Chapter 241 Adding Flowers to Brocade

Old Sun led Xie Yuyao and Zhao Honghui a short distance before stopping in front of a red brick and tile villa.

A middle-aged man came up and greeted Mr. Sun warmly: "Mr. Sun, you've arrived."

He glanced at Zhao Honghui and Xie Yuyao, his expression one of amazement. “You two must be a couple. You two are a match made in heaven.”

These words put Zhao Honghui in a great mood, and he began to exchange pleasantries with him.

This man, surnamed Zhao, was a middleman. Behind him, an elderly man with white temples and a hunched back emerged from the villa entrance. His surname was Jiang, and he was the owner of the house.

Upon learning that Mr. Sun had brought them to see the house, Mr. Jiang warmly welcomed them inside for a tour.

After passing through the rusty iron gate, a large cluster of blooming roses came into view. Xie Yuyao recalled the rose petals from her wedding night, and her mood improved considerably.

Zhao Honghui whispered something in her ear, which made her squeal and pinch his waist.

The two of them joked around like that for a while, oblivious to everyone else, before continuing their tour.

This little villa blends Chinese and Western styles, exuding charm. In one corner of the courtyard, there is a violet-lined walkway, as well as a small fountain and an angel statue.

Because it has been neglected for years, the area is overgrown with weeds, and the original flower plants are growing alone in the grass.

Upon opening the villa's door, a smell of dust wafted out.

Xie Yuyao choked and sneezed repeatedly. Zhao Honghui quickly stepped aside to shield her from the smoke and dust, and took out a handkerchief to cover her nose.

Old Zhao quickly explained, "This house hasn't been lived in for too long, just opening the windows to let it air out will do. Old Jiang, go and open the windows quickly."

Old Jiang hurriedly pulled open the thick curtains, and sunlight streamed in, instantly brightening the room.

The first floor of the villa has a large living room of over 100 square meters, decorated in a classic European style, furnished with a full set of sofa furniture, and a grand piano placed in one corner.

Xie Yuyao lifted the white cloth covering the piano and casually played a few notes, from which a series of beautiful notes flowed.

Xie Yuyao, who knew her stuff, immediately realized that this piano alone was quite expensive.

The group then went up to the second floor for a look around. The master bedroom was very large, furnished with an exquisite dressing table, a classic bed, and Western-style tables and chairs.

In addition to the master bedroom, there are two secondary bedrooms, all decorated in the same style.

After viewing the house, the group arrived at the lobby on the first floor.

"Mr. Jiang, will your descendants know that you're selling this house?" Zhao Honghui asked.

"Everyone's gone now. I'm just an old man living alone. I plan to sell this house and go south to find a place where it's spring all year round to live out the rest of my days," Mr. Jiang sighed.

Mu Wanning felt pity, but also knew that everyone has their own fate. "Do you want to take these things in the house with you?"

"I sold it along with the house for a total of 15,000 yuan," Mr. Jiang said hesitantly. He had spent a lot of money building the house and even had it designed by a foreigner, but it was confiscated after only a few years. Now he was in such a sorry state.

He gazed at the details inside the house with a weary look in his eyes. The former prosperity seemed like a dream, a dream that had vanished without a trace.

Xie Yuyao and Zhao Honghui exchanged a glance and nodded secretly.

Zhao Honghui then said, "Then we'll go back and get the money. We'll be back in about an hour, and we'll get the paperwork done today."

Mr. Jiang and Mr. Zhao were overjoyed. The house had been on the market for a long time but no one had shown interest. They never expected the buyer to be so decisive and not even try to negotiate the price.

At this moment, Old Sun spoke up: "Everyone, please come to my house and wait."

Soon after, Mr. Jiang and Mr. Zhao arrived at Mr. Sun's house. While drinking tea and chatting, they learned about the connection between Mr. Sun and the young couple.

Mr. Jiang remarked with emotion, "No wonder they didn't haggle over the price at all."

"Don't think you've offered too little and then try to raise the price on the spot. They're not fools; this house is just a nice bonus for them, not a necessity," Old Sun warned with a smile.

“Of course, I’m already very satisfied with this price. I wouldn’t do such a thing anyway,” Mr. Jiang said hurriedly.

The quick-witted Old Zhao caught on to the second half of Old Sun's sentence and couldn't help but ask, "Do those two comrades still want to buy villas? I have several other houses that the owners have entrusted to sell."

Old Sun chuckled and said, "You can talk to them in detail after this transaction is completed."

Xie Yuyao never expected that a financial crisis was about to befall her.
