The oncoming military jeep braked suddenly and came to a stop, and a tall, muscular man in black jumped out of the vehicle.
Zhao Honghui glanced at Xiang Wenshan, then shifted his gaze to Xie Yuyao in the crowd.
"Who are you!" Director Bai's face was displeased.
Zhao Honghui withdrew his gaze and said politely, "Director Bai, Director Yang, hello! I am Zhao Honghui, a resident of Qingshantun."
"You must be Zhao Honghui?" Director Bai paused, then extended his right hand to him. "Nice to meet you!"
Each of them knows exactly where and who needs to be watched.
Although he was respectfully addressed as Director Bai by outsiders, he was just someone who handled matters.
Now that Zhao Honghui has appeared, things are getting complicated.
Zhao Honghui shook hands with each of them, saying, "It's so late, and you two directors have gone to all this trouble."
"Hey! We only came here because we received a tip-off," Director Yang said with a smile. He knew this kind of person too.
"I wonder what you're reporting?"
Director Yang said, "The letter said..."
He briefly recounted what had happened.
After listening, Zhao Honghui looked at Director Bai and asked, "Director Bai, may I borrow the paper to take a look?"
Director Bai naturally wouldn't make things difficult for him in this matter, nor was he afraid that he would destroy the evidence, so he handed it to him directly.
"Isn't this a report on self-criticism?" Zhao Honghui asked after glancing at it.
Then, Xie Yuyao saw him whisper something in Director Ye's ear.
After a few words, Zhao Honghui stepped back, and Director Ye's expression softened considerably.
“You people always have to cause trouble, even if there’s nothing wrong with you. You must undergo proper reform.”
Secretary Liu realized what was happening and quickly said, "Tell them to carry manure tomorrow!"
Whether it's true or not, Director Ye nodded in satisfaction; that's exactly the attitude he wanted.
Zhao Honghui then said, "Since you two have come from afar, please do me the honor of coming to my home for a cup of tea."
Director Ye and Director Yang exchanged a glance and exchanged a few perfunctory words.
Seeing Zhao Honghui's sincerity, he agreed.
After the two directors got into the car that had arrived, Zhao Honghui opened the back door of the jeep and invited the brigade leader and Party Secretary Liu to get in.
After the two got into the car, he walked around the car, opened the driver's side door, took a deep look at Xie Yuyao, and then crouched down and climbed into the car.
With the sound of engines, the two vehicles drove away from the educated youth compound, one after the other.
*
Seeing the car drive away, Xie Yuyao rushed to Jiang Yan, grabbed her arm and used an over-the-shoulder throw to slam her heavily to the ground.
"Ah!" A scream rang out.
Looking down at the woman lying on the ground, unable to move in pain, Xie Yuyao said hatefully, "You did it!"
"No! It wasn't me! What proof do you have?"
Jiang Yan wouldn't be foolish enough to admit that the matter had spiraled out of control and almost implicated the entire educated youth team; she dared not provoke public anger.
"Evidence? Why don't I file a police report now? There will definitely be your fingerprints on the papers!"
As she spoke, she turned around.
Jiang Yan grabbed her arm, "Don't report it! Things have calmed down. What if you stir up trouble again and implicate everyone?"
"Stop using the educated youth team as an excuse. If you're not guilty, let go and let her report it to the police. That will clear your name." Li Weidong saw Jiang Yan's expression and realized that she was the one behind it all.
Although he had suspected it, he still found it hard to believe when the truth was revealed: how could a young girl be so vicious?
If Xie Yuyao is really arrested, her life will be ruined!
Everyone looked at Jiang Yan, who was still clinging tightly to Xie Yuyao's arm, and even the most oblivious person understood.
"You bitch! How dare you drag me into this! I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget!"
Bei Xiao pushed Jiang Yan down, straddled her, and began hitting and cursing her with both hands.
"What does this have to do with me! I didn't write it, blame Xiang Wenshan!"
Jiang Yan struggled to dodge, then fought back, and the two began to wrestle.
Ren Fei and Yang Shumei, who were standing nearby, stepped forward to take sides, causing Jiang Yan to suffer a lot.
They knew very well that if this was classified as copying banned books, they would be finished!
Wu Lihong, who was almost dragged into the mess, broke down. She pointed at Jiang Yan and cursed, "Jiang Yan! You clearly promised me that you would no longer make things difficult for Yu Yao, so why did you go back on your word? Since you can't keep your promise, don't blame me."
"No! I was wrong! Sister Lihong, I really know I was wrong!" Jiang Yan, who had been silent, pleaded repeatedly.
Wu Lihong screamed in anguish, "You said the same thing last time, but look what you've done! You're trying to drag our entire educated youth team down with you!"
"Listen up, everyone! Jiang Yan can swim! Those two dives last time were not dangerous at all; she was just acting!"
"No! I didn't!" Jiang Yan vehemently denied.
The second time she attempted suicide, she swam to the deeper water and even got leg cramps from the cold. She truly risked her life; she really experienced a brush with death!
It is precisely because she risked her life that she hates Xie Yuyao so much!
"Who told me that she was a great swimmer and could dive to the bottom of the river to collect clams? I regret not exposing you sooner, I really regret it!"
As she spoke, Wu Lihong began to beat her chest and stamp her feet in frustration. Li Weidong and Yang Shumei sighed and tried to comfort her.
Xie Yuyao's gaze swept over the angry Bei Xiao, the desperate Jiang Yan, and the remorseful Wu Lihong, and she suddenly felt that it was all so absurd.
These events, one by one, truly reflect the myriad aspects of human life and the impermanence of all things.

Meanwhile, as soon as Zhao Honghui got into the car, the captain said thankfully, "Honghui, it's a good thing you got back in time. If Director Ye had taken him away, it would have been a huge problem!"
