After everything was arranged, everyone surrounded Meng Yuqing's tent in the middle, closed their eyes and prepared to rest.
Yang and Xuan were responsible for keeping watch. After the two flying orcs ate half of a small wild beast, they carried some supplies and rushed back to the tribe overnight.
Meng Yuqing slept soundly that night. Although she was not as warm as when she was leaning against Xuan, she did not feel cold either.
Meng Yuqing opened the tent and walked out tentatively. The snow was still above his ankles, and he felt that he was still slowly sinking.
He quickly sat down on the snow and crawled back to the tent, looking extremely embarrassed.
Xuan saw his little action, changed into human form and followed into the tent. He smiled at Meng Yuqing who was patting the snow off his body, walked over, hugged Meng Yuqing, pecked him lightly and said.
"Don't come out yet. I'll pick you up after I'm done packing."
"Okay." After shaking off the snow on his body, Meng Yuqing sat in the tent, boiled some hot water to wash up and stopped thinking about running around.
I originally thought that after the system upgrade gave him air waves, he would be able to travel freely, but it turned out that he couldn't even go out the door without orcs to clear the snow in winter.
On the other side, the two flying orcs who were sent back to the tribe were also flying non-stop, rushing back to the tribe with some prey as quickly as possible to convey the news of the harvest to Xia.
After seeing that the two of them brought back a lot of food and understanding their actual hunting situation, Xia didn't say anything more and directly sent another thirty orcs out to continue transporting food back.
The two flying orcs rested for a day and then took thirty of their tribesmen to the river.
On the river, Yang, Xuan and the others were no longer in the same place. On the second day, the original fifteen holes were still able to catch a lot of wild animals. On the morning of the third day, it was found that the number of wild animals had obviously decreased.
The river is so big that it is unlikely that all the wild animals have been caught. It is only possible that the wild animals nearby have noticed something unusual, become alert, and are unwilling to come over.
After figuring this out, Xuan and Yang discussed it and left arrow marks on a nearby tree trunk before taking their people to another place. They also decided not to come to this place to catch wild animals for at least two years.
Lian took ten flying orcs and took part of the prey to fly directly along the river, digging holes in suitable places in advance, while the others walked slowly over with the remaining prey.
There were too many preys, and Xuan was carrying a lot of them on his back. Meng Yuqing didn't want to sit among the corpses of the beasts, so in the end he could only lie on Xuan's neck. Fortunately, Xuan had enough heat and covered himself with several layers of animal skins, so he was warm all over.
When they caught up with them with their prey, they had already dug out ten ice holes. Three people were left on the shore to guard the prey, and the others were skillfully divided into teams, with two people in each ice hole.
Just when they were about to change location for the second time, two flying orcs returning to the tribe found them with a transport team.
Seeing the prey piled up on the shore, the tribesmen who came later excitedly circled the prey several times, and many people walked onto the ice to watch how they caught the beasts.
"With so many, I definitely can't carry them all on my back. I can only tie them up with ropes and drag them back." Li squatted beside the prey, feeling a little worried.
I originally thought that by sending out thirty orcs, we should be able to bring back all the prey, but now it seems that there are not enough people.
Meng Yuqing patted Xuan and motioned him to go to Li's side, "I'll think of a way."
Seeing Xuan and Meng Yuqing coming over, Li's eyes lit up, "You came just in time. I was just wondering how to take all these guys back."
"Try making a cart?" Meng Yuqing asked Xuan to put him down and cover him with animal skin. He lay directly on the animal skin to prevent himself from sinking into the snow, and then took a branch and drew on the snow.
"Chop the trees into the shape of boards and put them together. Put a few pieces of wood in the middle as beams, and then tie them up with vines. Pile the beasts on the side with the beams and secure them with vines. Put the flat side underneath and let it slide on the snow. It should be easier to drag it this way." Meng Yuqing did not prepare to make wheels. The snow was too thick and the force-bearing area was small, so it was easy to sink into the snow.
He said the thing he drew was a flatbed truck, but it actually looked more like a giant snowboard made of pieces of snow.
"But this can only be dragged on relatively flat ground. You still need to carry it yourself up and down steep slopes, or one person can push and the other pull. The vines also need to be tied more to prevent them from breaking." He added the pros and cons of this tool.
After Li and the other bear beastman figured out what Meng Yuqing was talking about, they said directly, "Let's make one and try it out first. It's just chopping wood anyway, so it's not difficult for us. If this method works, we don't mind the time."
Li acted immediately and called together the tribesmen he brought with him to start cutting down trees and making means of transportation.
Xuan did not take Meng Yuqing back to the ice, but kept following Li and the others, so that Meng Yuqing could give them technical guidance.
It took them no more than an hour to complete the work. Because they needed to carry heavier prey, the wooden boards had to be cut very thick. Fortunately, the trees in this world were very sturdy, which saved them a lot of trouble.
Li transformed into a beast and lay on the wooden board, signaling another bear beastman to try to pull him up. Following Li's instructions, the other tribesmen put vines on the bear beastman.
"Hey! It's moving! He really pulled me to move." Li said in surprise on the wooden board.
"How do you feel? Is it hard?" Meng Yuqing turned to look at the bear beastman pulling the cart.
"It's okay. It's easier than carrying a large beast directly. With this thing, I can carry more prey than before." The bear orc recalled the feeling just now and replied.
