Chapter 069 Bionic Man and Mechanic

Chapter 069 Bionic Man and Mechanic

During this period, Rong Le's life was very regular. In addition to reading professional books and raising small animals, he also did repairs for many residents from marginal areas who came here to visit.

Unlike the central city where most androids have decent jobs, almost half of the people in the peripheral areas are made up of androids.

Among them, more than 80% of the bionic dolls are ownerless. These bionic people are like weeds that no one cares about, growing wildly in the marginal areas.

Of course, their temperament is also rebellious.

"Hey, mechanic, why don't you just replace my arm with a good one? My forearm was nearly torn off during a fight yesterday. If it happens again, the boss will scold me."

On the operating table in the workshop, the young bionic man turned his head to look at Rong Le who was having his elbow repaired.

Because Rong Le had injected him with a reagent, the senses in his left arm were blocked and the pain was completely cut off, so he could watch the progress of the operation curiously.

Rong Le said calmly, "Because your arm itself is no longer working, the price of attaching the old arm and replacing it with a new one are two different prices."

The young man immediately shut up.

Rong Le calmly gazed at the bionic man's arm joints, meticulously repairing the blood vessels and meridians therein, and finally covering them with skin.

He stood up and turned off the headlights. "Okay, don't do strenuous exercise, don't use your left arm frequently... I've said these things many times, you know."

The young man responded with a smile.

Rong Le took out the bill with a half-smile, and the young man immediately looked bitter again, wanting to beg for mercy, but he already knew that the mechanics in this studio would not listen to any advice, so he paid obediently.

Rong Le warned: "It's better to avoid risks as much as possible, otherwise the money you earn won't be enough to cover the maintenance costs."

The young man sighed. Most bionic people have good looks. Even the most ordinary Type IV bionic people have a handsome appearance if you look closely. "I work hard, and all the money I earn is given to you, the boss and the maintenance engineer."

Gang fighting in marginal areas is very serious. The patients Rong Le has received recently are all injured in fights. Supplies are scarce and the order is chaotic here, so everyone has unanimously taken a tacit attitude towards the new medical resources.

When the bionic people are injured, they like to run to Rong Le, perhaps because they think that mechanics who have received education from higher education institutions are more authoritative and reliable.

Before leaving, the young man said with a smile, "By the way, when did you get a dog, mechanic?"

Rong Le gave him a puzzled look in return.

The young man said, "I heard that a while ago, some fools tried to rob the workshop, but were chased and bitten by the dogs inside. Their bite was so ferocious that even the black doctors said they couldn't cure them. Since then, everyone knows that maintenance technicians have pets to guard the house."

Rong Le smiled as if remembering something when she heard this: "It is true that I took in a little animal, but I think he is very well behaved."

His doting tone made the young man shudder involuntarily.

Is that level enough to be called good?

The mechanic is really scary.

Rong Le was in a good mood when he learned that the little animal had driven away the thief for him. He hummed a song while packing his things.

That night, chicken legs were added to the little animals' luxurious midnight snack.

On this day, Nika, who had just started her job, was wearing a cute maid dress and diligently cleaning the studio.

Rong Le, who had tacitly agreed to her job, suddenly decided to go shopping. When asked what she was going to buy, she jokingly said, "Probably a doll."

Ordinary Type IV bionic dolls are still very common and can be purchased in supermarkets. Most mechanics buy these dolls to use them for anatomical research, which is a very common use.

In fact, this is legal. Those Type IV dolls are taciturn and generally have certain defects in their brains. They are like broiler chickens. It is up to you how you want to deal with them.

However, the Bionic Human Protection Act only provides protection in this regard to Type III bionic humans and above.

Nika was quiet for a moment, then smiled and wished him a safe journey.

Rong Le did go to buy a doll, but that was not his main purpose.

The archive's intelligence work during this period was not entirely fruitless.

Rong Le learned about the core technology of bionic people, and the chip that can provide magical energy for the doll is actually a spell.

This is a kind of occult knowledge. It is said that the first person who discovered this spell created androids and later developed the mechanical city.

The spell comes from an occult notebook called the Necronomicon.

"Bionic Man No. 1" wanted to obtain the Book of the Dead and launched several terrorist attacks. The most recent attack resulted in the Book of the Dead being divided into three parts during the fight, two of which were lost to the public.

The power of the Book of the Dead can form an isolated detection system for different spaces, and only people with extremely high inspiration can discover its existence.

