Chapter 115 Ouroboros Dream Isn't Sick
Shao Yanzhe stared intently at his phone screen, his eyes filled with surprise and uncertainty.
He stared at his phone. Two minutes passed, but the time on it remained unchanged, as if the clock was broken.
How is that possible!
This is a mobile phone, not a watch!
He looked away for a moment, then looked back at his phone and noticed that the time on the screen had changed; it had moved forward by half an hour.
Looking at the time on his phone, Shao Yanzhe realized that something was really wrong.
He chuckled softly, pressed his finger on the phone's button, and the screen instantly went black, reflecting his face.
He stood up, put his phone in his pocket, and looked down at Xuan Yao beside him.
"I need to go out for a bit. Are you going to wait for me at home, or come with me?"
He preferred to stay at home, since his injuries hadn't fully healed.
Upon hearing this, Xuan Yao stood up from the sofa, stretched, and then jumped down to Shao Yanzhe's side, his meaning quite clear.
"Okay, you can come with me, but you have to wait for me in the car. You absolutely cannot come into the hospital with me, understand?"
"Meow!" Xuan Yao meowed very obediently, as if the cat that had secretly followed him into the hospital several times before was not him.
Shao Yanzhe smiled, reached out and patted his fluffy head before taking him to the hospital.
He slowly walked into the hospital, his eyes scanning the surroundings. Only then did he realize that there weren't many people there, and the place was sparsely populated, lacking the grandeur of a top-tier hospital.
How come he didn't notice this anomaly before?
He found an empty window to register, his gaze sweeping over a display board not far away, on which only a doctor's information was displayed.
His dark eyes stared intently at the doctor's photo, he grinned, and gently tapped it with his finger.
"It's you!"
He walked slowly toward the doctor's office. Along the way, he noticed more inconsistencies. Apart from the doctor he had registered with, all the other offices were dark, and the patients were just sitting blankly in their chairs. There was no sound of numbers being called in the lobby, and he could hear nothing but his footsteps.
He pushed open the door to the doctor's office and walked in, accompanied by his own footsteps.
"Doctor, hello, I'm here." Shao Yanzhe looked up at the person sitting in front of the computer and said.
The doctor was dressed in white as always, wearing a blue mask and gold-rimmed glasses. At first glance, he looked no different from the doctors at the hospital in his memory.
"You're here? Please have a seat. How have you been feeling lately?" the doctor asked, putting down the medical record in his hand.
"It's alright," Shao Yanzhe replied.
"That's good. This is the medicine I told you about on the phone. It's quite effective in treating your symptoms. You can take it home and take it for a while. I'm sure you'll see results soon."
As the doctor spoke, he took out a small medicine bottle from the drawer. The bottle was not large, and through its semi-transparent body, he could see that it was filled with four-fifths of small purple pills.
Shao Yanzhe glanced at the doctor and saw his urgency in his movements, tone of voice, and eyes.
He focused his gaze on the small medicine bottle in the doctor's hand, wondering what the doctor had tampered with inside.
He didn't refuse, took it from the doctor, and put it in his pocket without looking at it closely in front of him. He exchanged a few pleasantries with the doctor and then walked towards the door.
When he reached the hospital entrance, he stopped, and the slight smile on his face vanished without a trace.
He looked up toward the doctor's office. The person from before hadn't lied to him; the doctor really wasn't human.
Before he left the consultation room, he saw the doctor's eyes through the glass. They were not round human pupils, but vertical pupils like those of a wild beast.
Shao Yanzhe withdrew his gaze and got into the car. He saw the black cat lazily lying on the back seat. The dazzling sunlight shone in through the crack in the rear window and fell directly on his undulating belly, making the black cat faintly appear dark red.
Seemingly sensing his gaze, the black cat raised its head, opened its cat eyes, and looked ahead.
"Meow!" he called softly.
When Shao Yanzhe met his pair of heterochromatic golden and black eyes, in an instant, he saw that the black cat's pupils had also turned into vertical pupils.
However, they are much prettier than that doctor's eyes.
That's what he thought.
He reached out and ruffled the black cat's head, then abruptly asked, "Do you know that person who suddenly appeared before?"
The black cat stiffened, looked up at him, and stared at him with its heterochromatic golden and black eyes, as if it were sizing him up.
Seeing his behavior, Shao Yanzhe realized that this black cat knew the people who had appeared in front of him and whom he had thought were hallucinations.
"Do you know where they are now?" he asked.
After hearing this, Xuan Yao withdrew his scrutinizing gaze. He had thought the two-legged beast had remembered something, but now it seemed he had been overthinking it.
Upon hearing his question, the man with the golden and black heterochromatic eyes looked to the side.
Shao Yanzhe followed his gaze to the seat next to him, which was empty and there was no trace of anything there.
However, considering how elusive those people are, he guessed that they were probably really here, but he just couldn't see them.
"Can they hear me?" Shao Yanzhe asked curiously.
“Meow!” Xuan Yao nodded affirmatively.
