Ghost Realm River View Room 3

Ghost Realm River View Room 3

"Host, what's this? I didn't see you buy it just now." The system looked puzzled.

"This is some plaster I scraped off the outer wall of the Biancheng Royal Palace." Xie Guijin gathered the powder into a small bottle.

The system was even more confused: "When did you do that? I didn't know."

"While you were attentively listening to my workplace lesson," Xie Guijin said, tucking the small bottle into her bosom.

"No, I didn't, you're lying." The system denied it three times in a row.

Xie Guijin casually replied, "Say whatever you want."

She tiptoed out of the alley and then froze as if she had been frozen in place.

The alleyway was filled with all sorts of incomplete and broken ghosts.

Seeing that Xie Guijin had spotted them, the ghosts all gave her eerie smiles. They grinned and mumbled, "A ghost messenger who sneaked in without a token, hehehe, eat her."

Several eyeballs bounced and hopped around the gaps between the ghosts' positions, heading straight for Xie Guijin.

Xie Guijin leaned back slightly, trying to escape, but was pinned to the spot by an invisible force and could not move.

She knew in her heart that this was not a spell, but rather that she had lost control of her body in a state of extreme panic, and her brain was unable to command her limbs.

"Thump thump thump," was Xie Guijin's heartbeat, the sound seemingly ringing in her ears.

Xie Guijin let out a hoarse gasp.

In an instant, she felt that nothing in the world existed; she could neither hear nor see.

When Xie Guijin came to her senses, she found herself curled up in a dark cabinet. Her mind was blank, and she didn't know how she had managed to escape the encirclement of ghosts.

The temporarily safe environment allowed Xie Guijin to gradually regain her ability to think. She realized that she had just unleashed an extremely strong will to survive. Unable to fight against the ghosts, she regained control of her body and embarked on a high-speed chase, a race against time.

Gasping for breath, Xie Guijin complained to the system in a low voice, "Huff, huff, I'm a ghost now, hah, my lungs probably can't be used anymore, but, it's about to explode, it's so uncomfortable."

"Host, you can't do this. Look at your back, it's covered in wounds." The system didn't respond, but instead said worriedly, "Luckily, none of them are fatal. You might not be so lucky next time. Why did you take off your Shadow Cloak just now? Put it back on."

Xie Guijin, holding her chest and catching her breath, explained, "Those clothes aren't very practical. They can only be used three times, and each time they're too short. I was thinking of using them once more when we go out, and I also need to save one for a crisis."

“But you are in a critical moment right now,” the system said anxiously.

“I never expected the ghosts in the City of the Wrongfully Dead to be so terrifying,” Xie Guijin said, still shaken. “They’re much scarier than the ones in the clinic. They even attack me. No, they want to eat me! It’s terrifying.”

The system said impatiently, "How can the sick ghosts in the clinic compare to the ghosts in the City of the Wrongfully Dead?! I think your IQ has dropped. What do we do now?"

"Hiss," Xie Guijin moved slightly, pulling at her wound and wincing in pain.

The eerie wind from the City of the Wrongfully Dead blew in through the cracks in the cabinet door, and Xie Guijin felt a chill run down her spine.

Xie Guijin was filled with remorse. It was her misjudgment, lack of consideration, and insufficient preparation that had led her into such a dangerous situation.

After thinking for a moment, Xie Guijin put on the Shadow Cloak again, opened the cabinet door with trepidation, and quickly slipped out.

She answered the system's previous question: "The only way now is to find the city gate before the Shadow Cloak expires twice and get out as soon as possible."

"Aren't you going to look for Xue Linchuan anymore?" the system pressed.

"If we run into each other, great," Xie Guijin said, tightening his concealing raincoat. "If we don't, we'll talk about it next time."

Her eyes darted anxiously around her, desperately trying to recall the way she had come from.

The dim, eerie green will-o'-the-wisps were the only source of light in the City of the Wrongfully Dead. Their faint glow could not penetrate the perpetual gray fog that enveloped the city. Xie Guijin's vision was obstructed, making it impossible for her to discern directions or identify the way she had come from amidst the similarly dark buildings.

"We can't delay any longer," Xie Guijin thought to herself.

She closed her eyes, turned around and pretended to grab the cabinet door to go inside, then, like a movie replay, she withdrew the action, backwards, and groped her way back by feeling.

The City of the Wrongfully Dead contains countless numb and wandering broken souls.

With the blessing of the Shadow Cloak, Xie Guijin desperately searched for a way to survive, and his soul could pass through the City of the Dead without being detected.

Before the Shadow Cloak failed for the first time, Xie Guijin opened her eyes and hid under a table on the side of the street. She only needed a few seconds to reactivate the cloak, as long as she wasn't discovered by the ghost during those few seconds.

She dared not enter the house casually; this table was the best cover she could see, and she had observed that none of the ghosts around her were paying attention to that table.

Just as she took a deep breath and prepared to put on her raincoat, a ghost with a long tongue hanging upside down in front of her shouted in an extremely hoarse and unpleasant voice, "Gotcha! I'll eat you."

Xie Guijin suppressed her scream and sprinkled the wall plaster she had prepared beforehand at the upside-down ghost. At the same time, she activated the Shadow Cloak and rushed off the table while the upside-down ghost was distracted by the wall plaster powder.

Once again concealing her presence, Xie Guijin didn't waste a moment. She stood on the street she had just left, closed her eyes, and relied on her senses to find her way back.