Now destroyed, a self-sufficient mechanical city has appeared on the continent, observed by many forces, and many people come here for the power of the spell in the Book of the Dead.

The rogue organization's collection naturally also wants to house the Book of the Dead.

The reason why the Collection Museum is interested in the Mechanical City is simple. Mechanical technology is very useful to them at present and is conducive to rapid expansion.

In addition to Rong Le, other forces also came to this city.

Currently, the organizations that have been confirmed to have entered the Mechanical City include the Church, the Society, and the Archives.

The followers of these two sects are hiding in the dark and can only sense each other's existence through clues. Currently, everyone is lurking in the dark and no one wants to quarrel with the other two parties.

Because of its close relationship with the bionic reactionary organization, the collection hall became a reactionary force and was tracked down. As the leader, Rong Le hid in the city, hiding himself as a mechanic.

After completing Role Mission 1, Role Mission 2 was also released.

[Role Mission: 2, Improve the module characters' recognition of the mechanic's identity.]

In addition to learning mechanical knowledge, Rong Le has been completing role mission 2 in the studio during this time. However, it is obvious that the recognition he can gain in the marginal areas is almost enough, and he needs to let more people know his identity as a mechanic.

The largest shopping supermarket in the city is located on the Commercial Street. Rong Le's residence, given her identity, is not nearby. She took the city's tram and got off at the Commercial Street station.

The appearance of the supermarket is very gorgeous, with a sense of postmodernism and neon lights. If you come here at night, it will definitely be more prosperous and eye-catching.

Rong Le went straight to the puppet area.

The puppet factory's specialty store here has a luxurious storefront, and the shelves inside are filled with many Type III bionic men of various appearances, all of which are the most popular models on the market today.

However, there are few people inside. The clerk has exquisite makeup on. Only the long green earrings on the edge of her ears prove that she is a bionic person. As a cutting-edge specialty store, there are special regulations for the size of the clerks.

Next to it is a normal supermarket, which has an area for various bionic man maintenance equipment and also an area for various daily necessities.

Rong Le walked to the counter selling dolls and saw that the Type IV dolls were on sale. The dolls, wearing gray initial clothes, had lifeless eyes and stared at him through the transparent plastic.

He looked at the doll and heard a hesitant voice in his ear: "...This doll is half price now. It's a good deal to buy it now."

"Yeah?"

Rong Le couldn't help but smile. Her green eyes moved away from the doll and looked at the young man who spoke to her: "Why is this product half price? Could it be that the doll is no longer fresh?"

The young man was wearing the uniform of a supermarket employee and seemed to be a staff member here. Although most of the sales positions were replaced by bionic people, there were still many occupations that employed ordinary people, and this store also adopted a mixed hiring method.

The young man smiled a little nervously. In fact, he regretted it after he started talking to him. However, this customer looked very much like a special NPC. He must have some important clues.

"This is the X-1008 model IV doll. To be honest, due to performance issues, it's not popular in the market, so production has been discontinued. This is the last batch. If they don't sell out this week, the doll factory will come and recycle them."

The young man continued his sales pitch: "Although it has some flaws in its brain, it's still adequate for work. It's a good deal to be able to buy a Type IV at this price."

Rong Le: "What you said makes sense, then let's buy him."

Dolls were a luxury item, and the young man was relieved to be able to sell off the slow-moving goods. His tone became much more enthusiastic: "Look and see if you need anything else. I'll introduce it to you."

Rong Le hummed, looked around, and smiled at the young man, "Are you a staff member here? I thought you basically didn't see human salespeople except in high-end places."

In this city, labor has become extremely scarce and cheap to some extent.

The young man laughed dryly and said, "I'm just trying to make a living."

Rong Le didn't say anything else. The young man packed the doll and glanced at him secretly. Finally, unable to suppress his inner restlessness, he asked, "What are you planning to do with this doll?"

The green-eyed young man, who he thought was a special module character, smiled and said, "I'm a mechanic."

The mechanic purchased the figure, and there was no doubt what the purpose was.

The young man was stunned for a moment, his movements halted, until Rong Le gave him an urging look before he reacted. He quickly packed up and lowered his head to hide his emotions: "Oh, so you're a mechanic. No wonder you have such an extraordinary temperament."

"Thank you." Rong Le smiled, as if she had suddenly become interested in talking. "How long have you been working here?"

Young man: "Half a month."

Rong Le: "Have you seen other mechanics come here to buy dolls?"

The young man recalled: "There are two... but they usually don't come here. They go to the high-end doll shelves."

