God Realm Beast Sealing House 6

God Realm Beast Sealing House 6

I slept very soundly.

Xie Guijin woke up to the sound of a servant knocking on the door. She opened her eyes and saw that the room was dark, and for a moment she did not know what day it was.

The servants respectfully invited Xie Guijin to get up and have dinner, only then did Xie Guijin realize that she was still on a mission.

With a sigh, Xie Guijin got up and went out, asking as she walked towards the dining room, "Is brother awake yet?"

"No, Miss."

"Oh, then there's no need to wake him. Let him sleep."

After the meal, Xie Guijin dismissed his servants and took a lantern to climb the Moon-Viewing Tower to look at the stars.

Her mood improved noticeably, and she spoke to the system, "Why are you in such a hurry? The conditions for completing this mission are lenient. Although the ferocious beast is outside, it won't harm any living beings within the mission's time limit. Shouldn't I take this opportunity to rest? Do I really have to rush to complete it? What if, because of the special nature of this mission, I'm instantly teleported to the next one upon completion? Who knows what the next mission will be, or if I'll even have time to rest?"

“Look,” Xie Guijin counted on her fingers for the system, “The first day of the Chef King Competition to lure the gluttons has been successfully completed. I haven’t heard of any trouble in any round. Just wait and see.”

Raising his second finger, Xie Guijin continued, "We just need to lure Qiongqi into the residential complex of kind-hearted people, and then we can persuade the government to let those simple and honest people move in."

"Tingfenglou has already gone to find those sycophants who like to spread rumors. Once those flatterers arrive at the manor, do you think Chaos won't appear?" Xie Guijin raised three fingers and waved them triumphantly.

"What about the Taotie? You didn't do anything, just waited for it to walk into your trap?" The system couldn't stand Xie Guijin's despicable behavior and said sarcastically, "You're so idle, I thought the four ferocious beasts were all trapped, but it turns out there's still one left."

“You’re right,” Xie Guijin changed her hand gesture to a thumbs-up, and said, “The glorious and arduous task of luring the Taotie is now entrusted to you. Good luck, I believe in you.”

"What?!" The system couldn't believe its ears.

"Tsk," Xie Guijin put down her thumb, braced her hands on the railing of Wangyue Tower, leaned out and looked down. The only light in the entire manor was from Lin Xing, which looked somewhat gloomy and terrifying at first glance.

She said ominously, "You don't think you can get away with such a big mistake without paying any price, do you? The compensation from the mainframe has nothing to do with you."

"Who says I haven't paid the price?" The system was emotional, tears streaming down its face: "They withheld a year's salary from me! I'm working for free now!"

"My host is disobedient, threatening me at the drop of a hat, silencing me at the drop of a hat, bullying me because I have no human rights. Is there any system more miserable than me?" The system was overwhelmed with grief and burst into tears.

Xie Guijin was in so much pain from its crying that she was dizzy and confused. She secretly turned off her microphone when it wasn't looking. When she saw that it was gradually stopping crying and calming down, she quickly turned her microphone back on, afraid of being discovered.

"Stop crying," Xie Guijin said guiltily, touching her nose. "How about you help me complete a quarter of the mission this time, and I'll negotiate with the mainframe to pay you a salary?"

"Okay then," the system hesitated for a long time before reluctantly agreeing.

Xie Guijin lost interest in stargazing and went downstairs, leaning on the teak railing with its geometric pattern.

"But the Taotie enjoys creating disasters and conflicts, taking pleasure in destroying harmony." The system suddenly exclaimed, "Do you expect me to build a peaceful paradise and sell it to lure it into doing evil?"

Xie Guijin slipped and quickly grabbed the railing, her hand aching from the sharp pain. She said in an unfriendly tone, "Why are you shouting like that! Think for yourself."

After saying that, she went back to her room in a huff.

When Xie Guijin woke up, it was already bright. After having breakfast, she went to see Xue Linchuan amidst the uneasy gazes of her servants.

Xue Linchuan's brows relaxed, and his posture was exactly the same as yesterday, without the slightest difference.

The servants outside were uneasy and peered inside.

Xie Guijin reached out and grasped Xue Linchuan's pulse point, using magic to carefully examine Xue Linchuan's entire body, but found nothing amiss.

She then had the system check, and there was nothing wrong with it.

"Miss, why don't I go back to the city and fetch a doctor? I know a few good doctors," the servant whispered through the door.

"No need," Xie Guijin coldly refused, offering no further explanation.

Explanation is something that subordinates need to do, while Xie Guijin plays the role of the superior.

She picked up a travelogue and sat down on the eaves outside the window to read.

These days, people value a view from every window. Outside the window, there is a clump of green bamboo. Sunlight shines through the bamboo leaves onto the pages of the book in Xie Guijin's hand, and the light spots sway in the wind, disturbing the view.

Xie Guijin didn't care.

......

When Xue Linchuan woke up, he turned his head, his eyes were glazed, and his consciousness slowly returned.

He sensed something, slowly got up, and walked quietly to the door, where he saw Xie Guijin looking down at a book not far away.

In an instant, it seemed as if only the two of them remained in the world.

"Oh, young master, you're awake?" A servant carried a black lacquered wooden tray with a freshly brewed cup of Longjing tea on it.

Xue Linchuan and Xie Guijin snapped out of their daze at the same time. Turning around, they saw a servant quickly step forward, first replacing the cold tea beside Xie Guijin, and then cheerfully saying, "Would the young master like to have a meal? Miss instructed the kitchen to keep the Poria cocos nourishing porridge warm."

