Demon Realm Slaughter Trial 3
Xue Linchuan quickly grabbed Xie Guijin's arm and said, "Let's leave here first."
Xie Guijin struggled desperately, ignoring everything else.
“You are now the Sixth Princess, and we cannot allow the other demons of the Demon Realm to see her in such a sorry state.” Xue Linchuan knew Xie Guijin’s character well and immediately invoked the title of Sixth Princess.
Xie Guijin stopped struggling and let Xue Linchuan lead her away.
It wasn't that Xie Guijin didn't want to leave on her own; it was that she suddenly lost control of the demonic energy within her body. Not only was she unable to use her internal energy to leave, but she also lost control of her body.
The Sixth Princess possessed powerful magic, and Xie Guijin, severely injured yet unwilling to accept defeat, activated the protective spell within her body, unleashing an indiscriminate attack.
Blood trickled from the corner of Xue Linchuan's mouth, but he gritted his teeth and endured the pain, using a magic spell to bring Xie Guijin directly back to the Sixth Princess's palace.
With no witches guarding the palace, Xue Linchuan immediately helped Xie Guijin suppress her demonic energy.
Perhaps it was because she was back in a familiar environment that Xie Guijin's violent demonic energy gradually subsided.
Upon realizing she could move, Xie Guijin swiftly dodged and forcibly severed the connection between her demonic energy and Xue Linchuan.
Xue Linchuan maintained his posture of channeling demonic energy. Seeing this, he breathed a barely perceptible sigh of relief and said softly, "I'll go check what happened with the trap earlier. Don't make any rash moves, okay?"
"I can investigate myself, no need for you to worry about it," Xie Guijin snorted coldly.
Xue Linchuan smiled warmly and said softly, "Everyone in the Six Realms knows that the Sixth Princess is powerful. No demon would be foolish enough to harm her in this way and humiliate themselves. So the trap just now was most likely not aimed at you. If you investigate it yourself, wouldn't you let the demon behind the scenes see through your scheme?"
"What if a demon uses the pretext of possession to imprison and kill you? As for the Sixth Princess's subordinates, it's not convenient for them to know about this. I am the most suitable person to do so. Gui Jin, if you are dissatisfied with me, you can hit me or kill me as you please, but please don't hurt yourself, okay?" Xue Linchuan's words were full of pleading.
Seeing the bloodstains on Xue Linchuan's moon-white robe, Xie Guijin could no longer utter hurtful words. She bit her lower lip and turned her face away, refusing to look at Xue Linchuan again.
Xue Linchuan understood, placed the medicine he had hastily picked up on the dressing table, and left.
Hearing him leave, Xie Guijin stood with her back to him for a moment, silently apologizing to the Sixth Princess: "I'm sorry, it's my fault for hurting you."
After apologizing, she went to the dressing table to look in the mirror to see if she had hurt her face, but instead saw a familiar wound medicine on the table.
Xie Guijin paused for a moment, glanced at the small wound on her cheek in her glasses, and without hesitation reached out to pick up the medicine bottle, uncorked it, and applied the medicine to herself.
After Xie Guijin finished treating all her wounds, the system finally couldn't hold back any longer and casually asked, "Host, have you forgiven Xue Linchuan?"
“No,” Xie Guijin said coldly and firmly.
The system didn't understand: "Then why did you use his medicine?"
"Hmph, why would I make things difficult for myself? I can't let the demons of the Demon Palace know I'm injured. How can I get better without their medicine? Besides, this isn't my own body. I can't possibly give the Sixth Princess a tattered old woman in seven days, can I?" Xie Guijin tossed the medicine bottle aside.
The medicine bottle landed on the dressing table with a "thud".
The system was startled. Thinking about its recent interactions with other systems, it said, "Look how good he is to you. Just forgive him. Don't you humans always say that it's a great virtue to admit one's mistakes and correct them? I think he knows he's wrong. Give him a good scolding, or if that doesn't work, give him a good beating."
“One thing at a time. No matter how good he is to me, it doesn’t change the fact that he’s been secretly following me.” Xie Guijin said decisively, holding a teleportation spell. “Some mistakes don’t deserve forgiveness.”
"Host, where are you going? You can't run around like this, your injuries haven't fully healed yet." The system was really anxious.
"Don't worry, I'm going to study." Xie Guijin had already applied medicine and changed her clothes. She teleported to the Sixth Princess's private training room without attracting the attention of the demons in the Demon Palace.
Xie Guijin searched through her memories and seized the time to practice demonic magic.
The Sixth Princess possesses formidable magical power, so Xie Guijin doesn't need to cultivate it. She only needs to familiarize herself with casting spells so that she can use them accurately and promptly in the next battle.
Xie Guijin studied so diligently that he forgot to eat and sleep until the afternoon of the next day, when his demon subordinates came to report the preliminary results of their research. Only then did he stop.
Xie Guijin quickly flipped through the documents. She had no interest in what goods the demons wanted to trade. She was focused on finding out what the demons needed for housing. Anyway, the Sixth Princess was rich and powerful. No matter what the lower-level demons asked for, as long as it wasn't too outrageous, Xie Guijin could satisfy them.
She was determined to complete this task and was eager to finish it as soon as possible so that she could stay in the Sixth Princess's Demon Palace and spend the rest of her days happily.
