Chapter 705 Culture and Belief
It is difficult to have a specific definition of civilization, such as Confucianism in the previous life of the Fifth Xuan.
You say it is a useless discipline, but the ancient China, which has been at the forefront of the world for nearly two thousand years and even at the top many times, was created by it.
For a long period of time, those countries that were later called great powers could not catch up with it even if they galloped.
People's livelihood, agriculture, politics, and economy, under the influence of Confucian culture, are all ahead of the times.
But if you say that Confucianism is useful, in the final stage it allowed the enemy to win with fewer troops and occupy the entire country. In modern times, it has been completely surpassed by the great powers and beaten at will.
If it were not for the time when the country was destroyed and the race was extinct, countless heroes would emerge, and finally the strong man would unswervingly conquer the world and cleanse China. It is really hard to say what would happen in the end.
There was a period of time when Confucianism was criticized so much that the second son of the Kong family was almost beaten and was almost put on the pillar of shame.
But before the Fifth Xuan traveled through time, he was catching up with the Great China, although he did not rush to the world status of ancient China at its peak.
But the discourse power and strength are indeed much better than before, and it is expected that this situation will continue to improve.
Why?
The Fifth Xuan thinks that this matter still needs to be deeply explored in culture, and deeply explored in Confucianism in culture.
Excluding the cognitive bias brought about by the changing times, is Confucianism really so "dirty"?
The Fifth Xuan does not think so.
Every era has its own different demands. We have broken the feudal system, and looking back at the feudal system is certainly not good.
But is there no light in the feudal system?
If there is, this light should be Confucianism.
On the other hand, how much influence did the Great China receive from Confucian culture when it set sail?
One of the iconic features of Confucian culture is the family-based monarchy.
From high-ranking officials to peddlers and hawkers, everyone must have a heart to serve the country. If not, it is disloyal, and if not, even parents can say that you are unfilial.
Diwu Xuan believes that it is this spirit that makes everyone in New China willing to contribute to this country, which has led to the rapid rise of this country.
Although there were various problems before Diwu Xuan traveled through time, such as insufficient innovation, lack of copyright awareness, etc., but many times, this is an exaggeration.
When the American empire was developing, it pirated British literature. Britain criticized the United States for this, but the United States was still rogue and didn't care.
Over and over again, it is still the same reason. Times have changed, demands are different, and there will naturally be deviations in needs and practices. As long as the spirit is still there and the will of the iron-headed boy is there, he will eventually find his own way.
So when the Fifth Xuan first established the Fire Tribe culture, the first thing he started was private ownership, followed by the culture of filial piety.
And it was the filial piety culture of ancient China, not the kind of great powers.
People can only live with teeth if they have concerns and ties. Otherwise, if everyone takes care of themselves and gets rid of themselves, what will happen to the family and the country?
In addition to the culture of loyalty and filial piety, as a totem, the Fifth Xuan has to pay attention to the culture of faith.
The ancient Chinese belief culture is mainly Taoism and Confucianism. To be honest, the Fifth Xuan feels that neither of these two schools is good.
The former was almost cut off in the new China, or in other words, completely integrated into the culture without independence.
As for the latter, Diwu Xuan did not like it very much.
Before he traveled through time, he said something that was exaggerated but very interesting:
In prosperous times, Buddhism flourished throughout the world, while Taoism hid alone in the mountains;
in troubled times, Bodhisattvas did not care about things, while Laojun carried a sword to save Cangsang.
This statement is certainly not completely correct, but judging from the worldly affairs that Diwu Xuan experienced in his previous life, it makes some sense.
When he traveled, he saw more Bodhisattvas and less Taoists. Of course, he did not know about the troubled times.
Buddhism may be a very excellent philosophical thought, but if it is regarded as a belief, Diwu Xuan himself cannot do it. If
he cannot do it himself, he naturally cannot promote this thought to his people, so there is not much Buddhist culture in the alliance he established.
He never mentioned the idea of suffering to atone for sins, seeking afterlife, and abstaining from sex and lust.
He asked his people to endure hardships, but they had to have a plan, otherwise it would be in vain and would be a discredit to the justice and morality of the world.
He never mentioned the idea of abstaining from afterlife. If you can't live well in this life, how can you live well in the next life?
So life has really become "a game and a dream"? If you don't play well, just save the game in advance and then start over at any time?
Fifth Xuan was even more opposed to abstaining from sex and lust. What the alliance lacks now is people. Let's talk about this after the population is rampant.
But he didn't want his people to indulge in sensual pleasures, so he still used the Confucian idea of self-restraint.
Don't abstain, but restrain and be moderate, that's good enough.
Excluding Buddhism, Fifth Xuan once considered using the methods of Western sects, and even named the current temple a church.
The advantage of Western religions is that they are easy to spread and are more clearly organized, that is, they have clear regulations.
What is good, what is evil, what can be done, and what cannot be done can generally be clearly stated.
But after much thought, the Fifth Mystery still did not promote it. One reason is that after raising the faith too high, it is easy to breed various problems.
After all, no matter how clear the religious rules are, they are different from the law. Once its influence is greater than the law, the darkness in the shadows is too unbearable to look at.
Moreover, under the suggestion and promotion of the Fifth Mystery over the years, Taichu’s faith has long been stable enough, and He does not need to make unnecessary promotions.
In this way, it is better to determine Confucian culture as the main body, supplemented by Taoism to determine the output of faith, and to form the culture of the alliance in this way.
The advantage of Taoism is that it stays away from politics. The more moral a Taoist is, the further he is from politics, and even from his own people.
They only focus on their own beliefs, and that is enough. Excessive dissemination or getting close to power is a harm to the power of the alliance's top leaders.
Before, except for the period of time when he was preparing to become a god, the Fifth Xuan had fully integrated the beliefs. Since then, the Fifth Xuan has allowed the temples to develop freely.
But this time, the reincarnation system has been established, and he is preparing to promote the land god. The meaning is completely different.
This is a completely perfect system. Through the land god, the belief is sent to the countryside.
It is completely different to let the belief enter the grassroots. The impact on the belief of many totems in the alliance will be very strong.
The Fifth Xuan is naturally invincible. No matter where the temple is, the first one to be worshipped must be him.
Even if the temple is called the land temple, the statue of him is sitting on the main seat, and no one can change this.
But apart from him, the status of the other totems will be in jeopardy.
"Don't do this in a big way. Do it quietly, starting from the villages."
The idea of the Fifth Xuan is nothing more than surrounding the city with the countryside. When the high-level totems react, the thing will be done, and they can only accept it.
The ancestors nodded, wrote down the things, and started to discuss again, and the Fifth Xuan went to the underworld to put forward some ideas.
Generally speaking, it's nothing more than the judge, the eighteen layers of hell, etc., just give orders, and the big leader will naturally arrange it.
Even if his administrative ability is average, there are still six generations of leaders to assist him. The six generations of leaders are outstanding people of their generation.
