The Sealed Beasts of the Divine Realm, House 16
Xie Guijin and Xue Linchuan were not giving up, so they searched the entire manor again, but they found no trace of the array being activated, nor any clues of Chaos hiding in the manor.
Xue Linchuan quickly reassured him, "Don't panic, there are still a few hours left."
"I was too arrogant," Xie Guijin said dejectedly, her expression somber.
But before Xue Linchuan could offer any further comfort...
Xie Guijin had already rallied and waved her hand, saying, "Let's go ask those sycophants in the manor what happened these past two days; perhaps they'll find some clues."
The two transformed once again into the siblings of the Marquis of Duanjin's manor and appeared outside the villa, leading horses as if they had just returned.
The servants hurriedly came forward to greet them.
Upon seeing the servants, the system suddenly remembered that before they left, Xie Guijin had ordered those who were good at slandering to compete.
The system was curious about this, so it said to Xie Guijin, "Why don't you ask when the competition results will be?"
Xie Guijin asked casually, "Who won the prize that day? I haven't been back for two days, and the prize hasn't been given yet. Is that person getting impatient?"
"No, no," the servant reported to Xie Guijin with a gossipy glint in his eyes, "It's because of that young master surnamed Hun. He's not in a hurry for a reward. Ever since he got first place, everyone else has been praising him every day. I think he doesn't even know his own name anymore and doesn't remember anything about the reward."
Xie Guijin suddenly stopped.
The servant nearly bumped into her, realizing he had said something wrong, and hurriedly asked, "Miss?"
"You said his surname is Hun?" Xie Guijin frowned and asked, "Where in the world is there such a surname? Are you sure you've asked?"
The servant hurriedly explained, "He himself said that his surname was Hun and that he was a foreign race from the western Tianshan Mountains."
"West Mountain and Tianshan?" Xie Guijin repeated.
Xue Linchuan whispered to Xie Guijin, "According to the *Classic of Mountains and Seas*, 'There is a god in the Heavenly Mountains, whose shape is like a yellow sack, red as cinnabar fire, with six feet and four wings, a chaotic mass without a face, yet it knows how to sing and dance.'"
Upon hearing this, Xie Guijin tilted her head slightly and met Xue Linchuan's gaze.
Xue Linchuan nodded to Xie Guijin and said, "Go ahead, don't worry."
Xie Guijin turned to the servant and instructed, "Tell him to go to the flower hall to receive his reward. The others don't need to come."
The servant, without suspicion, obeyed and left.
Xie Guijin and Xue Linchuan also parted ways.
Xie Guijin went to the flower hall and had only been there a short while.
The servant then led one person in.
The person looked rather strange. Each of his facial features, limbs, and other body parts was beautiful on their own, but when put together, they looked very incongruous, as if they had been forcibly assembled.
Xie Guijin felt much relieved; she was certain she hadn't seen anyone who looked like that before she left.
The servants, however, did not notice anything amiss.
Xie Guijin waved for the servants to leave, and smiled at the strange man who resembled Chaos, saying, "I wonder what you said that day? How could you overpower everyone else?"
The strange man, who had initially seemed unhappy, immediately became animated upon hearing this and began to recount in detail to Xie Guijin how he had debated with the scholars and defeated them all.
Xie Guijin listened intently, occasionally offering a word of praise. She slowly approached and, when she heard something she liked, patted the man's right shoulder and said, "You're really good at this, you know how to talk. No wonder all those people are better than you."
The man showed no modesty whatsoever, grinning and squinting his eyes as he nodded in acceptance.
Xie Guijin went around behind him, put her arm around his left shoulder, and said with a little force, "As expected of Chaos who likes to listen to slander, it seems that he has learned everything that others say."
The man froze for a moment, then tried to dart backward, but Xie Guijin held him back tightly.
"Don't rush off," Xie Guijin said with a grin. "I have another question for you. You were such a handsome young man before, how come you've turned into this grotesque mess? Aren't you afraid of being discovered?"
The man's murderous aura surged, blasting Xie Guijin away.
Xie Guijin was thrown backward involuntarily and crashed into a pillar in the flower hall.
She lay on the ground, struggling to sit up. She coughed up blood, wiped her mouth with the back of her hand without a care, and looked up to see that the person had turned into a yellow skin, the color of which was as red as a burning flame. Six legs and four wings grew from the skin, but it had no face or eyes.
“Ahem,” Xie Guijin stood up and said, “It really is you, Chaos.”
The chaotic six-legged creature landed, cracking the blue bricks. It then leaped up rapidly, heading straight for Xie Guijin's face.
Xie Guijin spun around to avoid it, and then threw out seven bronze nails, which were driven into the head of the Chaos Faceless.
Chaos paused, and the faceless head twisted and cracked. In pain, it swung its six claws, tearing apart the brocade screens placed around the flower hall. Its four wings stirred up a bloody wind, and the tables and chairs in the flower hall flew up and crashed towards Xie Guijin.
Xie Guijin flew away, her hands forming a magic seal, causing the tables and chairs to collide and explode.
Chaos hovered in mid-air, lunging towards Xie Guijin.
Xie Guijin broke through the roof of the flower hall, chanting an incantation. The four corners of the flower hall shimmered with light, and seven-colored array patterns appeared on the ground, trapping Chaos in the center.
Chaos roared, its six legs simultaneously digging into the array patterns.
Xie Guijin quickly chanted an incantation, activating the manor's magic array, and the chaos was bound by several golden rays.
Chaos churned and struggled, and the carved wooden windows of the flower hall were shattered by the air currents stirred up by the chaos.
The golden light suddenly thinned, unable to control the chaos, and could only release it, transforming into four walls of light to temporarily trap the chaos.