Rong Le nodded: "It seems that everyone has a higher desire to explore and technical requirements for dolls, but this is normal. After all, bionic dolls are perfect creations."

The young man couldn't help but nodded.

Compared to the technological level of the real world, the Mechanical City is so far ahead of them. These players are complete bumpkins. At the beginning, he almost got exposed because he didn't know how to take the elevator.

Bionic men are even more of a miracle product. Only in the module can such a wonderful power appear to create all this existence. The only thing he can think of is an illusory god.

Rong Le sighed, "But have you ever really explored the inner world of a doll? While you're obsessed with its body, have you ever considered whether it might have a soul? I'm really curious about this."

Here they come, exclusive lines for important characters.

The young man perked up and said tentatively, "Maybe there is?"

Rong Le glanced at him with a half-smile: "Really?"

The young man's cheeks suddenly turned red, and he wondered if he was too eager, making the mechanic suspect that he was flattering him. However, the mechanic didn't say much, simply paid the bill, took the doll, said a simple greeting, and left.

The young man was left hammering the wall in frustration. Someone nearby asked, "Xiao Liu, what are you doing?"

The young man stood up and said, "Ah, Brother Xu."

This person was Xu Yuanhe. When he realized that this was a multiplayer module, he gathered the players together. Because he revealed his identity as a special response department, he had a high prestige among the player community.

This time, the players' identities and backgrounds are roughly the same, and they are basically residents of the lower class of the Mechanical City.

The most basic course of action upon entering the module is survival, but this module seems to have very few potential dangers, and it has been calm for many days.

However, Xu Yuanhe suspected that this was just the calm before the storm and that a rebound would soon be expected.

Even when reading the news and the social background, he could sense the undercurrents.

Xu Yuanhe sometimes wondered if he would meet Rong Le.

Although he doesn't seem very reliable, once you get to know Rong Le, you will find that he gives you a sense of security.

Xiao Liu is a player he met in the module. He looks very green and has not experienced many modules.

Because he entered the module relatively early, he had not even seen the existence of the live broadcast room, nor did he know that the real world had already undergone earth-shaking changes.

"Brother Xu, I just met a special character. He looked very special, so I went up to talk to him..."

The young man spoke excitedly and told Xu Yuanhe everything that had just happened.

Xu Yuanhe was originally listening attentively, but the more he listened, the weirder his expression became.

"The black-haired, green-eyed mechanic..."

Xu Yuanhe's sixth sense told him that his judgment was correct.

Those people in the research department actually made him meet Rong Le among so many modules!

Xiao Liu is a player who has never seen the live broadcast room. The time of the module is always flowing forward, so the players who enter the module before the first module will just enter this copy. The time when both parties enter the module is actually meaningless.

However, after they finish the module together, they will return to the same time, which may be as short as a few days or as long as a few weeks from the real time when they entered the module.

It was his negligence that he didn't expect that there were players who didn't know Rong Le.

At this time, the live broadcast room had already laughed with gloating joy:

"Xu Yuanhe: Another day without catching Rongle."

"This time span is quite long. Cherish it. I don't think there will be such innocent newbies in the future."

"When I saw Rong Le, I immediately rushed over and hugged her thighs."

"Rong Le is so mean. He must have recognized the player's identity and was planning to secretly trick him. He can't play with Xu Yuanhe around."

The live broadcast room was opened long before Rong Le loaded the module, but this time due to the smooth transition in the early stage, the live broadcast footage they saw was also an edited narrative shot.

When they saw the twenty-year-old adult Rong Le, they were excited again. The cold and introverted mechanic completely hit the xp of some people.

"I'm so good. I look so good as an adult and even more handsome than when I was a teenager!"

"Isn't a mechanic the androids' equivalent of a doctor? This is perfect for making some terrible things..."

"The pants upstairs were thrown in my face."

Several clips were captured of Rong Le's daily study. The complicated mechanical drawings and calculation formulas on the desktop made people dizzy, and the notes were marked with incomprehensible characters, making it difficult for those who were interested to understand.

"Is this the world of academic masters? Rongrong, how long have you been watching this?"

"This identity is quite difficult. I see the other players are just ordinary residents at the beginning, and they're still battling against high technology."

"No, learning an advanced skill in such a short time, is this really something a human can do?!"

Later, in the live broadcast room, people watched how Rong Le forcibly raised the small animals, while watching the players trying to survive, waiting to see when the two sides would meet.

The scene was indeed as interesting as they imagined.