Xue Linchuan turned to look at Xie Guijin before saying, "Bring it here."

The servant responded, took the leftover tea, and left.

Xue Linchuan looked at Xie Guijin's double doors and felt as if he understood Xie Guijin, just as he had just realized that Xie Guijin's mind was not on the book in her hand.

For example, when Xie Guijin first saw him, she wanted to ask, "Have you remembered anything?" But she was worried that this question would plunge him into pain again, so she swallowed her words.

Xue Linchuan took the initiative to say, "I'm sorry, I don't remember anything."

Xie Guijin was taken aback upon hearing this, then smiled and said, "It's alright. I suppose you'll only be able to remember once your soul is fully restored. Although Erlang Shen said that the immortals here can't help you repair your soul, I was thinking that if we have time after completing the mission, we can go and seek an audience with Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun, Huanghua Dangxing Tianzun, and Zhuling Duming Tianzun. If that doesn't work, we can try to see if the three Heavenly Venerables of the Three Pure Ones can help."

Xue Linchuan felt the chances were slim, but still nodded in agreement.

He glanced at the sun, considered the servants' behavior and the lack of any signs of a doctor's presence, and deduced, "I'm sorry, I slept for a whole day and night, which delayed my mission."

Xie Guijin took two steps forward. Without the bamboo grove to block her view, she stood in the sunlight, which seemed to coat her with a holy glow.

“Nothing has been delayed. There shouldn’t be any results from Cixi Town yet. Tingfeng Tower will send the person over at 2:45 PM as agreed. The Chef King Competition will proceed as scheduled,” Xie Guijin raised her head slightly and smiled reassuringly. “As for Taotie, the system will handle it personally, so you and I don’t need to worry about it. Today, all we need to do is meet those sycophants.”

Xue Linchuan knew that Xie Guijin wasn't telling the truth, and he should have gone to Cixi Town that morning. Xie Guijin was probably worried about him, which was why she was staying by his side.

However, Xue Linchuan was not a pretentious person. He appreciated Xie Guijin's good intentions and saw no need to make a fuss about it.

In the afternoon, the head of the Listening Rain Pavilion, who was in charge of the Tracing Pavilion, personally brought the person over.

Xie Guijin did not see her, but only had a servant send her away.

All the people brought by the Pavilion Master stayed behind.

The selection was excellent; each of them was handsome, with a refined appearance, eloquent, and well-versed in classical Chinese literature. Their praise was elegant and never blunt or vulgar.

This person said, "The young lady's demeanor is as refined as a breeze in the woods, truly the bearing of a renowned scholar."

“Miss possesses the virtues of orchids and irises, and is also a poet of great talent; I admire her greatly,” the man said.

Another person, holding a folding fan, waved his hand and said, "Miss's words and laughter are profound and majestic, we are all inferior to her."

......

Praises were endless.

If Xie Guijin is truly the young lady that the Marquis of Duanjin's mansion wants to hear praise, she will surely appreciate it.

But Xie Guijin was different; she was just an ordinary modern person who couldn't even name all the books in the classics.

These erudite praises are simply well-received, yet their brilliance remains unknown.

It's like casting pearls before swine.

However, the protagonist is not Xie Guijin, but Chaos, who enjoys listening to slander.

Xie Guijin thought to herself, "When Chaos was sealed, many historical allusions had not yet emerged. I wonder if it couldn't understand these flattering words?"

Xie Guijin then gave everyone a reward and ordered those who wished to stay to reside temporarily at the villa.

He then sent someone to Tingfeng Tower with money and a message: "The people who come are all the same; let's find some different ones."

Upon hearing this, the Pavilion Master couldn't help but say, "Does this young lady from the Marquis's mansion not like subtlety and instead want to hear some blatant flattery? Her taste is truly peculiar, unlike the demeanor of a lady from a prominent family."

"Stop talking nonsense! How dare you and I discuss the young lady of the Marquis's mansion?" Master Tingfeng shouted sternly, "Find more people to send her over."

The sycophantic interview finally ended near dusk.

After dismissing everyone, Xue Linchuan said, "Why don't we go to Cixi Town now?"

"The sunset is infinitely beautiful, but it's only a short time before dusk," Xie Guijin sighed as she gazed at the setting sun after listening to two hours of overly sophisticated compliments. Then she continued, "Don't go. The government offices have already closed for the day. I hate it when people make me work overtime. I don't want to be the person I hate the most."

“Okay,” Xue Linchuan didn’t insist. He thought that going tomorrow morning should be fine.

A servant brought over dinner, and as the two ate, Xie Guijin recounted in detail everything that happened after Xue Linchuan fainted, especially how she used coercion and enticement to deal with Taotie at Wangyue Tower.

Xue Linchuan keenly grasped the key point. His Adam's apple bobbed, and his fingertips rubbed the hem of his clothes as he said expectantly, "You didn't get to see the stars and moon last night, so why don't we go to the Moon Gazing Tower together today?"

Xie Guijin has not yet responded.

The system laughed so hard it crowed, "Host, he's so innocent, so old-fashioned."

"One night and one day, have you figured out how to lure the Taotie?" Xie Guijin's move was fatal.

"What's it to you?" the system snapped, shouting, "It's still early, I... I'm sure I can figure it out."

Without hesitation, Xie Guijin muted her microphone with one click on the system, then slightly raised her chin to meet Xue Linchuan's focused gaze and said, "I don't want to look at the stars or the moon. Can you go to the back mountain and fight me?"
