Chapter 113 Ouroboros Dream Crisis

Chapter 113 Ouroboros Dream Crisis

Zhou Jiming wasn't the only one who thought this way; the others felt the same way.

Especially Wen Yanqing, when she saw that the women here could go out just like the men, their eyes full of confidence, she knew that the women here were free.

It would be a lie to say she wasn't envious. She didn't know if Shao Yanzhe's dream world really existed, but she believed that perhaps in some other world, those women lived just like the people here.

At this moment, she truly envied Shao Yanzhe, envying that he had seen such a world or lived in such a world.

Shao Yanzhe had already completed his medical consultation and did not pick up any medicine this time. He then took Xuan Yao and left the hospital.

Zhou Jiming and the others followed immediately, exchanging a glance with the ouroboros before leaving.

The ouroboros noticed their gazes, smiled slightly, and revealed a determined look in its eyes.

The two sides parted ways almost immediately, knowing that now was not the time to confront each other.

Zhou Jiming and the others followed Shao Yanzhe, watching him drive around the city, and they saw many sights they had never seen before.

On the huge electronic screen, a man and a woman dressed in black suits were talking about things that were very incomprehensible to them.

Countless hovercars drive past the towering skyscrapers.

The scenes unfolded before their eyes, causing them to widen their gazes in astonishment.

As time passed, Shao Yanzhe drove them around and around.

Zhou Jiming and the others gradually realized that something was wrong.

"Brother Shao, you've probably gone around six times already, haven't you? What's he trying to do? Isn't this a bit too many laps if he's just trying to relax?" Zhou Jiming asked.

Wen Yanqing sat next to Shao Yanzhe the whole time, observing his expression and actions from time to time.

She frowned and said, "Brother Shao, it seems you're looking for something."

"What are you looking for?"

"It must be something extremely important to him!"

Zhou Jiming and the others knew nothing about Shao Yanzhe's past. They couldn't figure it out no matter how hard they tried, so they went around in circles in the city with Shao Yanzhe.

Soon, Shao Yanzhe parked the car on the side of the road.

This is the same road he took when he was first discharged from the hospital.

On the right side of this road is a steel city, and on the left is the sea, its surface jagged by the sea breeze.

Shao Yanzhe stood at the boundary between the two, as if he were standing between two worlds.

He looked out to sea and saw the fiery sun slowly sinking into the ocean, its red spots shimmering on the rugged surface—a truly magnificent sight.

"Meow!" Xuan Yao stopped at Shao Yanzhe's feet, squatted down, and looked at the sea with him.

Zhou Jiming and the others did the same; watching the rare sunset over the sea, they temporarily put aside their worries.

After a brief moment of warmth, Shao Yanzhe scooped up Xuan Yao from beside his feet, held him in his arms, and continued to stare at the sea.

"Do you think this world is really real?"

His words startled Zhou Jiming and the others who were admiring the sunset, bringing them back to their senses.

What does Shao Yanzhe mean by this?

Could it be that their actions over the past few days have finally yielded results?

Has Shao Yanzhe begun to believe that this world is an illusion?

Their minds were racing, but everyone's attention was focused on him.

"Meow?" Xuan Yao tilted his head and looked at Shao Yanzhe in confusion.

Soon, Shao Yanzhe chuckled softly.

"Okay, I shouldn't have asked you. Well, actually I just wanted to talk to someone about my thoughts, but I don't seem to have any friends."

As Shao Yanzhe spoke, images of several people flashed through his mind, their faces exactly the same as those in the hallucinations he had seen before.

He paused for a moment, a thoughtful look flashing in his eyes.

After a long while, he took a deep breath, picked up Xuan Yao, got into the car, and drove towards the residential area.

It was getting late, and he was starving. He couldn't help but think of his favorite roadside stall.

He glanced at the time subconsciously and realized it was Saturday, the day the stall was closed.

He couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that he wouldn't be able to eat his favorite food today.

Unexpectedly, when the car arrived at the entrance of the residential area, he saw the roadside stall he had been longing for in the distance.

Shao Yanzhe was overjoyed. He quickly stopped the car, got out, and blurted out his favorite food, afraid that if he was even a second late, the stall would be closing up shop.

Only after he had collected his own food did he happily drive towards the underground parking garage.

The roadside stall owner, holding his seasonings, looked bewildered. Wasn't he supposed to be resting today? Why was he here?

"Strange? Could it be that I've become obsessed with work lately? I feel uneasy if I don't go to work for a day, and I even accidentally came to work on my day off!"

The boss muttered to himself, then his body shuddered, and he suddenly became alert.

"Just kidding! I'm not addicted to working! Nobody can stop me from resting today!"

The shop owner muttered to himself, quickly packed up his stall, got on his bike, and sped away.

The office workers who were still working on Saturday reached out their hands, their expressions of surprise and delight at seeing the boss setting up his stall instantly turning to stone.

