Chapter 190 The Fox Clan Chief's Visit
"Tch, that's for sure!" Jin Tong said proudly. After Shu Ning finished drinking, Jin Tong took the bowl and said happily, "I'll get you another bowl!"
"Mmm." Shu Ning pursed her lips and replied, noticing Xuan Lin walking over out of the corner of her eye.
“Xuan Lin!” she called out.
Seeing that she seemed more energetic, Xuan Lin's eyes flickered slightly, and he said to them:
"Ningning, Xuanmo, Hanshe, Yiyuan, and Jintong, you can go back and rest later. We're having a celebration banquet tonight, so everyone remember to come."
“Okay,” Shu Ning replied.
Hearing their voices, he said, "No rush, let's eat first before we go."
"Mmm." Shu Ning took the fish soup that Jin Tong handed her again. "Thank you!"
"Drink as much as you want, and I'll cook more if you're not full," Jin Tong said tenderly, patting her head.
"Xuan Lin, are you done yet? Hurry up and try the fish soup that Jin Tong made, it's delicious."
"Mmm." Xuan Lin said. He had smelled the aroma before he even arrived and was already hungry. He then went to get some soup for himself.
Looking at the beastmen before her, Shu Ning suddenly felt worried, thinking of the Black Bear Clan's attack last night.
"007, what if someone dies during the mission?"
“Don’t worry, host, I’ll find you a replacement,” 007 said. “However, the current beastmen won’t do; we’ll have to choose again. Who do you want to replace?”
Upon hearing 007's words, Shu Ning was startled and thought to herself, "No, I won't trade anyone."
"It's just curiosity, don't take it too seriously," she added.
"Okay." 007 said and then disappeared.
"Are you full?" Yi Yuan asked when he saw her lost in thought.
“Mm,” Shu Ning replied.
Then he took her bowl and washed it by the river.
A moment later, the group began packing their things, while Shu Ning simply put them away.
Shu Ning, who was just about to go back with Han She, was suddenly picked up by Xuan Mo.
"Xuanmo?" Shu Ning asked, puzzled.
“I heard…” he looked down at her, “that someone has nowhere to sleep?” He then glanced at Han She.
Shu Ning glanced at Han She, then looked back at Xuan Mo, "Actually, it's fine if he sleeps at my place..."
As soon as Shu Ning finished speaking, the others had different feelings; some were jealous of Han She, while others envied him.
“If you don’t have anywhere to sleep, you can come to my place,” Yi Yuan said.
“You can also come to my place,” Jin Tong added immediately.
“No need, his cave has already been prepared,” Xuan Lin said. “You can move in tonight, and the blankets have been made up for you.”
"Oh? Is that so?" Han She asked in surprise. He said to Xuan Lin, "Thank you very much, but... I want to spend more time with my Ningning."
Upon hearing Han She's words, Xuan Mo immediately carried Shu Ning away, not giving them a chance to compete with him.
"Xuanmo, so where are we going now?" She was about to reach the fork in the road at the entrance of the two caves.
“Come to my place,” Xuanmo said simply and directly.
"What, do you want to be with him more?" He tightened his grip on her.
"I'm fine with anything," Shu Ning said.
“Then come to my place!” Xuanmo said.
Shu Ning looked at Xuan Mo in surprise; he gave her a completely different feeling than before.
Xuanmo, who used to be unassuming and never competed for anything, is now fighting with other beastmen for her.
"Okay," she replied. "By the way, Xuanmo, how are your parents?"
“They are fine, don’t worry.” Xuanmo frowned slightly when she mentioned his parents.
"So, in the Black Serpent Clan, is there anyone who bullies you?"
Upon hearing this, Xuanmo's eyes flashed with surprise. "I am the leader of the Black Serpent Clan. Who dares to bully me?"
"Hmm? You don't trust your beast husband's strength at all?" Xuan Mo suddenly stopped after reaching the cave entrance.
A subtle hint of amusement flashed in his deep, captivating eyes.
"Of course not, I definitely believe in your abilities," Shu Ning explained.
"So you're worried about me?" Xuan Mo asked with a slight smile, his dark eyes fixed on her, his Adam's apple bobbing as he awaited her answer.
"Mmm..." Shu Ning responded, and the next second Xuan Mo leaned down and kissed her.
After a moment, he released her and entered the cave...
"Ning..." He kissed her again, whispering in her ear.
A moment later, he turned over and lay down, saying, "I'll take a nap first, and continue tonight."
Shu Ning was taken aback; Xuan Mo's self-control was stronger than anyone else's.
"Friendly reminder: Xuanmo's favorability has increased by 1 point, and his current total favorability is 98."
After falling asleep, Shu Ning woke up and saw Jin Tong's fiery red eyes. She didn't know how much time had passed.
He was admiring something, his eyes filled with shimmering light.
"Jin Tong?" she asked in confusion, turning to look at Xuan Mo, who was lying beside her with his eyes closed. He opened his eyes after hearing her voice.
"You're awake?" Jin Tong said.
"Hmm," Shu Ning replied. "Why are you here? Has the banquet started?" She looked at the sunset outside and asked.
“No, but it will be soon,” Jin Tong said. “There’s an orc who wants to see you; he’s outside.”
"Who?" Shu Ning asked, puzzled.
“Chi Yan is right outside. I originally wanted to send him away, but he stubbornly refused to leave and insisted on seeing you.”
"Why did he suddenly come?" Shu Ning asked, sitting up in confusion.
"After hearing that the wolf clan had been attacked, he brought some food and supplies with him."
"Oh... the news spread so fast!?" Shu Ning exclaimed in surprise.
“Yeah, I don’t know how he found out so quickly,” Jin Tong said, equally puzzled.
Xuanmo listened to their conversation and roughly guessed why.
“This Chi Yan… he must have sent people to monitor the wolf clan,” Jin Tong said.
Thinking back to when he brought Shu Ning back to the fox clan, he was so persistent in pursuing her, even threatening to have his brother send him over. At the time, he just thought it was a joke.
Unexpectedly, now that he's become the clan chief, he has to come personally to deliver even small gifts.
"Anyway, since we're here..." Shu Ning said, getting dressed and getting out of bed.
Jin Tong followed her, took her hand, and declared his ownership to someone.
Seeing Shu Ning emerge from the cave, Chi Yan, who was standing with his hands behind his back, exclaimed in surprise, "Ning Ning, you're awake? Did Jin Tong wake you up?"
As he spoke, he glanced at Jin Tong and scolded, "Jin Tong, didn't I tell you not to wake her up?"
"No way, how could I possibly wake Ningning up? It must be your presence that made her unable to sleep peacefully," Jin Tong said disdainfully.
“Now that you’ve seen the person, it’s time for you to go back.” Jin Tong put her hand on his arm and pushed him away.
"Hey, no manners at all, how could you treat your uncle like this?" Chi Yan did not leave as soon as he saw Shu Ning, as he had hoped.
"Didn't you say you left as soon as you saw them?" Jin Tong said, a bad feeling creeping into her heart.
“Jin Tong, Chi Yan came all the way from the Fox Clan, bringing so much stuff. Why are you thinking of driving him away?” Shu Ning said.
"Our Ningning is so sensible!" Chi Yan exclaimed.
