Celestial Moon Palace Undercover Room 1

Celestial Moon Palace Undercover Room 1

Xie Guijin tucked her tail between her legs, turned around, and hopped around the pillow under Chu Shuyue's head, hiding on the inside of the bed. She bared her teeth at the Demon Doctor and said, "Pfft! Squeak—! Pfft pfft pfft!"

The demon doctor reluctantly withdrew his hand, touched his nose and pretended nothing had happened. He turned around and fiddled with the magic needles, first soaking them in the bright green medicinal oil, then taking them out to roast. Once everything was ready, he took the needle case back to the bedside.

Xie Guijin bent over, her two small eyes staring intently at it.

The demonic doctor didn't rush to insert the needles. It said to Xie Guijin, "You can understand me, right? I'm going to give him acupuncture, so you absolutely mustn't cause any trouble."

Xie Guijin nodded her little head and made a "coo coo~~" sound.

"You can really understand!" the magic doctor said with delight, placing the needle case next to his pillow.

Xie Guijin tilted her head towards Chu Shuyue, gesturing repeatedly for the Demon Doctor to hurry up and make his move.

The Demon Doctor chuckled, then bent down and picked up a needle. It seemed to transform into a demon, its lips pursed in a serious expression as it swiftly inserted the needle.

Chu Shuyue remained motionless, still being manipulated by the Demon Doctor, without even letting out a muffled groan.

Xie Guijin tilted her head slightly, her eyes following the movements of the Demon Doctor, not daring to breathe.

After the demonic healer finished administering the acupuncture, he slowly exhaled, took out a handkerchief from his sleeve to wipe his sweat, and looked at Xie Guijin again, his eyes full of envy, saying, "Are you Master Chu Gui's beloved pet? It's so intelligent, I want to raise one too."

Xie Guijin snorted through her nostrils, then turned her body around angrily, turning her back to the Demon Doctor.

"Little thing, you've got quite a temper." The Demon Doctor didn't take it seriously. After a while, he put away the needles. Once he was done tidying up, he dragged a chair over and placed it by the bedside. He sat down in the chair and watched over Chu Shuyue.

Xie Guijin pricked up her ears, quietly turned around, and stared at Chu Shuyue's profile without blinking.

The Demon Doctor chuckled and said, "Don't worry, he's just unconscious and will wake up soon."

A demon and a rabbit guarded the place until dawn, but Chu Shuyue did not wake up.

The Sixth Princess has returned from the Demon Law Palace.

The sixth princess's first words were to point at Chu Shuyue and ask the demonic doctor, "How is he?"

The demonic doctor said, "He still needs acupuncture and medicine; the sooner he wakes up, the better."

"You should go and rest first. I will have other demon healers take turns guarding you," the Sixth Princess nodded.

The Demon Doctor bowed and walked out as instructed, his heart filled with excitement. He felt that his good days of rising to prominence were finally coming. The Sixth Princess really cared about Master Chu. As long as he cured him, he would definitely rise to the top with this opportunity.

"I wonder what the Sixth Princess is confiding in Master Chu right now?" the Demon Doctor wondered to himself.

The sixth princess, whom it was eyeing, did not utter a single word to the unconscious Chu Shuyue, but instead said to Xie Guijin, "That vile thing has confessed."

Xie Guijin was very curious about how the wine merchant prince stored demonic energy, where the stored demonic energy went, and what it was originally intended to do.

"Coo-coo—quack-quack—, whimper-whimper?" Xie Guijin asked a series of questions.

Seeing this, the Sixth Princess knew that Xie Guijin was asking a question, but she didn't know what she was asking, so she said, "Let me tell you from the beginning."

Just as they began, a witch entered and reported, "Princess, the Moon Palace Master Chang'e has arrived." After saying this, she glanced at Xie Guijin, who was lying on the bed with her head tilted to one side.

"Quickly invite the fairy in," the Sixth Princess ordered.

