Chapter 26: Building a Greenhouse

Chapter 26: Building a Greenhouse

Building a greenhouse requires consideration of windbreaks and drainage, and most people can't do it well. At least, Xu Xinxin can't do it.

"Sure, I happen to have time today."

Uncle Qian didn't waste any time. He counted the materials and started moving them onto his pickup truck. As he was moving, he said to Sun Kunpeng, "Don't just stand there. You brought these people here, so come and help."

"That's a must," Sun Kunpeng immediately followed.

In fact, he didn't know how to build a greenhouse, but Xu Xinxin was just a little girl. Although Uncle Qian was an old acquaintance of his and a trustworthy person, he couldn't let the little girl stay alone with an adult man.

This is not appropriate.

Xu Xinxin hasn’t thought so much about it now. She just wants to build the greenhouse as soon as possible so that she will have something to do on rainy days.

The two men ran back and forth several times, moving the long bamboo logs onto the truck outside.

Xu Xinxin looked at the almost new truck parked on the side of the road and exclaimed, "Uncle Qian, I didn't expect you to be so rich to have such a nice car."

"No, no, these were all bought in the past. If you ask me to buy them now, I still can't buy them." Uncle Qian said.

That's true.

After the disaster, many cities were destroyed by mutant creatures, and there were only a few good cars left. Many were confiscated by the state using points, leaving even fewer civilian cars.

This is a small truck. The cargo box does not have a carport. Bamboo and wood are tied inside, leaving some space.

Xu Xinxin and Sun Kunpeng each brought a small stool and squatted here.

"Girl, where is your land?"

Uncle Qian was sitting in the driver's seat when he realized he didn't know his destination.

Xu Xinxin squatted in the back and shouted, "Lot 333, near the river. Just follow this road and you will arrive."

"Okay~"

After the things were loaded and everyone was seated securely, the van wobbled away.

Xu Xinxin held the fence of the cargo box next to her with her hand while chatting with Sun Kunpeng.

"Brother Sun, you help me build the shed today, what about your store?"

"It's okay. My grandma will help me watch it. When your greenhouse is ready, we will go home early to steam crabs for dinner."

"So you bought the crabs to eat them yourself."

Xu Xinxin thought he was selling it.

Unexpectedly, Sun Kunpeng is from a wealthy family and can spend thousands of points on a meal. It really is true that one cannot judge a person by his appearance.

The two chatted casually along the way. When the truck was about to reach the river, Sun Kunpeng realized something was wrong: "Where did you say your land was?"

"It's site 333, near the river." Xu Xinxin said.

Sun Kunpeng stood up and glanced at Yu Shan, then asked uncertainly, "Don't tell me your land is in Yu Shan's area?"

This is no longer just close to the river, it is directly next to the river.

I didn't expect that she, a little girl who looked so delicate and fragile, was so brave.

Xu Xinxin smiled at him and said, "This piece of land is big, and you can grow a lot of things on it. I will give priority to selling it to you, Brother Sun."

That's not the point.

Sun Kunpeng looked at Xu Xinxin's innocent smile and felt a little bit like having a heart attack. He said, "It's very dangerous here."

"It's okay," Xu Xinxin lied, "My mother and my brothers and sisters all have special abilities. Although they are usually very busy and go out early and come back late, they will leave one person to accompany me every day."

Does the whole family have superpowers?

Sun Kunpeng didn't quite believe what he heard, but when he saw Xu Xinxin's serious expression, he couldn't help but doubt it.

Okay, as long as my family is with me, otherwise I would feel uneasy.

The pickup truck went around Yushan and stopped on the stone road next to Xu Xinxin's house. They soon found the location of the vegetable field.

Sun Kunpeng looked at the desolate wasteland nearby, then at the unevenly cultivated vegetable field in front of him, and couldn't help but look at Xu Xinxin with suspicion.

Even Uncle Qian next to him couldn't help but ask, "Girl, where are your family members? They're not here?"

Xu Xinxin smiled at them, but she was conflicted inside.

She lied before because she was afraid that others would know that she lived here alone and would be targeted and put in danger in the future.

But Sun Kunpeng and Uncle Qian seemed to be good people, and they had seen their homes. If they lied now, they would not be able to hide it at all...

Forget it, whether they believe it or not, she can't think of a better way.

At the garrison base, when Liu Wanqing rushed to the riverside, the group of mischievous monkeys were gone.

She walked around and found nothing unusual, so she returned to the base to check the surveillance and discovered that Xu Xinxin had been there before.

After seeing the surveillance video, Liu Wanqing immediately rushed over again on the evolved parrot, and happened to meet Xu Xinxin returning home.

"Chiu~"

Just when Sun Kunpeng and Uncle Qian were wondering whether Xu Xinxin really had a family, the evolved parrot called out from high in the sky and slowly descended.

"Chirp~"

Seeing Xu Xinxin, the evolved parrot felt inexplicably happy. It immediately came over and rubbed her arm with its head.

Unexpectedly, the parrot still remembered her.

Xu Xinxin immediately touched its head with her hand, and then said to Liu Wanqing: "Sister Wanqing, why did you come here at this time?"

Liu Wanqing did not reply immediately. She first glanced at the two strange men behind her, then at the materials used to build the greenhouse, and then said, "I just came to see if you were in any danger."

There was a sense of oppression from Liu Wanqing, and even if she didn't mean it, Sun Kunpeng and Uncle Qian who were standing behind Xu Xinxin also felt the pressure.

Unexpectedly, what this girl said was true.

She really had a sister who was in the garrison and she visited her from time to time.

Look, that flying parrot and that garrison uniform are the best proof.

"You sisters have something to say, so we won't disturb you."

Sun Kunpeng immediately took Uncle Qian and ran over to build the greenhouse.

After the two of them left, Liu Wanqing pulled Xu Xinxin aside and whispered, "I just saw you go across the river through the surveillance camera. What's going on?"

So that’s why.

There is nothing to hide about this, and Xu Xinxin can't hide it either.

She immediately told the story of what she had done on the other side of the river, but she omitted the existence of the evolved wild vegetables, the mother cat, and Xiaojiu.

There are indeed surveillance cameras near the river, but the surveillance is limited and not every corner can be seen, so Liu Wanqing does not know Xu Xinxin's specific whereabouts.

After listening to Xu Xinxin's explanation, Liu Wanqing understood what was going on, and at the same time warned: "That group of evolved monkeys will beat people. If ordinary people encounter them, they will either be chased and beaten or have a layer of skin on their heads broken.

You were lucky this time, probably because you were far away from them, otherwise you would not be able to escape at all."
