Chapter 101
Zhou Yuli woke up.
Under the dim light in the living room, two shadows were sitting on the sofa.
One of them frightened him, and the other was familiar to him.
Zhou Yuli lowered his head and found that the wound on his arm had been bandaged. These were not the stitches Sudi had shown him, but ordinary surgical suture needles.
"After using the special medicine, the wound will not leave scars."
One of the voices on the sofa said.
"Got it." Another voice said.
"Pei Zhao." Zhou Yuli spoke, calling out his name accurately.
"Don't call me." The voice was not as gentle as expected, but tired and unfamiliar, not even as good as when they first met. "Don't talk to me. I don't want to lose face for you outside."
Pei Zhao was very angry.
He had warned Zhou Yuli many times not to look for Sudi alone, but this man came to Sudi to do some damn puppet experiment.
"Go back." Pei Zhao's temples were throbbing, and he showed no mercy.
God knows, after Lan Ji told him, his legs were weak when he ran over. When Sudi opened the door and saw Zhou Yuli lying there twitching with needles and stitches on his body, he was going crazy...
"It's just a joke. It's not even as scary as the lightest scar from last time." Sudi said.
How can this be the same.
Pei Zhao was too lazy to argue with Sudi. This guy has been crazy for a long time. If they didn't have to work together, Pei Zhao really hoped to cut off all ties with him.
"Don't be like this, Pei Zhao, aren't we friends?" Sudi curled the corners of his mouth.
"It's okay to hurt me, but you can't touch him." Pei Zhao's face was full of fatigue, "Otherwise we may not be friends, not even colleagues."
Sudi chuckled. The threat from a college student sounded so childish.
"Okay, I apologize, but this is always for your good. Isn't proven love more precious?" Sudi spread out his hands, looking helpless.
"Sudi, when will you understand that love doesn't need to be argued?" Pei Zhao frowned, stood up, and walked towards the door. Zhou Yuli followed behind him. Pei Zhao said, "Love is something that cannot be argued. If you like someone, why do you have to argue something by hurting them? This is stupid."
Pei Zhao sighed, "Of course, it is even more stupid to not trust your own feelings and trust other people's argumentation methods."
Zhou Yuli, who was following behind, felt as if he was being scolded.
·
The bad news is that Pei Zhao knew about his deal with Sudi.
The good news is that Sudi did not tell Pei Zhao their true intentions.
Zhou Yuli was thinking about how to convince Pei Zhao not to be angry within a few hours.
But Pei Zhao's performance was beyond his expectations.
Pei Zhao didn't seem to want to listen to his explanation.
Pei Zhao just threw all of Zhou Yuli's things out of the room and onto the sofa in the shared living room, just like an ordinary couple quarreling.
In the living room, Bai Zhou and Lan Ji watched the scene helplessly. Zhou Yuli hugged his arm and covered the wound.
"Pei Zhao, please listen to my explanation..."
"Then trust others, but never trust me." Pei Zhao spoke coldly, reciting Zhou Yuli's crimes like reading a text, "We don't need to live together recently until you think it through."
The bedroom door closed. Zhou Yuli lowered his head, looking a little embarrassed.
"..." Bai Zhou walked to Zhou Yuli, "Why don't you tell Zhao Zhao that it was because Sudi forced you..."
"...I was wrong." Zhou Yuli shook his head, "...I don't want him to feel guilty."
Perhaps because of the pain, a deep feeling of fatigue enveloped Zhou Yuli's whole body.
He did something wrong, doing such things behind his lover's and other people's backs. If you put yourself in his shoes, if Pei Zhao did this, Zhou Yuli would probably be furious.
But when he returned to himself, Zhou Yuli felt sad again.
There seemed to be too many obstacles in their relationship.
A family that the parents do not look favorably upon. A species that Sudi is not optimistic about.
There are always problems of one kind or another standing between them, as if they are always entangled with problems.
And it just so happens that these are problems that he is unable to solve.
These problems were originally very small, but thinking about them day and night may have just gradually magnified them... Zhou Yuli comforted himself in this way, but to little effect.
He couldn't completely ignore it. Especially when these issues directly affected the relationship between him and Pei Zhao.
But wasn't he the one who caused their relationship to be affected?
Night fell quickly and the bedroom door was not opened again. Zhou Yuli was worried, but it was still inevitable that it was time to set off.
"Walk."
Pei Zhao opened the window, saw the firebird flying away, and clenched his phone.
Zhou Yuli...
"Boom boom boom." The door rang.
Pei Zhao pushed open the door, and not surprisingly, it was Sudi.
·
In order to destroy all public facilities in a short period of time, Zhou Yuli chose to create terrorist incidents in the city's green areas.
Vegetation that grows wildly overnight can easily cause panic.
Governments, banks, radio and television, even lighthouses.
It is difficult to protect a city, but it is easy to destroy a city and paralyze it.
By the time the police arrived at the scene, it was too late.