Completely unaware of all this, Shao Yanzhe stopped the car and turned off the engine. Just as he was about to get out, he seemed to catch a glimpse of a white figure out of the corner of his eye.

His heart skipped a beat and then began to pound.

At that moment, he inexplicably recalled the first time he saw something unscientific—a pale-faced white figure with blood flowing from its seven orifices pressed against the car window in the garage.

He gripped the key tightly, unsure how to react for a moment.

"It's all an illusion! It's all an illusion!"

Shao Yanzhe silently recited this in his heart.

Xuan Yao, standing to the side, seemed to sense a yin energy, whose strength was not inferior and was comparable to his.

He glanced at Shao Yanzhe, speechless. Why was this guy still causing all sorts of ghosts and monsters in the dream world even though he had amnesia?

Sitting in the back of the car, Wen Yanqing raised her hand and tapped on the roof to remind the people upstairs.

The three people sitting on the roof of the car, Su Yuheng, Shen Jingzhou, and Chen Yunhe, were alerted and looked warily at the white figure standing in the shadows, ready to help at any time.

Shao Yanzhe is now an ordinary person and has no recollection of being able to use his literary energy to fight ghosts and monsters. Therefore, in this dream, they must protect him!

Just thinking about this made them excited.

In the real world, those ghosts and monsters are very powerful, and they have no choice but to rely on Shao Yanzhe for protection.

But in this dream world, their positions relative to Shao Yanzhe were reversed, which stirred up boundless pride in them.

It's finally their turn to protect Brother Shao!

Inside the car, Shao Yanzhe finally mentally prepared himself. He took a deep breath, smelled the aroma of the food in his hand, and felt Xuan Yao's warm body in his arms. His rapidly beating heart finally calmed down.

He opened the car door and got out, looking straight ahead as if he hadn't seen anything, and walked straight to the elevator.

The white figure followed him at a leisurely pace, and he seemed to hear rustling sounds from time to time.

Shao Yanzhe chose to ignore it, standing in front of the elevator door, staring at the tightly closed safety door, praying that the elevator would come down quickly. But the elevator was on the top floor, and it would take at least two minutes to come down.

Suddenly, he noticed a white figure standing beside him.

At the same time, he could clearly feel his arm getting cold, and goosebumps involuntarily rose on his skin.

The already low temperature in the underground parking garage suddenly dropped, and the icy cold penetrated his shirt and went straight into his skin. It was as if he wasn't in the garage at that moment, but in a freezer.

"Can you see me?" A woman's voice whispered in his ear.

Shao Yanzhe pretended not to hear, but his hand tightened around the plastic bag. He continued to silently repeat to himself, 'This is all an illusion! This is all fake!'

The owner of the voice noticed a subtle difference in him; those dark, hollow eyes stared intently at him as he slowly bent down to get closer.

Shao Yanzhe felt a weight on his shoulder. Through the mirror-like elevator safety door in front of him, he could clearly see that the white figure that had been standing next to him was now clinging to him, her head resting on his shoulder, staring at him sideways.

His body suddenly stiffened.

Was this really his hallucination?

He couldn't help but have doubts.

He could feel that his body had indeed become heavier, and he could also feel that the air temperature around him had dropped; these things could not be explained by hallucinations.

It was at this moment that the head on his shoulder got closer and closer to Shao Yanzhe's cheek. He could clearly see that the tongue sticking out of the head's mouth was getting longer and longer, and the slender tip of the tongue was about to lick his face.

Seeing this scene, he could no longer remain calm.

He immediately turned his head to dodge, then reached out and grabbed the woman's arm, slamming her heavily to the ground.

"Ah!"

The woman in white couldn't help but let out a painful wail.

She never imagined that this human could touch her and even harm her.

"I never expected Brother Shao to be so amazing even in his amnesiac state!" Zhou Jiming exclaimed in admiration.

"Alright, stop watching. Brother Shao is no match for this ghost right now," Wen Yanqing said.

"No problem! Watch me!"

As Zhou Jiming spoke, just as the woman in white was about to attack Shao Yanzhe in a fit of rage, he revealed himself and appeared in the same dimensional world as the human and the ghost. He then threw the fan in his hand at the woman in white.

This fan is the only thing he can bring into his dreams, and it can be considered his protective treasure.

"Hmph! I can't handle that snake, but I'll be more than capable of dealing with you!" he said smugly, hands on his hips.

The fan struck the woman in white squarely, and then suddenly burst forth with a white light.

"Ah!" The woman in white let out another miserable scream, and her originally solid figure became transparent.

She glared fiercely at Zhou Jiming, but fearing that he might have other things that could harm her, she didn't attack him. Instead, she reached out her sharp-nailed fingers and stabbed them straight into Shao Yanzhe's chest.