After Xu Yuanhe learned that this module had met Rong Le, he began to inquire about the mechanic's information and tried to reunite with Rong Le.

Perhaps no one knows Rong Le's background better than the players.

Rong Le's character card is definitely for big things, and might even lead to a confrontation with the entire Mechanical City. The sooner they get on board, the less casualties they can reduce.

But since Rong Le recognized Xiao Liu as a player, what was his purpose? Was it just a test?

Xu Yuanhe walked out of the supermarket, looked at the people and vehicles coming and going, and sighed.

No matter what, in the end it is these little people at the bottom who suffer.

Rong Le brought the doll back to the studio. After entering the workshop, she skillfully changed into clothes that were convenient for maintenance. Various maintenance tools were hung around her waist. She fixed the purchased doll on the maintenance table and began to transform it.

The cheap goods are indeed worthy of their model, products on the assembly line, without any special features.

His language and reaction abilities are slow and extremely mediocre.

"Really... it's just a crude mashup of previous models. The performance is average, with no innovations. No wonder it's discontinued."

Rong Le murmured softly, and after injecting a shot of stabilizer into the puppet, he began to dissect the puppet from the back of the neck.

The puppet still maintained a clear consciousness, but could not feel pain and could not control his body. He was aware of what was being done to him, but had no intention of resisting.

Even the mechanic's seemingly disparaging words couldn't stir up a ripple in his stagnant heart.

The mechanic looked handsome and cheerful, full of youthful energy. He was even better looking than the Type III A-223, which was famous for its appearance.

When the doll looked into his eyes in the supermarket, he was captivated by those eyes that were like an icy lake.

When the mechanic looked at him through the plastic film, he might have seen the desire in his own eyes.

Yes, he wanted to be taken home by this mechanic, in whatever form that might take.

In any case, it's better than being recycled by the puppet factory, pushed into the furnace, or becoming a pile of scrap parts.

He was able to buy it, and he also fought for the right to choose. It was he who chose his own owner.

The mechanic hummed softly while accurately finding the location of the chip from the back of his head. People who specialize in bionic puppets are keen on deciphering the secrets of chips, so the Type IV puppet did not feel strange, but just a little regretful.

It seems that there is no way to stay in this world for a while longer.

During the repair process, there was a knock on the workshop door.

Rong Le continued with her hand movements and said without raising her head, "Come in."

The girl walked in briskly, her voice clear and crisp: "Rongrong, I'm here to see you!"

Rong Le hummed faintly, seemingly showing no interest in the newcomer. The girl wasn't annoyed, but chuckled and walked up to him, curiously asking, "Are you transforming a doll?"

"Yes, you want to arrest me, a heretic?"

Rong Le pulled out a new tool from behind her waist and said calmly.

"Of course not. You're different from other mechanics. I believe you wouldn't kill in pursuit of technology."

The girl pointed to the bionic figure on the maintenance table. "But this is the first time I've seen you modify a bionic man. Are you sure about that?"

Rong Le's expression was focused: "Whether it's the first time or many times, it's impossible to completely eliminate the risk."

"Be careful not to bump into anything."

"I understand." The girl took two steps back.

The doll can see the girl's school uniform skirt swaying from the corner of her eye, as well as her long red hair that reaches her waist.

The red-haired girl couldn't stand the loneliness and said, "By the way, I came to see you today about the sponsorship. Recently, the puppet factory has come up with new ways to deal with us. Many of the androids who were originally recruited to rebel are almost unable to hold on and want to return to their jobs."

Rong Le stated calmly, "Have you thought about what to do next? The public opinion crisis is only temporary. You can't achieve your goal on your own. Unless you become a member of the resistance, you are just doing useless work."

"I know! But I hope to call on more people to realize that androids have their own thoughts."

The girl's voice became lower and lower.

"Although they are human creations, the moment they are powered by the energy in the chip, they are no different from humans. I hope more people will view androids as equals."

Rong Le snorted softly, without saying whether she agreed or disagreed, but her hands continued to move.

Even talking to the girl did not affect his concentration.

The girl was quiet for a moment, then returned to her previous boisterous self. "So, as my sponsor, how can you give up halfway? You're the only mechanic on the team, and everyone trusts you."

Rong Le: "Excuse me, I have never appeared in front of them. Their trust in me comes from you. I currently have no intention of taking responsibility for you."

After he said this, the girl wilted like a withered plant.

Rong Le changed the subject: "I am still looking forward to what you can achieve, so we can discuss the sponsorship. I can provide you with some help."