Without sight, hearing would be amplified countless times.

As Xie Guijin walked, she vaguely heard Xue Linchuan's sobbing, which seemed to be a form of resistance.

Xie Guijin quickly opened her eyes and followed the sound.

Sure enough, they saw a ghost with a figure like Xue Linchuan being pushed and shoved by several tall and burly ghosts, knocked to the ground, and his face hitting the ground.

Xie Guijin rushed over, grabbed the bullied ghost from behind, and forced it to face her by its shoulders. What she saw was Xue Linchuan's face.

Xue Linchuan didn't resist; he just stood there dumbfounded.

Xie Guijin shook Xue Linchuan's arms, asking, "Xue Linchuan, what's wrong with you?"

Xue Linchuan's body swayed, but he showed no other reaction.

Xie Guijin was confused and dared not leave the mentally challenged Xue Linchuan alone, so she had no choice but to drag Xue Linchuan away first.

The remaining ghosts couldn't sense Xie Guijin, but they could see Xue Linchuan, and they all stepped forward to stop him.

Xie Guijin found it difficult to get rid of him for a while.

She led Xue Linchuan forward with difficulty, but fortunately they could already see the tall city gate in the distance, so they no longer needed to walk with their eyes closed.

Xie Guijin gazed at the city gate as she moved through the city, holding tightly to Xue Linchuan with one hand while scattering more and more ghosts with the other.

After much effort, they finally arrived at the main street directly opposite the city gate. Xie Guijin gasped and desperately grabbed Xue Linchuan as they rushed toward the city gate, with the ghosts in hot pursuit.

Just as they were about to reach the city gate, the Shadow Cloak failed.

The ghosts that had been wandering around Xue Linchuan before suddenly swarmed in, making it difficult for Xie Guijin to move. She had no choice but to break the deadlock by force.

The system screamed, "Use the wall plaster! Use it now!"

While protecting her master Xue Linchuan and fighting with the ghosts, Xie Guijin subconsciously replied, "No, the wall plaster must be left to pass through the city gate, otherwise we won't be able to get past the restrictions imposed by the King of Biancheng."

The ghosts' agonizing screams echoed endlessly, but more and more fierce ghosts emerged from the walls and underground, rushing towards Xie Guijin and Xue Linchuan.

Xie Guijin's face turned deathly pale. She kept making hand seals, but to no avail. All the vengeful ghosts in the entire City of the Wrongfully Dead were surging towards this place.

Suddenly, a ghostly claw appeared out of nowhere and went straight for Xie Guijin's throat!

Just then, Xue Linchuan's ghost suddenly grabbed Xie Guijin with great force and pulled him behind her. Due to inertia, Xie Guijin turned around and was met with the ghost's claw from behind.

"Pfft—!" The ghostly claw pierced Xue Linchuan's soul body's chest, penetrating it completely.

Xue Linchuan trembled violently, his soul shadow dimming slightly. Facing Xie Guijin, he struggled to utter two words: "Run."

Xie Guijin supported the swaying Xue Linchuan. Behind them came the sound of ghost messengers entering the city, but she couldn't hear anything.

The next instant, Xue Linchuan, with a strength he didn't know he possessed, shoved Xie Guijin away violently.

Unfortunately, Xie Guijin was not pushed out of the ghosts' encirclement. She quickly regained her senses and continued fighting, but it was as laughable as an ant trying to shake a tree.

Seeing Xue Linchuan engulfed by ghosts, Xie Guijin made a desperate move and threw all the plaster powder at him. The ghosts surrounding Xue Linchuan were burned and screamed as they retreated.

Xie Guijin was injured by ghosts from all directions. The intense pain made her kneel down. She realized that her life force was exhausted and she would die in an instant. She thought, "So this is where I am going to die."

In a flash, Xie Guijin smiled and said to the system, "Sorry, your first job failed. Next time, I'll pick a better host. Forget it, you're too stupid, you'll be disliked. You should change careers and stop being a human trafficker."

Before the system could say anything...

Suddenly, a spiritual power she had never sensed before emanated from Xie Guijin's body, and a bluish-green spiritual energy burst forth from her body.

The horde of ghosts that had rushed forward to tear Xie Guijin apart were shattered by the greenish-blue spiritual energy. The other ghosts were shocked by this sudden and powerful force, and retreated in fear, not daring to go forward easily. They all peeked out and looked around cautiously.

However, the spiritual energy within Xie Guijin did not give them a chance to wait. The bluish-green spiritual energy spread slowly towards the City of the Wrongfully Dead, with Xie Guijin as the center. Wherever it went, the ghosts dissipated. Only Xue Linchuan, who had just been firmly protected in Xie Guijin's arms, was spared.

Xie Guijin didn't know what was going on either. She only realized something was wrong after discovering that she had the strength to move and instinctively stepped forward to hug Xue Linchuan, whose soul seemed to be dissipating, in an attempt to save him.

The city of the dead, shrouded in gray fog year-round, gradually began to show sparse green hues.

The arriving ghost messengers were dumbfounded and dared not step forward. None of them knew the origin of this greenish-blue spiritual energy. What if it was an indiscriminate attack?

They become ghost messengers to earn a living and escape the cycle of reincarnation, not to have their souls scattered.

Moreover, the greenish-blue spiritual energy is currently killing vengeful ghosts. Why would they risk their lives for these vengeful ghosts who should be punished and die?
