Chapter 69 The Desolate Swamp
Shu Ning paddled on the river, resting when she got tired, letting the current carry her along. Once she had rested enough, she continued paddling.
When you're hungry, eat some dried meat or dried fruit.
When she lay down to rest, she put her hands behind her head, crossed her legs, wiggled her toes, and looked at the incredibly blue sky, the clusters of white clouds, the lush green trees beside her, and occasionally she would come across a few flowering bushes, their fragrance filling the air.
The birds chirping in the trees on the shore didn't fly away when they saw her; some even followed her for a while, and some even boldly perched on the side of her raft.
Looking at the beautiful scenery, Shu Ning thought that if she didn't have a mission, she would love to spend ten days or half a month having fun with Xiao Chong and the others.
Although the scenery was beautiful, she dared not relax and continued paddling hard after resting.
And so the day came to an end, and soon evening arrived.
Throughout the day, she encountered no danger and saw no wild animals. Thinking that she would remain safe and sound, she was so tired from the day's work that she fell asleep immediately.
To her surprise, although there were no wild animals threatening her life, the very reason a river is a river is because the terrain is sloping.
At some point in the night, she and her little raft encountered a waterfall. She was fast asleep and did not wake up. As she fell from above, she hit her head.
He passed out and continued to float on the water, carried by the current.
After a day of drifting...
They got stuck after entering a deep pool at the bottom of a valley.
The water here looks like it's been splashed with ink, so green it's almost black, and light is swallowed up as soon as it touches the bottom.
White mist rose from the water's surface, obscuring the distant darkness. Occasionally, two luminous, golden, round objects would flash briefly.
The surrounding area is filled with strangely shaped, porous, dark brown stalagmites that rise from the water's surface, some of which have merged with the stalactites above to form stone pillars.
The surroundings were eerily quiet, with only the occasional fluttering of a few bats.
Shu Ning's pale face contrasted sharply with the dark surroundings, and her body was as light as a fallen angel floating on the water.
A small water snake had just approached her, but upon hearing the sound, it immediately darted away.
"Look, there's an orc!" a sharp-eyed male orc shouted from the shore as he spotted Shu Ning floating on the water.
“Let’s go take a look,” said the other male orc.
After the two men pulled her out of the water, they discovered that she was an extremely beautiful female. The eyes of the males nearby lit up instantly, and they were stunned.
Although her hair was dirty and messy, her lips were pale and purple, her eyes were closed, and her clothes were tattered, it still couldn't hide her broken yet stunning beauty.
“The chief will definitely like this!” one of the orcs said after confirming that she was still breathing.
“How many is this since the leader returned?” another orc said, frowning.
"The sixth one."
"Do any of those leaders want it?"
"No."
"But this is so beautiful, the chief might like it!"
"Yes, very likely," he nodded.
Then, Shu Ning was carried back by one of the orcs.
The orc holding her blushed as he looked at the female in his arms.
——
"Chief, another delicate female has been discovered outside!"
"Didn't I say not to..."
"Chief, that female is prettier than the previous ones!" The orc quickly interjected, afraid that his chief would disagree, but then he lowered his head, not daring to look at him.
"I don't want that either."
"Chief, are you really not going to? Don't you plan to see her before making a decision?"
“No—no!” he emphasized.
“Yes…” The orc turned away dejectedly.
"etc."
Upon hearing this, the orc's facial features instantly regained their excitement, and he looked at their leader expectantly.
How good-looking is it?
"She's the most beautiful female I've ever seen!" he exclaimed without reservation.
"Yes, send it to the enemy camp later."
"...Huh?" The orcs who heard this looked at their leader with their jaws dropping in astonishment.
"What...do you have a problem with that?"
"No...no, Chief," the orc stammered, feeling only pity for her.
"Pass down the order: attack the enemy tonight."
"yes!"
Although the orcs were unwilling to send such a high-quality female to the enemy camp, they dared not disobey their leader's orders.
Since their leader returned, their rivals have been sending females to approach their territory every now and then, pretending to be injured.
It wasn't because they particularly liked their leader, but because in the Youhuangze area, there were many orcs of all sizes who banded together in groups. They didn't distinguish between races; they could form groups as long as they felt it was appropriate. The largest of these groups consisted of them and another tribe called the Serpent Tribe.
During the year their leader went missing, their tribe was nearly overwhelmed by their oppression, but thankfully their leader has recently returned.
After their leader returned, they launched a fierce counterattack, severely damaging the Serpent Tribe in just a few days.
The Serpent Tribe, unwilling to accept defeat for the time being, began to employ various strategies, among which sending beautiful women to seduce them was the most common.
They either fake an injury or use a real injury to lure them into a chance encounter.
Fortunately, their leader was intelligent and immediately saw through their wicked tricks.
At first, I tried to scare them, but I didn't expect them to be so easily frightened; they confessed right away.
Later, when more injured females were found on their patrol route, their leader sent them all back.
It's a real shame to send the female back like this.
Their leader doesn't even have a female yet...
Why……
Snake Tribe —
"Hiss~"
When Shu Ning woke up again, she found herself in a dark cave cage, with no orcs guarding her.
At that moment, she had a splitting headache, multiple abrasions all over her body, a very dry throat, and was disheveled and dirty.
She first took some water from her spatial storage and then ate some herbs to treat the pain.
Clean and bandage your wounds again, and finally get some dried meat to replenish your energy.
She didn't know what was going on, but looking at the surrounding environment, she guessed that they had arrived at the Desolate Swamp.
Now that we've arrived, Yi Yuan should be nearby as well.
Finding him is really not easy!
She couldn't help but sigh.
She was in pain all over her body and was not fit to move, so she planned to rest for a while and see how things went.
"007, am I in the Desolate Wasteland now?" she asked in her mind.
"Yes."
"Where am I exactly right now, and what's the situation?"
"You are now in the Serpent Tribe, which is hostile to the Viper Tribe where Yi Yuan is located." 007 then disappeared.
Upon hearing this news, Shu Ning felt a headache coming on; how did she end up here?
Never mind, I'll run away once she recovers.
She was currently in pain and swelling all over her body, with bruises and abrasions all over her body. Since she didn't know what the outside world was like, she figured it was better to stay in this cave for now, at least it would be a place to stay.
