" he whispered.

Hearing the noise, Yi Yuan frowned slightly and looked in the direction of his gaze.

The two people in the chairs were happily going through their wedding ceremony when they suddenly caught sight of the young man's face, and their pupils dilated in surprise.

"Ember Eye!"

Suddenly, a clear, resonant female voice, tinged with a slight tremor, came from outside the palace.

Upon hearing this, everyone stopped their cheerful conversation and looked outside.

A beautiful woman with silver-gray hair stood alone at the palace gate, her eyes filled with sorrow and anger, her chest heaving with heavy breathing, her fists clenched as she stared at the protagonist on the stage.

"Who is this person?" The merman beside him looked at the newcomer with disdain.

"Are you here to cause trouble?"

Just as the Holy Queen of the Merfolk was happily preparing to take the next step, she suddenly heard this sound that reverberated throughout the entire palace.

His brow furrowed slightly, a flash of anger crossed his eyes, and then he turned to look at the young female at the door.

He raised his hand in a gesture of greeting.

The singing and dancing around them stopped.

Facing the guests below, the woman on the stage maintained the gentle demeanor befitting a saint, her voice steady and calm: "Does anyone here recognize her?"

"Ningning?" Mo Li got up and quickened her pace to go over.

“This is my female, the Holy Mother.” Yi Yuan stood up and replied solemnly.

"Mo Li?" Shu Ning's eyes widened in surprise, her earlier emotions subsiding somewhat.

Seeing the redness in her eyes and her slightly disheveled hair, Mo Li seemed to realize something, her heart suddenly trembled, and she opened her arms and hugged her tightly.

"Your female?" The Holy Mother on the stage breathed a sigh of relief, her expression softening somewhat.

"Since she is the female of the viper leader, please have her take a seat."

The surrounding beastmen began to whisper among themselves.

"Ningning, what brings you here?" Mo Li stood up, placed her hands on Ningning's shoulders, and looked at her pitiful appearance with heartache in her golden eyes.

"Mo Li," Shu Ning released him, "I need to talk to Jin Tong."

"Jin Tong?"

Mo Li's eyes fell on the young, handsome man on the stage, dressed in the attire of the merfolk, his entire body gleaming white.

When I turned around again, Shu Ning had already gone inside.

Yi Yuan, who was approaching, extended his hand to greet her, and said in a deep, mellow voice, "Ning Ning."

But she didn't respond. Instead, she looked at the wedding couple on the stage with anger in her eyes and continued walking inside.

The young male on the stage noticed this and immediately reached out to protect the female next to him behind him.

The young male spoke in a clear voice: "Moon, don't be afraid, I'm here."

The holy female of the merfolk was secretly pleased to see the male protecting him, and she raised her hand to give a signal.

The merfolk guards, secretly watching over the troublemaking female, were keeping a close eye on her.

Upon seeing Jin Tong's action, Shu Ning's heart suddenly ached, and she clenched her fist so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

"Jin Tong, why?" she stopped and questioned, her voice trembling.

Why did you leave me?

A hint of suspicion flashed in the angry eyes of the man on the stage, but he quickly regained his vigilance.

"Who are you? Why are you interrupting our wedding?"