Xie Guijin was shocked: "How could this be? You've become stronger."
Chaos ignored everything and crashed its entire body into the light wall. It only targeted one spot, and soon cracks appeared at that spot, causing the entire light wall to teeter on the brink of collapse.
Xie Guijin no longer hesitated, bit her right finger, and shouted at the chaos: "Break!"
The blood split into two streams from Xie Guijin's fingertips, connecting into two lines on the left and right shoulders of the chaos.
A bright red character burst forth from Chaos's left and right shoulders.
It was the talisman paper written with cinnabar mixed with her blood essence that Xie Guijin had secretly inserted into Chaos's shoulders just now.
The characters on the left are inscribed with calendar rules, and the characters on the right are inscribed with laws.
The two characters multiplied into countless others, covering the entire body of Chaos.
Because it was stained with the blood and flesh of chaos, it could not break free.
Taking advantage of the moment when Chaos was freeing itself from the characters, Xie Guijin seized the opportunity and fired seven bronze nails, driving them into the faceless head of Chaos.
Chaos, in pain, struggled even more fiercely.
Xie Guijin asked it to circle around, looking for an opportunity to drive in bronze nails.
On the seventh strike, Chaos's seven orifices were pierced, and he collapsed to the ground with a thud.
The characters will drown it out.
Xie Guijin used hand seals to repair the magic array, completely sealing away the chaos.
Then he dismissed everyone from the mountain villa on the spot.
Although everyone was puzzled, with generous severance pay in hand, none of them asked any further questions and they all left.
Fearing unforeseen changes, Xie Guijin and his companion, along with the sealed Chaos, Qiongqi, Taotie, and other ferocious beasts, rushed to the Judicial God Temple at the mouth of the Guanjiang River to ask Erlang Zhenjun to reinforce the seal and temporarily guard it until the original goddess returned the next day.
Erlang Zhenjun is certainly not incapable.
The two thanked each other sincerely, but they had just stepped out of the room when they encountered Wu Long, the Broken Star Lord.
Xie Guijin felt a chill run up her spine; she hadn't forgotten Wu Long's cold face that day.
She feared that since the ferocious beast had been sealed away, Xue Linchuan would have no reason to act with her anymore. What if Wu Long used the excuse that Xue Linchuan was a divine general of the Temple of Justice to keep him here?
Although she could ask Erlang Shen for help, she felt embarrassed to ask for help for such a small matter, since Erlang Shen had already helped her a lot.
Unexpectedly, Wu Long pointed at Xue Linchuan and said, "You're leaving after completing your mission, right? Remember, he has to return here before you leave, and wait for the original divine general to come back so he can take orders directly."
Xie Guijin's mind went blank for a moment, then she angrily said to the system, "We are now an open secret in the Six Realms. Everyone can see through us. What kind of garbage are you? Trash system."
The system hesitated, not daring to answer.
Xie Guijin cursed several times before she stopped.
Wu Long raised an eyebrow and said, "Aren't we supposed to be visiting all sorts of deities? Why aren't we leaving yet?"
Upon hearing this, Xie Guijin felt there was a chance, and her heart filled with boundless hope as she asked, "Do you think they can cure him?"
“No way,” Wu Long spread his hands innocently, “but even if I don’t let you go, you won’t give up. Sigh, that’s how people are, they won’t turn back until they hit a wall.”
Xie Guijin bit her lip, her lips twitching, and said, "Thank you for your guidance, Star Lord. Farewell."
Wu Long smiled and waved his hand, saying, "I dare not accept such praise."
Xie Guijin ignored his ugly face and dragged Xue Linchuan on a journey to seek medical treatment.
Xie Guijin was originally worried that those powerful figures would not see the two of them, or that the time was too short to ask to see them all. Unexpectedly, everything went very smoothly, and they were able to see every single one of the powerful figures.
Unfortunately, the six most powerful beings in the divine realm who were most likely to heal Xue Linchuan—Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun, Huanghua Dangxing Tianzun, Zhuling Duming Tianzun, Yuqing Yuanshi Tianzun, Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun, and Taiqing Daode Tianzun—all said, "Heavenly secrets cannot be revealed; the one who tied the knot must untie it."
After working hard for half a day, I got nothing.
Xie Guijin was very sad.
Xue Linchuan held Xie Guijin's hand and comforted her, "My amnesia is probably for a reason. I guess it will get better after I accompany you to complete the Six Realms mission. Don't worry too much."
"This is just our guess, it may not be true," Xie Guijin said dejectedly.
Xue Linchuan smiled and patted Xie Guijin's hair, saying, "It's almost time for us to leave, and there's no time to cook now. I wonder if we'll be able to enter the God Realm again. Why don't we go to the Lieshan God Domain to thank Shennong?"
“You’re right,” Xie Guijin nodded.
The two then went to the Divine Realm of Lieshan, sincerely thanked Emperor Shennong, and returned to the Temple of Justice to await the next mission.
Wu Long rushed over upon hearing the news.
Xie Guijin slumped to the ground, completely losing her composure, and lazily said, "Are you here to laugh at us?"
"If the goddess knew you were ruining her body like this, she would be furious," Wu Long shook his head, disagreeing.
"Tch," Xie Guijin scoffed, "The goddess isn't that petty. Tell me, what are you doing here? We're leaving soon."
"I'm just curious how you manage to travel between different worlds and possess other people."
"Oh, I don't know either, just wait and see." Xie Guijin looked at the stars and swung her legs.
Wu Long couldn't bear to look at him and turned to leave.
"Hey, don't go!" Xie Guijin hurriedly called out, "May I ask the Broken Star Lord, why is it that the formation I set up has not worked even though Chaos has entered the manor? Why has it suddenly become more powerful?"
