The Shi family welcomed a guest, Lin Yufei.
He was a little exhausted after getting off the car, but he was still anxious to see Shi Ran first.
"Long time no see, Miss Lin Yufei."
Shi Ran tried to speak in a relaxed tone so that he wouldn't seem so anxious.
"Long time no see, Miss Shirane."
Lin Yufei greeted politely.
"I didn't make it clear on the phone. Is everything okay at the academy?"
"I've asked the professor for leave. It's no problem for me to stay away from school for half a month." Lin Yufei took a stack of papers from her bag and placed them on the table. "These are all documents."
"So…how's the research going?"
We did talk on the phone, but what we said wasn't very clear.
"Dr. Zhao has been practicing heart surgery whenever he has time for the past three years. He's really interested in it and has always wanted to become an expert, but he's never performed this type of surgery on a patient." Lin Yufei pulled a medicine bottle from her bag. "This is a drug we're researching in our lab. It might be useful, but..."
"What's wrong?"
"It hasn't reached the production stage yet, so there's no guarantee. If you take this drug, there might be side effects, and it hasn't been used on patients."
Shi Ran's body froze and her face froze.
"You mean to make my dad the guinea pig in your laboratory?"
It seemed that what he said hit the mark. Lin Yufei bit her lip and couldn't utter a word.
Shi Ran knew that the operation Dr. Zhao needed to perform was not as simple as a heart transplant, otherwise, her father would not have died on the operating table in his previous life.
"Come with me."
Shi Ran took Lin Yufei's hand and walked out of the room.
