Chapter 6: Tragic! Confronted with the Man in Black
Chapter 6
The transcript after the deduction was completed, just as Kurokawa Kaoru had said, took about two minutes to complete. It was the first time he had been so close to the police, and it was because of something like this. Gong You's back was tense, and he didn't feel relieved until he got out of the police car.
"That guy named Kudo Shinichi should be a high school student like us, right?"
Seeing the other person nod, Gong You sighed with emotion, lowered his head and whispered to the other person, "Detectives are really different from ordinary people like us. Every time I hear him speak, I feel a sense of awe."
"is that so?"
Kurokawa Kaoru blinked: "Why don't I have this feeling?"
Gong You: ...
I forgot that this guy is not an ordinary person.
After what happened, Gong You no longer cared about whether Kurokawa Kaoru was a member of the mafia. After trying to calm himself down, Gong You sighed and was about to speak when he looked up and saw the man in black he had seen at the crime scene before.
The man's hat was pulled down low. Given the circumstances of a murder, anyone would have wanted to leave Dorobigaar Park quickly, not to mention that closing time was approaching. However, he walked towards the park, his shadow swallowed by the darkness, eventually merging into the park.
I always feel...something is suspicious.
Knowing that curiosity kills the cat, Gong You let out a long sigh and subconsciously touched his chest when he saw the man gradually disappear from his sight.
"Don't worry, he's not going to kill anyone."
"...Is it really okay to say something like that so casually?"
The sudden sound beside his ears startled Gong You. When he realized what he had heard, Gong You's expression was helpless. He turned to look at Kurokawa Kaoru and said, "Then again, what does it mean? Please don't scare me by saying such terrible things."
"I didn't scare you."
Kurokawa Kaoru's eyebrows raised.
Just looking at the aura of the two mysterious men in black, it was obvious that they had killed many people, especially the man with long hair, who seemed even more dangerous to him.
But what did any of this have to do with him? He had already vowed never to get involved in anything related to the Mafia in this lifetime. Thanks to his hard work, he was now just an ordinary high school student. Apart from occasionally... often wearing women's clothing, everything else was fine.
Thinking of this, Kurokawa Kaoru yawned, and at a glance he saw Kudo Shinichi walking "sneakily" in the direction where the man in black had just left.
“…”
Could it be that their famous detective has been a detective for so long that he is no longer afraid of death? Kurokawa Kaoru thought to himself.
In fact, at this time he just needed to turn around and leave.
But the problem is - he really hates owing favors to others.
The last time he saw someone, Kurokawa Kaoru happened to be under suspicion because he was wearing the same jacket as the suspect. If it weren't for Kudo Shinichi, the responsible police would have been able to clear him of suspicion if they had a bit of brains. It was just a matter of time.
However, he happened to have something important to do at that time. If it wasn't for Kudo Shinichi, if it was any other detective, he might not have been able to arrive at the transaction location on time.
"I'll be a good person just this once."
After cursing inwardly, Kurokawa Kaoru closed his eyes, and the next second, he ran after him.
The sun had completely set. Under the dim light, the pot-bellied man nervously held the suitcase, his face looking very anxious.
"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, Mr. Chairman."
A slightly fatter man in black came out from nowhere and spoke with a smile.
Hearing his voice, the man breathed a sigh of relief and asked hurriedly, "Did you get what I need?"
"It's nothing more than the evidence negative of your company's firearms smuggling. Is this what you want?"
Seeing the desire on the man's face, the man in black - Vodka sneered: "Bring the money first, and what you want will naturally be given to you."
"Take it."
The man opened the suitcase, revealing it was filled with 1,000 yen bills. Judging by the thickness of the suitcase, there must have been at least 100 million yen. Thinking he had discovered these guys' secret, Kudo Shinichi's breathing quickened. Just as he was about to move closer, he heard rustling footsteps behind him.
"It's time to end the detective game."
This was the last sentence Kudo Shinichi heard before he passed out.
“…”
"Brother? Is it really okay to just leave him here like this?"
Hearing a noise behind him, Vodka realized he was being followed. The high school detective who had just deduced in front of him was now drugged and lying on the grass.
Seeing this, Vodka opened his mouth and said with a troubled look on his face: "After all, he is still the famous detective..."
"idiot."
Gin, the long-haired, black-clad man that Kurokawa Kaoru was concerned about, scoffed and stuffed the box of newly developed poison back into his pocket. "With the strength of the Japanese police, there's no way they can track us down. As for this self-righteous detective, blame him for being overly curious about other people's affairs."
But Vodka had a point. Leaving Kudo Shinichi here like this would indeed cause a lot of trouble. Thinking of this, Gin's expression changed slightly, and he turned to look at Vodka: "Throw him into the lake, so that the police won't find him so quickly."
"As expected of you, big brother!"
Vodka raised his voice, handed the suitcase in his hand to Gin, turned around and was about to pull Kudo Shinichi up from the ground.
Then--
He just happened to meet the eyes of Kurokawa Kaoru who came over.
Vodka:!
"Brother! There are others!"
Hearing Vodka's voice, Gin immediately looked over and saw Kurokawa Kaoru trying to tuck her skirt behind a tree. Not far from her, Miya Yuu, who had been inexplicably pulled towards them, stared in their direction with a look of horror, backing away. Even if Kurokawa Kaoru hadn't worn such a complicated skirt, his position would have been exposed.
Perhaps he discovered this problem, the corners of Kurokawa Kaoru's mouth twitched, and he walked out from behind the tree helplessly.
"What a coincidence, I didn't expect you two to be here too."
"It's a coincidence indeed."
Gin laughed, his eyes falling on Kurokawa Kaoru: "Whatever brought you here, it doesn't matter to me, because you saw the secret of the organization."
The organization's secrets can't be read, so can your secrets be read casually? Kurokawa Kaoru complained in his heart.
Seeing someone take out a Beretta M92F from his shirt pocket, Kurokawa Kaoru's expression changed slightly and he suddenly raised his voice.
"Do you know who I am?"
Hearing his voice, Gin paused for a moment, then said, "Why don't you tell me who you really are... an ignorant little cat."
Kitten? For a moment, Kurokawa Kaoru's expression turned ferocious. But now was clearly not the time to dwell on this. Seeing the man already loading his pistol, his eyes narrowed, and the other party clearly heard what he said: "...Actually, I'm your colleague. Do you believe it?"
“…”
"Idle threats."
I'd expected some interesting answers, but instead, all I got was this kind of playful threat. Unable to tell whether it was disappointment or anger, Gin scoffed and looked at Kurokawa Kaoru with murderous intent. "If you have anything else to say, wait until you go to hell."
The trigger was pulled.
