Chapter 86 When has she ever been afraid?

In the main room, Yang Chunhua, who was in the middle of the conversation, was also discussing the two of them with Zhao Laoda.

Yang Chunhua was crocheting, knitting a small sweater for the baby in her third brother's wife's arms. "Dad, I saw Honghui bring home a big sack. I wonder what they bought this time."

"Who cares what he buys? He's over twenty years old, he'll know how to make a good deal." Old Zhao helped to untangle the yarn into a ball, and glanced at his wife when he heard this. She just loves to worry about things unnecessarily.

Children and grandchildren have their own blessings, but mothers, who have poured the most love into their children since they were young, also find it hardest to let go.

"You can't say that. They're only looking for momentary pleasure. What will they do when they need the money later?"

Yang Chunhua had her reasons. She put down her needlework and stood up. "No! I have to talk to Honghui again."

"What are you talking about? What's there to say?" Boss Zhao pulled her back to her chair with a strong tug. "Honghui gives you half of his salary every month. Just keep it safe for him. He can spend the rest however he wants. Don't worry about it."

Yang Chunhua was furious: "But they're not living a proper life!"

“Everyone lives differently. Haven’t you heard the rumors that Xie Zhiqing is rich?” Old Zhao had also heard the rumors and was teased by his old friends: his eldest son had waited so many years and finally met a rich and beautiful woman.

“But with our eldest son’s income, it’s hard to support her! What if she becomes a gigolo and people look down on her?” Yang Chunhua thought of something even more serious. “What if his future in-laws look down on Honghui’s family because of their meager financial situation and want him to be a live-in son-in-law? What will Honghui do then?”

Zhao Laoda was startled by these words. "This...this is baseless. Don't talk nonsense."

"I'll go ask Yao Yao about her family situation tomorrow morning, and whether she has any brothers."

Knock knock knock!

A knock on the door, and as if on cue, he appears.

Zhao Honghui: "Mom, are you asleep?"

"without!"

Footsteps came from inside the house, and soon the door opened. "Honghui, you've come at the right time. Come in and talk."

Zhao Honghui went inside, and Yang Chunhua closed the door tightly. She turned around and asked, "What's that big sack you're carrying?"

"That's exactly why I'm here. Yao Yao bought some defective items from the department store in the county town and asked if you wanted them." Seeing his mother's demeanor, Zhao Honghui knew he was about to be lectured again, so he immediately explained his purpose.

To his surprise, Yang Chunhua instinctively accused him: "We have everything we need, why would she waste money buying defective products? Don't tell me she wants them for herself!"

"..." Yao Yao definitely doesn't need those.

To avoid any misunderstanding, Zhao Honghui briefly explained the origins and details of the goods to his parents.

After listening, Yang Chunhua exclaimed, "My goodness, she's so amazing!"

Old Zhao, however, already knew that Xie Zhiqing had a plan. "Don't forget how she silenced the onlookers after that drowning incident."

Zhao Honghui was annoyed. "Dad, Mom, you can't slander Yao Yao. She's right in every way."

"I know, your mom isn't an unreasonable person." Yang Chunhua rolled her eyes at him, put down her needlework, and said, "Come on, Mom will go with you to take a look."

Soon, Xie Yuyao heard Yang Chunhua's voice.

"Yaoyao, so many things! You brought them all back from the county town. You must have had a long journey." Regardless of what Yang Chunhua was thinking, she still smiled at Xie Yuyao.

Xie Yuyao smiled and said, "Aunt Yang, I didn't do much. The male educated youth who accompanied me and Honghui took care of everything. Please see if there's anything you can use. If not, that's okay too. Don't force yourself."

“How could I not like them? These things require tickets to buy, and tickets are hard to come by for us country folk. They’re so rare.” Just as Zhao Honghui had thought, Yang Chunhua didn’t look down on the defective products.

She glanced around and her eyes lit up when she saw the yarn. She picked up the bag and rummaged through it, exclaiming with delight, "Yaoyao, so much yarn! Enough to knit several sweaters! Look at the quality, it's top-notch!"

Xie Yuyao smiled and said, "It's just that the color is a bit uneven, but we'll make do with it."

"It's nothing, as long as it keeps you warm!" Yang Chunhua said with a smile. "Yaoyao, if you don't mind, I'll knit you a sweater in red, and this black one..."

Yang Chunhua looked at Zhao Honghui, her thoughts obvious: You knit one for Honghui.

Xie Yuyao didn't want to knit by candlelight; it was too bad for her eyes. She was unpredictable during the day and didn't want to bother.

"Thank you, Aunt Yang, but no need. I have plenty of winter clothes, I can't wear them all." Xie Yuyao declined. As for Zhao Honghui, "I saw a men's cashmere sweater I liked at the department store. We can go buy it together when Honghui has time."

"This... Yao Yao, are you an only child?" Yang Chunhua asked now, something she had planned to ask tomorrow.

Xie Yuyao: "No, there are four siblings in my family, two older brothers and one younger sister."

Since the topic had come up, Xie Yuyao gave a brief account of the original owner's family situation.

Yang Chunhua sighed inwardly. Apart from her younger sister who was in school and Yao Yao who was sent to the countryside, everyone else in the family were formal factory workers. No wonder she had so much pocket money.

More importantly, she has two older brothers, so her parents won't have any ideas about her marrying into the family.

Reassured, Yang Chunhua looked at the other items. Although she was tempted, she felt embarrassed to ask for more since she had already taken so much yarn.

Seeing this, Xie Yuyao immediately told Zhao Honghui to put everything into the sack, saying, "Aunt Yang, keep these; you should be able to use them."

"This...this is too much trouble," Yang Chunhua said, both happy and embarrassed.
