Chapter 26 He Has Endured His Limit

Seeing that they still had a long time to talk, Chi Yin simply took the two children to take a look at the pond.

The pond at Old Li's house was as big as a playground. Aunt Li stood by the pond, holding a basin of fish feed in her hand and scattering handfuls of fish feed onto the water. The feed fell into the water, attracting fish to swim over in droves, jostling each other for the feed.

The two children were attracted by the scene, and they surrounded Aunt Li and chattered with gleam in their eyes.

"I want one too!"

"Let me feed the little fishes, let me feed the little fishes!"

Aunt Li was squeezed so hard that she could hardly stand.

Chi Yin was afraid that the child would accidentally squeeze the fish food out of Aunt Li's hand, so she picked up the net bag and handed it over, "Look, what's in mom's hand? Let's go catch some fish, okay?"

Xixi clapped her hands and said, "Okay, fish, fish!"

Aunt Li said, "If you catch any small fish, you can take them home to raise."

Wanwan's big eyes sparkled with pleading, "We have no money, and my mother has no money either, can you give it to us if you can get it?"

...

...

Mrs. Li smiled and said, "It's free. We won't charge you for small fish, but we will charge you for big fish."

Wanwan's eyes sparkled and she nodded vigorously, "Then we'll just catch the small fish."

The two children excitedly ran away with the net bag.

Chi Yin was afraid that the two children would lose their balance and fall into the pond, so she hurried to catch up with them.

Wanwan paddled the net bag in the water, and when she lifted it up, she actually caught a small fish. She shouted excitedly, "Wow! There really is a small fish! I caught it!"

Xixi pouted her little mouth high and paddled back and forth in the water, not wanting to be outdone. She pulled up the net bag several times. Although she didn't catch any fish, there were a few small shrimps in the net bag.

Aunt Li brought a plastic bag and handed it to Chi Yin. Chi Yin put the small fish and shrimps she had caught into the plastic bag and added some water from the fish pond.

The mother and her two daughters said goodbye to Aunt Li and returned to Old Li's house happily.

As it was getting dark, Zhao Jianguo and Wu Ren had also gone back.

Wei Cheng'an was lying on the table. Xixi and Wanwan ran to Wei Cheng'an to show off the small fish and shrimps they had caught. Wei Cheng'an raised his head, took a quick look, and then lay down again and fell into a deep sleep.

Su Zhou stood up, walked over to Wei Cheng'an and shook his shoulder, "Captain Wei? Wake up, let's go!"

Wei Cheng'an didn't react. Su Zhou handed the leather jacket to Chi Yin, half-knelt down to help Wei Cheng'an up, and his eyes fell on his neck covered with red dots. "Wait! What is this?"

Old Li's eyes fell on Wei Cheng'an's neck, and he lifted up Wei Cheng'an's shirt. "Is it prickly heat?"

Chi Yin was looking for a rope to tie up the plastic bag containing the fish. When she heard Asen's words, she and Aunt Li were startled and hurried over to check Wei Chengan's skin.

The exposed skin was just slightly red, but the area covered by clothes was covered with dense red rashes.

Aunt Li was shocked. "This is not prickly heat, it's an alcohol allergy! Are you kidding me? You can't drink it, but you're trying it on your own body! Alcohol allergy can kill people!"

Chi Yin's heart skipped a beat, and she said worriedly, "I heard that alcohol allergy is related to one's physical constitution. It cannot be metabolized on its own. You have to go to the hospital for injections and infusions, otherwise it will affect your internal organs."

Su Zhou's eyes widened. "What are you waiting for? Let's go to the hospital quickly."

Wei Cheng'an had fallen into a coma and could not walk. Su Zhou first squatted down and tried to carry him on his back, but he could not straighten his back no matter how hard he tried.

Old Li hurried to the backyard and pushed an ox cart over. Three men struggled to lift Wei Cheng'an up.

Xixi and Wanwan were frightened and hid in Chi Yin's arms, their little bodies trembling.

Chi Yin felt that the children were very scared, so she squatted down and patted their backs gently. Xixi asked tearfully, "Mom, will uncle die?"

Chi Yin shook her head, "No, uncle is just allergic, the doctor will give him an injection and he will be fine."

Xixi wiped her tears and said, "Mom, I want to go take care of uncle. Uncle is so nice to me and buys me candy every day."

Wanwan said, "Mom, I'll go too."

