"Grandpa promised Shi Ran that he could make a wish. I don't want anything. I just want you to help me, his friend. He really loves me. Grandpa, can you help Shi Ran?"
The granddaughter's earnest advice was indeed effective, and the grandfather's cold expression was shaken.
Looking at Shi Ran's complicated face, grandpa asked in a low voice.
"What's your friend's name?"
It seems like reassurance is needed.
Shi Ran answered clearly.
"Song Sichen, my friend's name is Song Sichen."
"Grandpa knows."
Grandpa just said this and did not give a clear answer as to whether Shi Ran would help Song Sichen.
It's late at night.
Grandpa poured a glass of wine and looked out the window.
It has been some time since his granddaughter Tokiran returned to her room, but his troubles are not over yet.
Knowing where Song Sichen was, another idea came to mind.
There's a lot to consider.
Intertwined with the information the woman had brought today, it was dizzying.
We sat there for a long time, until the early morning, when the sun slowly began to peek out.
"Shi Ran...Shi Ran..."
Shi Ran sat up while rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"dad?"
In the dim room, the first person I saw was my father.
Father woke Shi Ran up in his pajamas with a look of panic on his face.
"Are you very sleepy?"
"It's okay." Shi Ran rubbed his eyes, yawned, and said, "Dad, what's wrong?"
"Shi Ran has to get up early today."
"Um."
Shi Ran knew that her father would never wake her up for such a small matter.
When his father glanced behind the half-closed door, he woke up as if he had jumped into ice water.
Shi Ran quickly got out of bed and opened the door barefoot.
An old man was sitting on the sofa in the dim living room.
"Oh, are you up yet?"
Grandpa's voice was as energetic as if he had slept for a whole day, and he seemed to be prepared from head to toe.
In fact, he didn't sleep all night.
After making the decision, I couldn't wait to get ready and wait here.
Grandpa said with a smile when he saw Shi Ran holding the door handle.
"Do you want to go to the Song family with grandpa?"
No further explanation is needed.
Shi Ran stretched out his hands to his grandfather and shouted, "Okay! Grandpa! Wait a moment, it will be fine in a moment."
"Um?"
With his back turned and his head tilted, Shi Ran quickly ran back to his room.
Shi Ran didn't say anything, but started picking up the bag on the ground, putting it on the bed, and then putting things into it.
The father who was standing there blankly also started to get busy because of Shi Ran.
Then Shi Ran threw into the bag the things he thought Song Sichen needed and the things he thought would be helpful to him.
"This book... ah, that one too! And cookies, candy, and these..."
She ran around the room and every corner of the house, packing up her things carefully.
She was busy, as if she was going to put everything in the room into her bag and take it away.
It seemed like I didn't pack many items, but the bag quickly filled up.
"What are you doing, Shi Ran?"
Grandpa, who was waiting in the living room, finally walked into Shi Ran's room and asked.
"Shi Ran is preparing some necessary things! It won't take long, please wait, Grandpa!"
Before I knew it, there was a small mountain of food on the bed and the bag was stuffed full.
“Do you need to prepare so much?”
Grandpa tilted his head as if he couldn't understand at all.
Shi Ran looked back at his grandfather and agreed readily.
"Shi Ran is going to bring it to Song Sichen!"
“…For that guy?”
For some reason, Grandpa's eyes were moving.
"There are so many things to give, it can't fit in all the boxes, but what should I do if I want to give them all to him?"
Shi Ran said this in distress and looked at his grandfather.
Grandpa frowned tightly, seeming dissatisfied.
"Grandpa will understand if I meet Song Sichen."
When you see a skinny child, you want to feed him and take care of him. This is human nature.
Shi Ran asserted this.
"That's all, no more."
When Dad saw that Grandpa looked unhappy, he quickly came out to smooth things over.
"OK."
Shi Ran smiled and put on his schoolbag.
"oops!"
Because the schoolbag was too heavy, her small body was crushed by the schoolbag and she sat down on the ground, which made her father and grandfather laugh.
"Dad, Grandpa, you're making fun of me."
"That's because our Shiran is so cute."
Grandpa smiled and picked up the schoolbag.
"Grandpa will help you get it."
"Thank you, Grandpa. Let's go see Song Sichen."
Shi Ran held his grandfather's hand and was happier than anyone else.
In the car, Shi Ran lay on her grandfather's body, seemingly catching up on sleep, but in fact, she was thinking about why her grandfather changed his mind.
When talking about Song Sichen last night, he didn't seem to intend to save him. When Shi Ran mentioned his birthday wish, he didn't answer immediately.
We came together to go to the Song family before the sun came out in the morning. Why did you change your mind?
Although Shi Ran didn't have the heart to ask his grandfather directly, he could sense from his deep wrinkles that the reason wasn't that good.
Because they couldn't enter the Song family directly. If they explained their purpose directly, Mrs. Song might not let them in.
"Grandpa, this is it. I met Song Sichen here."
So I planned to meet Song Sichen from other places.
"Song Sichen couldn't have come out of the Song family's main gate. There must be other ways to enter. We can find him by following the path."