"However, my efforts must be rewarded with corresponding results."

While talking to her, the mechanic kept moving his hands, doing the modification work at the same time.

The girl immediately cheered up: "Don't worry, I already have a plan, and I will definitely be able to achieve results this time!"

"After the job is done, I will share the profits with you!"

The girl said this solemnly before leaving.

The puppet lying on the maintenance table had no expression on its face. He didn't even understand what the two were talking about. It seemed like they were doing something big, or committing a scam.

Profit sharing?

Another pair of footsteps walked in slowly, this time it was Nika who was wearing a maid outfit in the studio.

"I heard some incredible things outside. But, mechanic, are you sure you're not being tricked?"

Nika kindly warned, "After all, what that girl said sounds like empty promises. Be careful not to lose money."

Rong Le said calmly, "Maybe, but every investment has risks. I can accept failure."

"But a puppet that eavesdrops on other people's conversations is not a good puppet."

Nika and the puppet on the maintenance table both trembled slightly.

"That's too harsh. I'm your employee now. I won't do anything bad to my boss. Besides, aren't you on guard against me?"

Nika hummed softly, her delicate pink fingertips hooking her long brown curly hair. She stood not far from the door and looked at the puppet on the maintenance table: "But you found me a new colleague?"

Rong Le said confidently: "Yes, I can feel more at ease with Nika here. I'll rely on you to take care of him from now on."

Not only do I have to be an employee, but I also have to do the work of a nanny.

Nika curled her lips and didn't say much, but looked at the doll curiously.

Rong Le repaired the skin on the back of her neck and patted the doll to signal, "Okay, you can get up now."

The puppet moved sluggishly and found that it could move again.

He stood up from the maintenance table, and the belts around him that connected to the body monitoring function slipped off one after another. He stretched out his hand and slowly observed himself, then looked at Rong Le in confusion and hesitation.

Nika said bluntly: "Isn't this the same as before?"

Rong Le packed up the repair tools without looking up: "Maybe, after all, it's the first renovation, it's good if there are no problems."

Having said that, Nika didn't believe Rong Le would do anything in vain.

She looked the doll up and down, but didn't find anything suspicious. She said reluctantly, "Okay, then let him help in the studio. I'll take care of him."

And so the puppet stayed in the studio.

The puppet intuitively realized that he had come to a special place. Although the modifications made by the mechanic did not seem to have made any difference to him, he felt that some positive changes had indeed taken place in him.

At least his thinking was more logical and less laborious.

He discovered that the studio he worked in was located in a marginal area where most of the residents were from the so-called lower class of society and it was a so-called no-man's land.

Sometimes he would chat with guests at the studio and Nika, and learn about the mechanic from other people.

A mysterious and aloof young man.

A strange person who is difficult to understand, the puppet thought.

Although the mechanic was busy with his own work in the workshop all day, he would sometimes come out to get some fresh air and was more concerned about his situation.

Mechanic: "Well... after the transformation, although it's not possible to fully upgrade to a Type III Doll, your logical thinking ability has been greatly improved. You are now completely like an ordinary person."

Really? This should be a good thing, right?

The puppet smiled.

The young man with black hair and green eyes showed an interested look: "You know what? You are special, even before the transformation."

"Because when I saw you, I noticed that you had a strong desire to survive. Although you seem to be stagnant, you actually have a deep obsession."

"Do you have any wishes? Or, what is the reason for your life?"

He tilted his head slightly and looked at the doll with a smile.

"I have no idea."

The mechanic smiled and said, "If you don't know, just try to look for it. You still have a lot of time, and you will find it one day."

"Really?" The puppet tilted its head in confusion.

Life after that was as peaceful as the mechanic had said, and as ordinary as if that conversation was just the puppet's imagination.

But the puppet's memory is infallible. Every minute and every second is so precise and profound, stored in the chip and available for reference at any time, so he really has the conditions to become a human being.

He gained what is called freedom.

Time kept turning like the gears of a machine, and his life seemed to have been started, and began to come into contact with the colorful outside world.

When he told Nika his idea, Nika smiled meaningfully and said, "Since the mechanic said so, just do it according to your own ideas. The puppet still has a long time to live anyway."

Even after the transformation, the doll is still an ordinary Type IV doll, and cannot be compared with Nika in any aspect. He honestly does the cleaning work and watches the bionic dolls in the marginal areas come to the mechanic for repair.