Old Li and his friends hurriedly pushed the ox cart away. Chi Yin felt as if something heavy was pressing down on her heart and was very uneasy, so she simply followed them, holding her children's hands.

The two children walked slowly and in small steps. When the mother and her two daughters arrived at the emergency room of the health center, the nurse had already given Wei Cheng'an an IV drip on his wrist.

The nurse adjusted the drip rate and saw that the person walking into the ward was a young woman with two crying children. She thought it was her daughter-in-law and her child.

He stuffed the medicine into Chi Yin's hand and said, "This is calamine lotion. Shake it evenly and apply it to the patient's rash."

Chi Yin accepted it and asked anxiously, "Hello, nurse, is his condition serious?"

The nurse looked down at the medical records in her hand and said, "Heart rate is 140. The drip is for anti-allergic drugs. You will be almost fine after vomiting a few times."

Wei Cheng'an was still in a coma. Everyone sat on the stools nearby and looked at him intently.

Xixi and Wanwan's emotions gradually calmed down, and they put the small fish and shrimps they caught in the basin and started playing with them.

At eight o'clock in the evening, Xixi and Wanwan couldn't stand the sleepiness anymore, so they climbed onto the empty bed next to them and fell asleep.

Wei Cheng'an was almost done with the acupuncture. Old Li stood up and said to Chi Yin a little embarrassedly, "You guys watch here first. I'll go home and tell my wife to come back later so that she won't worry."

Chi Yin advised, "Uncle Li, don't come here when you go back. Su Zhou and I will be able to watch over it here."

Su Zhou was drunk at this time. His head drooped and he mumbled incoherently, "Uncle Li, go back and have a good rest. Alcohol allergy is not a big problem."

Old Li said apologetically, "That's fine. My wife and I will come to see Captain Wei tomorrow."

Chi Yin sent Lao Li out of the clinic, and when she came back she saw Su Zhou lying on a chair with his legs spread out, snoring loudly.

The light in the ward was soft. Chi Yin tiptoed to Xixi and Wanwan, picked up the corner of the quilt and pulled it up, then tucked in the edge of the quilt.

"Hmm..." Wei Chengan, who was lying on the bed, frowned and let out a muffled groan from his throat.

Chi Yin reacted quickly and picked up the trash can at the foot of the bed and held it to Wei Cheng'an's mouth. Almost at the same time, Wei Cheng turned his head and vomited uncontrollably.

Seeing a layer of cold sweat on his forehead, Chi Yin quickly used her hands to smooth his back and comforted him, "It's okay, it's okay. The nurse said that you will be fine after vomiting a few times."

Wei Chengan closed his eyes tightly, and it was unclear whether he heard it or not.

Chi Yin took the filth out and dumped it, went to the bathroom to clean the trash can, and when she returned, she found that Wei Chengan was not right again.

He gripped the edge of the bed with both hands, clenched his teeth, and his brows were full of hidden pain.

Chi Yin panicked, but quickly realized that it was the itchiness caused by Min that was tormenting Wei Chengan.

She hurried to get the calamine lotion on the table, but couldn't find the cotton swab even after searching the drawer. At ten o'clock in the evening, the corridor of the clinic was empty. The nurses were off work or resting.

Chi Yin searched twice but couldn't find the nurses' rest station, so she had no choice but to return empty-handed.

Wei Cheng'an couldn't help but gasp heavily from his nose. Chi Yin knew that he had reached his limit, so she gritted her teeth and poured the calamine lotion into her palm.

The moment Chi Yin lifted Wei Chengan's clothes, she hesitated for a moment. He was her uncle, the younger brother of her child's biological father. Wasn't it inappropriate for her to apply the medicine like this?

But Wei Cheng'an was gritting his teeth and gasping for breath. He couldn't just stand by and watch him die, right?

Besides, he helped her so much.

Chi Yin made up her mind and lifted up Wei Cheng'an's clothes without hesitation. She put her fair hands on his shoulders and began to apply the cream carefully.

Seeing that Wei Cheng'an's throat was covered with red pimples, Chi Yin poured the medicine into her palm, opened his collar wide, and slid her fingers gently and softly, applying the medicine carefully.

After applying the lotion on his chest, Chi Yin turned Wei Chengan over and applied it on his back. Most of the bottle of calamine lotion was used up, and Wei Chengan's condition improved visibly.

After tossing and turning for most of the night, Chi Yin was tired and sleepy. She washed her hands, asked the head nurse to put a stool next to the bed where Xixi and Wanwan were sleeping, and fell into a deep sleep.
