Xuan was running at a very fast speed, and Meng Yuqing was bouncing up and down with his running movements. His chest and abdomen were bearing the force of his body falling, and he felt very uncomfortable.
His stomach churned and he covered his mouth tightly with both hands, afraid that he would vomit without paying attention.
Fortunately, Xuan was very fast and arrived at the destination after running for ten minutes. Xuan put Meng Yuqing on the ground.
"vomit----"
As soon as he landed, he couldn't bear it any longer, bent over and began to retch.
"Are you okay?"
His reaction scared Xuan. Xuan was a little panicked and circled around him anxiously, raising and lowering his huge claws.
Meng Yuqing bent over and closed his eyes, adjusting his condition while waving at the anxious giant beast.
"It's okay, just take it easy," he paused and continued.
"I'm just staying here, right?"
In front of him was a cave entrance, about three meters high. The surrounding vegetation was extremely lush, and there were many vines hanging above, blocking the cave entrance tightly.
If Xuan hadn't placed him directly at the entrance of the cave, he wouldn't have been able to find it.
"Yes, this is it. This is the cave where the orcs from our tribe stop when they go out hunting. There's a lot of orcish smell, and there are no dangerous beasts around. Stay inside, don't make any noise, and don't come out. Get some rest. I'll be back soon."
As he spoke, Xuan raised his paw and gently pushed Meng Yuqing, signaling him to hurry in. He had to quickly find suitable prey and come back. This sub-beast looked too weak. No sub-beast in the tribe would vomit like this after being carried in its mouth and running, not even the little cub would.
Following the force of Xuan's touch, Meng Yuqing walked into the cave. The cave was relatively dark, with sporadic light shining into the cave through the grass and trees.
With this little light, he could see the whole cave. The interior was much larger than he had imagined, about five meters high, seven or eight meters wide, and more than twenty meters deep. The innermost part was no longer visible.
Touching the mountain wall, Meng Yuqing continued to walk inside. The cave was very clean and there was no strange smell. Xuan was still squatting at the entrance of the cave, looking down at him.
"I understand. I will stay here and won't run around." Meng Yuqing waved to him and sat down while touching the stone.
The cave entrance was small compared to Xuan's size, so Meng Yuqing couldn't see Xuan's entire body from inside the cave. She could only see him lowering his head and sticking it into the cave, nodding at Meng Yuqing.
"I'll be back as soon as possible." Xuan said as he walked out of the cave, circled around the entrance twice, leaving behind his own scent.
The orcs of the tribe would stop here when they came out to hunt, but it had been several days since they last came here, so it would be safer to leave some new scent.
Hearing the sound of Xuan leaving, Meng Yuqing groped his way back inside, hiding himself deeper.
"Beep—A qualified creature has been detected nearby. Entering the binding process. Are you willing to bind with the system?"
A cold, mechanical voice suddenly came from my mind.
What? Meng Yuqing shook his head, thinking he was hallucinating.
"Meng Yuqing, are you willing to bind to the tribe upgrade system?"
"What is that?" The voice sounded again, and this time he was sure that it was not an illusion.
Binding system? Meng Yuqing was slightly stunned. Could it be what he thought, a belated golden finger?
But why did you choose to travel through time? I was very satisfied with my original life!
"Why me?"
He asked back in a state of frustration. He had traveled through time inexplicably, and now there was another strange system. He subconsciously became alert.
I have to ask clearly, maybe it was this system that caused me to travel through time.
The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed, so he said coldly.
"Who the hell are you? My coming to this world has anything to do with you."
"You are the most qualified candidate for binding in this world. Your coming to this world is indeed related to this system, but your death in your original world has nothing to do with this system."
"Impossible! How could I possibly die? I'm healthy. I was just hit once. There's no way I could have been killed by it!"
When Meng Yuqing heard the system's news of his death, he immediately refuted the system and clenched his fists tightly.
If the system had a physical body, Meng Yuqing would probably grab the system's collar and start questioning it.
"After you were knocked unconscious on the ground, before you could be moved away, a car on the road lost control due to drunk driving and crashed into the sidewalk." The system's voice was emotionless.
After hearing the system's explanation, Meng Yuqing's first reaction was disbelief. He lowered his head and trembled all over, unable to find the words to refute.
"Meng Yuqing, are you willing to bind to this system?"
Seeing that he didn't speak, the system continued to repeat the previous question.
Meng Yuqing was still digesting the news of his own death. When he heard the system's urging, he turned his head away and refused to communicate.
I am the only son in the family and they have always loved me. If I die, my parents will be so sad when they find out.
Thinking of this, I reached out and covered my eyes. Will I never see them again?
Looking at the dark cave in front of him, the system in his mind kept asking him whether to bind.
That's right! The system! The system said he was dead, and it was he who brought him here.
Meng Yuqing touched his now intact body. If the system could bring him here, it must be able to bring him back!
"You can bring me back, right? I'm not interested in time travel, hegemony, or being the protagonist. If you bring me back, you can find a more suitable host!"
The more Meng Yuqing spoke, the more excited he became. The more he spoke, the more he felt that this idea was very feasible, as if returning home was just around the corner, and all he needed was the system's nod.