Shao Yanzhe smiled, then, as if remembering something, asked, "Can doctors see them too?"
Xuan Yao was stunned for a moment, not understanding how the two-legged creature knew that the doctor could also see.
He quickly realized that the two-legged creature had sensed something was wrong with the doctor!
He quickly stood up and nodded rapidly at the two-legged creature.
"Two-legged beast! That doctor is a wicked snake! He wants to harm you!"
Hearing the black cat's continuous meows and his excited expression, Shao Yanzhe couldn't help but find it a little funny.
"Okay, I understand. That doctor isn't a good person. Don't get so worked up."
He soothed the black cat and began to think.
Since the doctor can see those people, but he lies to himself and says that they are all hallucinations, then the two sides must be in an adversarial relationship.
So, he's not sick?!
Shao Yanzhe immediately laughed. He had said that someone as cheerful as him could not possibly have a mental illness; he had simply seen things that ordinary people could not see.
Once he understood all this, the weight on his heart finally lifted.
The doctor was an enemy of these people, and they had even risked their lives to save him. Based on that alone, he was more inclined to side with Black Cat and his group.
"Did I know you before?" he asked.
Xuan Yao nodded firmly: "Meow!"
Shao Yanzhe guessed, "Are we very close?"
"Meow!" Xuan Yao nodded again.
"In other words, there are some problems with my memory."
"Meow!"
Shao Yanzhe got the answer he wanted. He sat in the car, frowning and trying hard to recall, but he couldn't find anything wrong with his memory.
Apart from his memories before the age of three, he could recall past events and found no logical errors.
He sighed, reached into his pocket, took out a small medicine bottle, and examined it in front of him.
Sunlight streamed in through the windshield, and he placed the small medicine bottle in the sunlight, bringing it closer for a careful examination.
He then saw that in those empty spaces, tiny purple dust particles floated, dancing freely up and down, looking quite beautiful.
etc!
Shao Yanzhe's eyes widened in surprise. If he wasn't mistaken, the purple dust seemed to be moving on its own.
He moved closer again, staring intently at the purple dust, and discovered that the dust was actually alive!
They climbed on the walls of the small medicine bottle like tiny insects, then leaped into the air, looking as if they were playing.
"What is this?!"
The thought of the doctor wanting him to eat these things made Shao Yanzhe's face turn pale.
Xuan Yao noticed it, so he moved from the back seat to the front seat, supporting his body with his forelimbs, and also approached the small medicine bottle.
"Meow!"
Upon seeing what was inside, he looked disgusted and quickly backed away, accidentally falling off his seat. He then hurriedly and clumsily returned to his seat.
Shao Yanzhe was amused by his appearance, and the heavy feeling in his heart subsided considerably.
He placed the small medicine bottle under the car window and began to think about what to do next.
The first thing to do is to find a way to restore his memory.
Secondly, ...
There is no second chance; everything will become clear once he regains his memory.
Shao Yanzhe recalled the reasons for his previous headaches and quickly came up with a solution.
Thinking back, the headache I had earlier was because those thoughts triggered sealed memories.
What was he thinking at that time?
He thought about it carefully and quickly came up with an idea.
Is this world real or fake?
He began to speak.
"If that's true, why does this world seem to be pieced together from countless other worlds?"
He glanced at the sky, opened the car door and got out, looking at the huge cube-shaped building floating in the sky.
He tried hard to recall, searching through his memories, and after a while he finally found the memory of this building. In the memory, he was sitting in a chair with a huge screen opposite him and seats neatly arranged around him. At that time, he was watching a movie.
As his memories were gradually unearthed, everything around him reappeared in his memory, except that most of them were things he had seen in movies or TV series, and some were things he had seen while scrolling through videos on his phone.
By this time, Shao Yanzhe was already suffering from a splitting headache, but he did not stop and continued instead.
Everything around him matched the memories in his mind. He grimaced in pain, but when he looked at the buildings around him that he found ridiculous, he burst into laughter.
That doctor must be an idiot. He doesn't know what the other doctor is trying to do, but when he creates this dream world according to his own memory, is he just following the images in his memory?
Thus, this creation was born, a mixture of ancient, modern, contemporary, and future elements, a patchwork of reality, anime, and special effects. In Shao Yanzhe's eyes, who had regained most of his memories, it was truly laughable.
He touched his throbbing forehead, gritted his teeth, and tried to find something amiss in this world, becoming increasingly suspicious of its authenticity.
Bang! A huge snake descended and landed squarely on the roof of Shao Yanzhe's car.
Fortunately, Xuan Yao and Zhou Jiming had gotten out of the car earlier and didn't crash into the ditch along with it.
"Hmph! Damn it! Are you all so eager to die?"
As he spoke, his tail slammed repeatedly against the car below, which had already turned to smithereens, in a fit of rage.
He never expected that his plan would be ruined again!
It was at this moment that Shao Yanzhe suddenly opened his eyes, and the missing memories in his mind returned.