The witch accepted the order and left, soon returning with a fairy whose face was as smooth as jade, whose teeth were bright and white, and whose beauty was aloof and captivating.

Upon seeing the legendary Chang'e, Xie Guijin couldn't help but feel a little excited, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at the fairy Chang'e, who wore a laurel crown and a light green tassel dress.

But then Chang'e scolded, "You wretched creature, what are you doing here?"

Then, Chang'e apologized to the Sixth Princess, saying, "My fairy pet is ignorant and has troubled the Sixth Princess. I will take it back now."

Before the Sixth Princess could refuse, Xie Guijin made a "pfft" sound of refusal.

"Be good, don't be irritable, come back with me quickly," Chang'e coaxed, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.

Xie Guijin retreated until she reached the inside wall of the bed, where she had nowhere left to go.

Chang'e panicked and reached out to use her magic to capture her back.

The Sixth Princess stepped between Chang'e and Xie Guijin and said, "Fairy, please wait. This Jade Rabbit is not the same Jade Rabbit you had before. She has something on her mind and I'm afraid she cannot leave with you."

"What do you mean by that, Princess?" Chang'e asked, her face showing displeasure.

The Sixth Princess turned slightly to the side, pointing her palm upward at Xie Guijin, and said to Chang'e, "The Jade Rabbit now contains the soul of a visitor from another world. Fairy, you might as well take a closer look."

Chang'e looked closely and saw that it was indeed so. She asked suspiciously, "Does the princess know who did this? And what is their intention?"

It's not surprising that Chang'e, with her limited cultivation, couldn't recognize Xie Guijin at a glance using her magic.

Xie Guijin, a pet expert who has raised two dogs and a cat, felt something was strange. As the owner, Chang'e should be able to recognize that she was not the Jade Rabbit at first glance without any external help. Why couldn't Chang'e recognize her?

Xie Guijin even suspected that this Chang'e was fake, otherwise why wouldn't she recognize her pet that she had been with day and night for tens of thousands of years?

Just as Xie Guijin was lost in thought, the Sixth Princess briefly recounted to Chang'e her past interactions with Xie Guijin.

Chang'e suddenly realized, "So that's how it is. I heard the Fairy of a Hundred Flowers mention before that the Ghost Messengers who cross over to the Ghost Realm are very different from other worlds, and are actually visitors from another world."

"If the fairy is interested, why not have her transform into human form and tell her about her amazing adventures?" the Sixth Princess suggested with a smile.

Chang'e looked troubled and said, "To be honest, Princess, the Jade Rabbit is currently being punished. Its magic is restricted, and it cannot transform into human form. That's why I didn't take a closer look just now and rushed to take it back, for fear that the celestial guards would misunderstand that it had escaped and that its punishment would be increased."

Since immortals and demons are different, the Sixth Princess did not feel comfortable asking the Jade Rabbit what mistake it had made that was so serious. It pointed at Chu Shuyue and said truthfully, "But he has not yet woken up. I'm afraid Miss Xie will feel uneasy and will not be able to leave with the fairy."

Xie Guijin pressed his body tightly against the wall, nodding repeatedly and making "cooing" sounds.

Chang'e had just heard the Sixth Princess recount the whole story of Xue Linchuan's sacrifice for Xie Guijin last night, and she felt reluctant and said, "But if she doesn't come back with me, I'm afraid it will bring punishment from the celestial realm and endanger her and the Jade Rabbit's lives."

Xie Guijin said to the system, "Go ask the Jade Rabbit what terrible mistake it made that puts its life in danger."

"Aaaaah!" The system returned shortly after, yelling in despair, "Host, all it does is squeak—squeak, squeak, it never stops, I'm going to be driven crazy by the noise, I can't understand a word it says."

Xie Guijin had no choice but to say to Chang'e, "Waaah! (What wrong could the Jade Rabbit, a diligent little rabbit pounding medicine, have done? Why is it imprisoned? Did it pound a hole through the moon?)"

