Chapter 1: What a Big Black Panther

Meng Yuqing was devastated when she woke up. Anyone who was walking on the street and suddenly hit on the head by a flying brick would be furious.

Not to mention that when I woke up, what I saw was not the ceiling of the hospital, but I was lying on a branch as thick as a bucket, more than 20 meters above the ground. The leaves above my head were so dense that I couldn't see the sky.

The surrounding area is covered with lush trees. Compared with this, the primeval forests I had seen on TV before looked like a small forest.

He clung to the branch tightly, not daring to move, and was shaking with nervousness. It was more than 20 meters high, and if he fell down accidentally, he would be crippled if not dead.

"Is anyone there? Is anyone here?————"

“Puff, shua, shua—puff, shua, shua”

Hearing the noise, Meng Yuqing immediately turned his head and saw many birds startled by his voice, but... no one responded...

He watched the birds flying overhead, his eyes widening slightly.

Is this a bird? It's too big, and in his memory, there's no bird that matches the creature flying before him.

And each of them was much larger than any raptor he had ever seen before, and looked like they could even lift him up with ease.

With their sharp claws and scimitar-like beaks, there was no doubt that if these birds attacked him, he would be doomed.

Thinking of this, he shrank towards the tree trunk, letting the leaves and branches shield him more tightly.

I didn't know what to do for a moment, and he definitely didn't dare to continue calling for help.

Many of the bird-like creatures startled by this sound looked like they could easily take care of themselves.

What if I shout a few more times and fail to scare away the other beasts, but instead attract some more powerful creatures to come and have a buffet? I would be so sad that I would have no place to cry.

Meng Yuqing pursed her lips, propped herself up, leaned against the tree trunk, sat on a branch, forced herself to calm down, and thought carefully about what was happening.

I was knocked unconscious by a brick, but when I woke up, I was not lying in the hospital or in my own bed, but hanging on a tree.

What the hell is going on? This can't be a prank, right? This isn't funny!

Meng Yuqing frowned, a trace of struggle flashed across his face as he looked at the unusually tall trees around him and the birds he had never seen before that looked nothing like creatures from Earth.

After all, he is a young man who often surfs the Internet and has read quite a few time-travel novels.

This... I'm afraid I've traveled through time.

Meng Yuqing thought to himself while trying to find joy in the midst of suffering.

But there's no point in thinking so much. I can't stay in the tree forever. I have to find a way to get down from the tree first.

He rubbed his face and forced himself to cheer up. Suddenly, as if he remembered something, he touched his forehead directly.

There is no wound, not even a trace of discomfort. This is not normal. I was clearly hit on the forehead by a brick, it is impossible that there is no trace at all now.

He closed his eyes and smiled bitterly. This must really be a time travel...

If that's the case, Meng Yuqing glanced down. It's a tree that's over 20 meters high. He really can only rely on himself.

Holding the branches tightly with both hands, Meng Yuqing moved his legs carefully and turned himself around to face the tree trunk.

The trunk is very thick, with an uneven surface, and many vines as thick as wrists hanging down.

Looking up, I saw that the tree was unexpectedly tall, with leaves and branches stacked up layer upon layer. I couldn't see the top of the tree, but I could vaguely tell that I was on a lower branch of the tree.

He reached out and grabbed a vine, then rubbed it hard against the sharp protrusion on the tree trunk. It was unexpectedly tough, with only shallow scratches on the vine and no obvious cuts.

He swallowed and carefully selected a vine that looked the thickest and strongest.

After confirming the length of the vine and making sure it could be hung down to a height where he could land safely after being tied into a knot around the branch, he carefully wrapped one hand around the vine and slowly began to move away from the branch and downwards.

Before I moved down far, the leaves beneath me suddenly began to rustle.

What the hell!?

Meng Yuqing's body tensed up instantly, and he looked down nervously. The leaves were so dense that he could only vaguely see through the gaps a black object moving rapidly upwards towards him.

What is it? He stared down intently.

Soon, the thing below moved to a very close position, the leaves beneath were pushed aside, and a huge black beast head appeared in sight.

“Ahhhhhhhhh!!!”

Meng Yuqing's pupils suddenly dilated.

He exerted force on the vines and subconsciously climbed up to create distance between himself and the beast, completely forgetting that he was on a tree dozens of meters high.

His body was covered by a shadow, and the beast's huge claws dug into the tree trunks on both sides of his body. The hot air he exhaled brushed against the hair on the back of his head and slid into his collar. He could not escape!

His hair stood on end. Was he going to die just after crossing over? He turned his head sharply and looked at the beast behind him. What on earth was that?

A black panther! Meng Yuqing opened his eyes wide and stared at the black panther.

The huge beast's head was still getting closer to him, and the hot air it exhaled sprayed on his face. He could even feel the beast's beard pricking his face!

Every pore in his body was screaming danger, run! But there was nowhere to escape.

Meng Yuqing closed his eyes resignedly, waiting for death to come.

The imagined severe pain of his body being torn apart did not come, but the beast did not leave. Instead, it sniffed near his neck, and then he felt the back of his collar being pulled.