Unfortunately, Xie Guijin couldn't find any information about the demons' need for housing, no matter how hard she tried.
Xie Guijin looked up from the documents in astonishment and asked, "Did you forget to ask them what kind of houses they wanted, where they wanted them to be located, and what kind of supporting houses were available nearby?"
“We asked,” the demon who came to report said truthfully, “and they were unwilling to waste the opportunity and refused to make any requests.”
"Opportunity?" Xie Guijin was puzzled and was about to ask when he suddenly smelled the faint medicinal fragrance lingering on her body. He changed his mind and said, "I understand. Go down and sort out what they want to buy and sell, then go to various circles to find out what can be traded, and then come back to me."
After sending the demons away, Xie Guijin opened the system interface, tapping around the various items she had previously extorted from the system—no, I mean, made reasonable claims against it.
"Host, what are you looking for?" the system asked curiously.
While reading the instructions, Xie Guijin explained, "Find the props that will allow me to talk to the Sixth Princess."
"Huh? There's no such item. Host, don't waste your time. You were able to talk to Biluoji before because her true form was a spiritual vein, not sealed within her divine consciousness," the system quickly advised.
"I see," Xie Guijin said, closing the interface as advised. "Then please think of a solution."
"Me?" the system said angrily. "No, you're trying to scam me again."
"How can it be extortion? It's clearly a win-win situation. My completion of the mission also benefits you, right?" Xie Guijin coaxed gently, "Helping me is helping yourself. Besides, this situation is special. What if they find out that I am not the Sixth Princess and destroy me? How will you compensate the original Sixth Princess?"
"I doubt you'll be able to compensate us then. Can you afford to take that responsibility?" Xie Guijin said calmly, stroking his chin.
"Stop scaring me," the system said frantically. "You wait, I'm going to ask the mainframe."
Xie Guijin smiled and said, "Go ahead and tell the mainframe properly."
"Understood," the system message flashed.
Xie Guijin raised her hand and cast a cleansing spell, getting rid of the medicinal smell from her body completely.
A moment later, the system changed to a high-pitched voice: "Host, our mainframe said that you are the most demanding and difficult host among all of us."
"Oh," Xie Guijin said indifferently, "You've got it sorted out, right? Let's get started now. Have the Sixth Princess come out."
"Host, don't you care about this evaluation?" the system exclaimed in disbelief.
"Why should I care? Even if you were people, so what if you were just a bunch of data?" Xie Guijin spread his hands and said, "I have neither embezzled nor broken any moral boundaries."
"The fact that I can make so many demands shows that your work is not standardized, and you should reflect on that," Xie Guijin said, not wanting to waste any more time on internal strife. "Alright, let's get down to business."
The system opened its mouth, wanting to refute, but the past was still vivid in its mind. It had never gotten the better of Xie Guijin, so it could only swallow its anger and silently recite in its heart: "I won't get angry when others are angry, because if I get sick from anger, no one can take my place."
Having calmed his mind, the system said, "Host, just tell me what questions you have, and I will go deep into your sea of consciousness to ask the Sixth Princess."
“Alright,” Xie Guijin didn’t insist on meeting the Sixth Princess face to face. She was afraid the system wouldn’t remember, so she gave it a list.
After receiving the system, it worked diligently as a switchboard operator.
After it returned, Xie Guijin understood what "not wasting an opportunity" meant.
Unlike the other realms, the Demon Realm's inhabitants genuinely believe in the supremacy of the strong.
The code of conduct for all demons in the entire demon realm is to prioritize improving their cultivation level; those with higher cultivation levels will naturally receive better treatment.
Most of the lower-level demons are born weak and lack demonic energy.
However, in the demon realm, success or failure is not determined by bloodline; acquired cultivation is more important, though those who are born with deficiencies must put in more effort.
Besides diligent practice, certain elixirs, magical treasures, and magical artifacts can help one achieve twice the result with half the effort.
All the items the demons requested for trade were based on their cultivation needs.
Given the prevailing atmosphere in the Demon Realm, there is naturally little protection for the weak. Xie Guijin's survey was unprecedented, and the Demon Clan was naturally unwilling to waste this hard-won opportunity to obtain cheap housing.
This misunderstanding arose from poor communication among the parties involved.
"The Sixth Princess said she received your apology, host, and asked me to tell you to take care of yourself, not to die before she returns, and preferably not to get injured again," the system concluded.
Xie Guijin awkwardly touched her nose and said dryly, "I understand."
"Host, since it's a misunderstanding, quickly summon your subordinates and have them explain to the lower-level demons that the house doesn't affect their desire for other items," the system suggested.
Upon hearing this, Xie Guijin closed her eyes and rubbed her temples, saying, "Forget it, it's useless. This will only arouse unnecessary suspicion and won't achieve our goal."
The system watched as Xie Guijin put down her hand, got up, and walked towards the bed, looking like she was about to sleep. It felt like it was going to break its heart: "Host, aren't you anxious? What time is it? You still have the mind to sleep? What about your house-selling task?"
Xie Guijin sighed softly, jumped onto the bed, rolled around in the blanket, and said, "I'm tired, let's talk about it tomorrow."
"Sigh," the system said with exasperation as it looked at Xie Guijin, who had fallen asleep instantly, "It's like the emperor isn't worried, but the eunuch is."