Chang'e could understand rabbit language, but with the Sixth Princess present, she couldn't speak clearly. She simply said, "Come back with me first, and we'll discuss this further, shall we?"

Xie Guijin was so concerned that she shook her head, unwilling to leave.

The Sixth Princess understood Chang'e's implication and said to Xie Guijin, "Why don't you go back with the fairy first, and when he wakes up, I'll send a message to the fairy and have her tell you?"

Upon hearing this, Chang'e felt a little guilty and quickly said, "Thank you, Princess."

Seeing this, Xie Guijin knew she was powerless to change anything, and she couldn't really fight back to the death. By stubbornly refusing to leave, she caused the Jade Rabbit's punishment to worsen, so she had no choice but to obediently jump into Chang'e's arms and follow her back to the Moon Palace.

Chang'e opened a small room and saw a small, exquisite stone mortar standing in the middle of the room. Next to it, on a small table, was a short stone pestle. To the left, a wooden shelf was stacked with layers of immortal herbs, laurel branches, and other things that had been brought from somewhere and were drying. To the right, a wooden shelf was placed against the wall, with layers of white jade bottles and green jade boxes on top, containing prepared immortal medicines. The room was filled with a faint medicinal fragrance, which smelled very pleasant.

Just as Xie Guijin was intently observing the room, Chang'e naturally touched her from head to toe.

Xie Guijin instantly bristled, and without turning her head, she screamed and staggered to the middle wooden frame.

Chang'e held onto her still-open hand and said awkwardly, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was you for a moment. I'm just used to it."

On the wooden shelf in the middle were some documents. Xie Guijin carefully avoided the documents, found a gap to lie down, and said impatiently to Chang'e, "It's alright, I understand. Now you can tell me, what exactly happened?"

Chang'e closed the door, took a few herbs from the shelf on the right and threw them into the stone mortar. She picked up the stone pestle on the small table and said as she pounded the herbs, "You know the laurel tree that Wu Gang keeps chopping down, right? Every time a piece of that tree is chopped off, it heals instantly. The chopped branches can be used to make elixirs, and they are one of the most important raw materials that the Jade Rabbit uses to pound medicine."

"Not long ago, the Xuanlu Tianshu Palace received a report that the Jade Rabbit was privately reselling laurel branches. After investigation, the Xuanlu Tianshu Palace confirmed this, which is a serious crime. Originally, the Jade Rabbit was to be imprisoned in the Repentance Pavilion, but considering that it was a first-time offender and an ignorant animal, its magical powers were restricted, and it was confined to a dark room in the Moon Palace to reflect on its mistakes. I was ordered to supervise it." Chang'e's voice was as sweet as a nightingale's as she slowly recounted the story.

"Is the punishment to confine it to its own studio?" Xie Guijin asked, puzzled. "Is this work absolutely necessary?"

“A workshop? That’s a rather novel idea,” Chang’e shook her head and said, “No, I brought all these things in from outside. I thought that if it could make more elixirs, it could make up for its past mistakes.”

Xie Guijin, recalling the system's description of the Jade Rabbit's intense reaction, harbored doubts and asked Chang'e, "Do you really believe it was the Jade Rabbit who did it?"

"I don't want to believe it, but the facts are undeniable, leaving me no choice but to believe it." Chang'e said, skillfully putting down the stone pestle, taking out the elixir from the mortar, packing it into a box and placing it on the shelf.

"Who judged the case in that place called Tian Shu Hall? Was it a celestial official under Erlang Shen?" Xie Guijin pressed.

“No, the Temple of Justice belongs to the God Realm. The Xuanlu Tianshu Temple, which is in charge of the celestial realm’s justice, is the one who judged this case,” Chang’e said, her cheeks flushing slightly, and she whispered, “It was Hou Yi.”

"Hou Yi is still alive?" Xie Guijin asked in surprise.