They held a meeting overnight to discuss solutions to the rampant growth of plants and vegetation. But the results were disappointing; no herbicide on the market could handle these troublesome plants.
The thick roots hung over the railway, making it difficult for people to move.
The paralysis of the railway fell within Lan Ji's scope of work, but Zhou Yuli's huge root system had to be placed in some open space.
Lan Ji's ice and snow plan was very successful. When the cold wind blew, a dense layer of ice emerged. It was a thin layer at first, which gave the running train enough time to repair.
With each subsequent period, the ice layer thickened. Until it is completely covered and traffic is completely unable to move.
As for blocking the route, Lan Ji spent some effort.
Those that had already taken off needed to be deterred by cumulonimbus clouds and blizzards, while those that had not yet taken off simply froze their vehicles.
Even outside the airport building, there is a thick layer of ice...
"Dear passengers, please note that the environment around the airport is bad. Please do not go out at will. Emergency supplies will be delivered to you later and you can rest on the spot."
Even the announcements were edited urgently by the flight attendants.
There was a shortage of spare supplies, but few complaints were made about the airport. The environment outside is so terrible that people don't know who to blame.
"Everywhere is frozen..."
“Is the world ending?”
“…”
More people discovered what they had posted on the Internet during the day, and for a while, the doomsday rumors caused panic among people.
So far, everything is going well.
The only thing that the three of them did not expect was the occurrence of violence.
In urban areas, especially trapped areas. There were many violent incidents.
"...Is it because of the disaster we caused?" Lan Ji's eyes showed reluctance and some disbelief. The content on the phone felt unfamiliar to it, especially those words like murder and rape.
Regardless of gender, they are uniformly referred to as "victims."
"Don't think too much." Bai Zhou pinched the back of Lan Ji's neck, "...We can't save everyone."
Zhou Yuli silently looked at the two people who were in a bad mood.
Feeling guilty inside.
He should have noticed this. Bai Zhou and Lan Ji don’t understand modern human nature, but he should understand.
But he hadn't made any contingency plans, and hadn't even considered it when planning.
How could you not consider it at all?
Zhou Yuli rubbed his fingers unconsciously.
This is the second time. After becoming a puppet, I always seem to subconsciously ignore something.
The plan needs to continue, and they cannot abandon it halfway because of a momentary hesitation.
So Bai Zhou could only simply comfort Lan Ji and then get on the bird again and fly to the highest point.
Fire rose from the sky, swirling from the clouds and circling over the city.
When we got to the point where people were looking, the still noisy crowd began to panic.
"What is that?"
“It’s real extreme weather…”
"The rumors about the end of the world are true!"
All of this was in line with Zhou Yuli and his team's ideas. Except for not anticipating the occurrence of violence, they almost achieved their goal.
"Zhao Zhao will definitely be happy." Bai Zhou said.
Within one night, both television and the Internet were competing to report the sudden outbreak of terrorist incidents.
Weird things are happening frequently around the world. The Earth is about to reach the end of its life and human civilization may be declared extinct.
A lot of speculation is going on.
Apart from them, probably only some puppeteers knew the truth.
It was already early morning when we returned to the puppet shop.
The sky gradually brightened, but the whole city was still frozen.
There wasn't even a delivery man on the road.
"It seems like the response is bigger than expected. Aren't people stockpiling?"
In the living room, Zhou Yuli looked at the bedroom door which was still closed. I heard Bai Zhou say casually.
"Humans react faster than you think. Just yesterday, they emptied all the supermarkets around here." Sudi leaned back on the sofa, and glanced at the three people leisurely. Finally, he raised his chin to Zhou Yuli, "Have you thought about how to explain it?"
explain. Can he explain it?
Zhou Yuli felt a bitter taste in his mouth. After a night of hard work without drinking a drop of water, the energy deficit was replenished, leaving me in a contradictory state of being both sleepy and awake.
"Pinocchio?" Sudi raised her foot. "Didn't you hear me?"
"Sorry." Zhou Yuli said, lowering his eyes to look at the small area on the ground in front of his feet, "I was distracted."
"You can't not pay attention. Your master looks angry."
Sudi's voice was full of temptation, and it really sounded like "something bad was going to happen."
Zhou Yuli couldn't help but shudder.
“…I will go and apologize…” He wanted to answer, but with a “click”, the door of the room was opened.
Zhou Yuli's throat suddenly became silent. Only the sound of heartbeat can be heard.
"Since you like listening to others so much, you might as well go with him." There was obvious fatigue in Pei Zhao's voice, but Zhou Yuli could no longer hear it. He straightened up, turned his head, and moved his lips as if he had not heard clearly.
"What did you say?"
Pei Zhao turned his head away and didn't look at Zhou Yuli's hurt expression. If you ask him to say such hurtful words again, he probably won't be able to do it.
But that night, he clearly realized that the problem between Zhou Yuli and himself might not be solved for a long time.
