Chapter Seventy-Five: Noodles with Minced Meat



The three children hadn't seen the new house yet, but now that they were here, they looked around at it curiously, circling the kiln.

Fan Mu asked curiously, "Mother, what are you going to do with this?"

Pei Yuezhi went over and demonstrated for them.

"I want to build a stove so I can bake things. Right now I've only built a platform, but I'll build one shaped like a cat's head later. It'll look nice and the food I make there will taste good too."

"That's great! Mu'er has never eaten anything made in an oven before."

The tasks of kneading the dough, rolling out the flatbread, and cutting the noodles will be done by my two sisters-in-law when they arrive.

The task of frying scallion oil was assigned to Liu Yuanyuan, who had done it once before and was experienced.

I'll prepare the meat sauce for the meat sauce noodles.

As for side dishes, such as shredded cucumber and shredded radish, they should be prepared closer to the mealtime, otherwise they won't taste good.

Choose meat with a 3:7 ratio of fat to lean, and mince it finely.

After preparing the scallions, ginger, and garlic, and with both sisters-in-law starting to roll out the dough, it was time to start making the sauce.

Add light soy sauce, sweet bean sauce, soybean paste, dark soy sauce, sugar, cooking wine, white pepper powder, and water, and stir-fry evenly.

After stir-frying until fragrant, add some chopped green onions and a little chicken bouillon, stir-fry briefly, and it's ready to serve.

This noodle dish with sauce is absolutely delicious!

Then I adjusted yesterday's sauce and cooked chicken breast, shredding it into thin strips.

The noodles are almost ready to be cooked, the meal will be ready soon, and we can start preparing the side dishes.

Shred the cucumber and carrot, and blanch the mung bean sprouts. I also prepared some garlic cloves, but I didn't peel them—it's too much trouble—so I put them in a small bowl to the side, and anyone who wants some can take a few.

They were also asked to fry a small bowl of eggs, which were served with scallion oil noodles, or sold for two coins each.

As for the fried noodles, Pei Yuezhi had a feeling that not many people would order them.

Several people carried up a large bowl of noodles, along with several smaller bowls of side dishes.

"Boss lady, noodles again today? Rinsed noodles, that's good."

"I haven't had noodles for days, and I'm really craving them. Hey, isn't this braised noodles?"

"It's a braised sauce, isn't it? It smells really good."

Pei Yuezhi replied with a smile, "Today we have sesame chicken noodles, meat sauce noodles, and scallion oil noodles that I made before. If you want fried noodles, you can have them fried first, but you'll have to wait a while."

"The noodles here are ten coins a bowl for meat sauce noodles and shredded chicken noodles, and eight coins a bowl for scallion oil noodles and fried noodles."

Upon hearing this, everyone thought it sounded good and began ordering noodles.

"I'll have a meat sauce pasta; it looks delicious."

"I want shredded chicken noodles. I've never heard of this kind of noodle before. I need to find out what it is."

After Pei Yuezhi agreed, she began serving the dishes one by one.

As for shredded chicken noodles, it's simply side dishes with shredded chicken, then topped with sesame sauce—quick and convenient.

"It smells amazing! This mouthful of noodles and this clove of garlic, how can it be so delicious?"

"Yeah, a bowl of cold noodles on a hot day is just perfect!"

Because it was noodles, everyone seemed to eat exceptionally fast, so with wave after wave of customers, Pei Yuezhi was actually getting a little tired.

Fortunately, one person could cook the noodles, so my cousin-in-law came to the front to help serve them.

Pei Yuezhi even slacked off for a while.

Everyone is familiar with the shop and the work environment, so they work together much more smoothly now.

Finally finished with her work, Pei Yuezhi finally got to eat the meat sauce noodles she had been craving all noon, and they were incredibly delicious.

After lunch, everyone went back to rest for a while. Since they all lived relatively close by, they could rest for an hour or two if they went back around 2 p.m.

They took the child back to Liu Yuanyuan's house first, rested for a while, and then spent the rest of the day together.

After playing all day, the kids are still easily sleepy. When they got home, they ate a piece of watermelon and drank some plum juice before falling asleep.

Pei Yuezhi pulled Liu Yuanyuan into the room. The new use of the physical store that she had discovered yesterday—the home furnishing section—was truly comfortable.

The two of them happily went to the physical shopping mall to rest.

Lying in bed, the two of them couldn't fall asleep for a while, so they started chatting.

"Yueyue, if you had the chance, would you still want to travel back in time?"

Pei Yuezhi thought for a moment and replied, "The main thing is that I can't go back. We're all dead now, and we've been burned to ashes long ago. Besides, I don't have anything to hold me back. The only thing I can't let go of is you. Now that you've come back, I've stopped thinking about going back."
