Of course, he didn't want to go in. He picked some of the most delicious plants and berries he had eaten recently and placed them respectfully on a stone table. He stared at the stone table in a daze.
He made this stone table after he came here, but in his memory, the tables in his tribe were not like this. How could he make a table like this?
The doubts did not linger in his mind for too long. He came to say goodbye to that unspeakable existence and thank Him for saving his life and protecting him.
"When I came here, I had nothing with me, and I had nothing to give you in return. These are the ones I picked out that I think are the most delicious..." The orc said with a hint of embarrassment on his face, "When I go out and find something good, I'll bring it back for you."
After saying this, he bowed towards the cave entrance, and then he felt the joy coming from that unspeakable existence, as innocent as a newborn baby.
The orc chuckled softly, then turned and left. He raised his hand and waved towards the cave entrance, saying, "I'll come visit you later."
The air wall at the entrance of the cave suddenly fluctuated like water waves for a while, but the orcs who had already walked far away did not notice it.
When he reached the water's edge, the orc clumsily changed into beast form and slowly climbed into the water, then swam out using his eight unfamiliar limbs.
Then, he found that he was blocked by the air wall again and he couldn't get out...
Surfaced, he scratched his bald head with a tentacle in confusion, "He won't let me leave? Although it's safe and the environment is good here, I'm an orc. I can only eat plants here. I'll get weaker and weaker."
As he spoke, he groped along the wall of air, trying to find an exit to get out.
It was dark, and he had been groping for a long time but couldn't find a way to leave. He swam back to the island and the cave entrance in frustration.
The edible plants and berries he had placed on the table were gone. He knew that some unspeakable being had accepted the food he had sent, even though it had originally belonged to him.
He sat at the entrance of the cave, looking at the pitch-black cave, and couldn't help asking, "Don't you want me to leave? Of course, you saved my life. If you want me to stay with you, I will definitely stay."
He paused, then continued, "But there's no food suitable for orcs on this island. If I can't go out hunting for wild animals, I'll become weaker and weaker. Besides, the weather is getting colder and it's going to snow soon. By then, there won't even be any plants to eat. I can't starve for a whole winter."
No one knew which words touched the heart of that unspeakable existence. A gust of wind blew by, bringing a bone-chilling coldness. But miraculously, he felt as if... he was full, the kind of feeling that comes from eating too much meat.
Realizing this, the orc shrugged his shoulders, looked at the already dark night, and walked back to the hut he had built to rest.
Lying on the wooden bed, he closed his eyes, but his mind kept thinking. In fact, everything here was good. If possible, he hoped to find his people and bring them all here to live.
There are no wild animals on the island, and there are plenty of edible plants. If that unspeakable existence is willing to let them go out to the sea to hunt, then this would be an excellent place to live for any tribe.
But there was always a faint anxiety in his heart. He had to leave here. Someone was waiting for him, many people were waiting for him.
Opening his eyes, he stared at his hand in a daze, and then it transformed into a pitch-black octopus tentacle.
The word "black" was very familiar to him. He always felt that someone often used this word to describe his beast form, although after saying it, that person would add, "It's very beautiful, very elegant, I like it very much."
Then that person would throw himself on his beast-shaped belly and roll around.
But is my animal form really suitable for such behavior?
The orcs always thought that their beast form was the best looking, but he didn't feel that way every time he saw his beast form.
He turned over and subconsciously reached out to the side, but it was empty...it shouldn't be empty.
He lowered his eyes and thought.
The next day, the temperature suddenly became extremely low. The orc opened the door of the wooden house and looked at the scenery outside. He was afraid that it would snow in the next two days.
He had previously stored some edible plants, but it was obviously not enough for him to survive the entire winter. He had to find a way to persuade Him to let him go, or at least let Him let in some wild animals so that he could hunt.
Although He could have directly relieved his hunger, was it really necessary to get something for nothing? Wasn't it true that one should be rewarded for the work he put in?
Until now, he still couldn't figure out what He needed him to do.
Arriving at the cave entrance again, the orc looked at it and said, "Thank you for your gift, but I still need to work to get enough food. If you're worried about my safety because it's going to snow soon and won't let me leave, then it would be too much for me to eat and drink for free here. If possible, could you let the wild animals in? I want to hunt for food myself."
After saying this, the orc lowered his head. As far as he could remember, no one had ever taught him the word "pressing for an inch", but he knew what it meant and could use it skillfully.
A gust of wind blew by, and the orc concealed the emotions in his eyes and felt it carefully.
He agreed and allowed the beasts outside to come in, but he still could not get out.
…
The orc had a headache. Could it be that this unspeakable existence was a person who had been lonely for too long and wanted to find someone to accompany him?
But how long can an ordinary orc like me stay with him?
Now I am eighteen years old, and I can accompany Him for at most one hundred and thirty years.
Thinking of this, he was stunned again. Is he really eighteen years old now? He always felt that he was more than eighteen years old.
After a few days of uneventful life, snow began to fall. It was unexpectedly cold, and even though he transformed into an animal and hid in the house, he was still shivering with cold.
And most importantly, there are no other caves on the island except the one he cannot enter.
This meant that he couldn't even find a cave to live in.
And this is not normal, the beast form should not be so afraid of the cold.
He picked up firewood and piled stones to build a stone stove next to it, and then he felt unwell again.
The animal shape he discovered did not like being so close to the fire, so he tried to build a bed out of stones that would generate heat.
He felt that there should be such a thing, but the fact was that he couldn't build it.