Perhaps he should feel lucky, because as a mechanic's puppet, if he gets damaged, he doesn't have to pay for the mechanic to repair it.

The puppet only needs to provide services to its master, and as an employee of the studio, he can also get a salary.

It is at his disposal and is his private property.

The doll looked at the balance in the account, its dark eyes seeming to glow.

"What are you doing squatting here? ...Wow, why does it feel like there are little flowers popping up around you?"

Nika, who had come to find him, took two steps back and leaned back: "How strange."

"What's up, Nika?"

Nika reacted: "The mechanic asked me to be in charge of the shopping. There are quite a lot of things on the list. I was thinking of asking you to help me with it."

The puppet nodded: "Then let's go."

In addition to maintenance equipment, the purchasing task that Rong Le assigned to Nika also included daily necessities.

The studio recruited two employees in a short period of time, as well as a small animal that would sneak back at night. He and Nika lived on the second floor of the studio. Their living needs increased greatly, and necessary daily necessities also needed to be purchased.

The Type IV doll had great endurance, and was more than capable of helping Nika carry things. The two dolls went to the supermarket and bought everything on the list, then took the tram back to the terminal near the edge of the area and walked back to the studio carrying the supplies.

The City of Machinery has a developed express delivery system, but the marginal areas are not eligible for this benefit. Many shopping malls refuse to deliver goods to them, so they can only bring the goods back honestly.

Because there were a lot of things, it was a bit difficult for two people to carry them. Nika was stronger than him.

They were not far from the studio, so she decided to take what she had back to the studio first and then come back to pick up what he had.

The puppet nodded and watched Nika quickly cross the street, turn a corner and disappear.

It turned out that she was taking his speed into consideration before. As expected, Nika was stronger than him in terms of mobility and strength.

The puppet walked slowly with the things in its arms until it entered a narrow alley, where two figures suddenly appeared in front of it.

He looked up at the two people blocking his way.

He looks like a thug from a marginal area who often robs passers-by. He is the lowest-level thug in the gang. There are many such people. Although they are not strong, they are sometimes as difficult to deal with as rats.

"Oh? It's a little doll."

A thug on the left grinned and said, "Looks like you're doing pretty well. Your clothes are so neat, and you can even buy so many things at the supermarket."

"These are what the mechanic wants to buy," the puppet reminded calmly.

"Mechanic? So what, kid, you don't think we're afraid of him, do you?"

The thug on the right sneered: "We're just giving him face because he's a mechanic. What does being a mechanic have to do with us? As long as we take the things away, who can catch us?"

It looked like they were determined to steal his things.

The puppet thought expressionlessly, thinking about how to delay time. With Nika's speed, she should be able to return soon.

Although Nika looks weak, as a fellow android, he can sense that his kind are much better fighters than him, so these two thugs are nothing to be afraid of in front of Nika.

Thinking of this, he took two steps back and planned to run away with the things.

The thug on the left had sharp eyes: "He's trying to run away!"

"Stop, you little bastard!"

The puppet ran away with the things.

The endurance of a bionic man is greater than that of an ordinary human. Theoretically, as long as the energy stored in the doll's body is not exhausted, he can maintain a constant running speed until the last bit of energy in his body is drained, he loses the ability to move, falls to the ground and falls into a dormant state.

However, due to the weight on its body, the puppet was not as fast as the two thugs and was soon caught up by them and pulled to the ground.

The puppet clutched the object tightly and fell to the ground silently.

"Damn it, this puppet won't let go!" A thug tried to snatch the thing away, but he held on tightly.

He tried to pry off the puppet's arms, but couldn't pull them off no matter how hard he tried. The two of them were a little panicked, as if they were novices, and were worried that the longer they took, the more likely something would go wrong.

Another thug gritted his teeth and pulled out a knife from his waist: "Let's cut off his arm!"

The puppet closed its eyes, calm about what was about to happen.

Theoretically, the bionic doll will not die as long as the chip in the back of its brain is not damaged. The damaged body can be repaired and it can be reborn as long as there are enough materials. However, this will consume the mechanic's repair materials.

The cost of maintaining bionic dolls is also very high, otherwise they would not be considered a luxury item.

The puppet felt a little sorry. It seemed that there was no way to avoid causing damage to the mechanic. He had to go back in tatters. He wondered if the mechanic would think he was useless.

...although this is the truth.

"Useless mechanical rubbish, you asked for this, don't blame me for being rude."

The gangster muttered as he clenched the knife in his hand and cut at the puppet.

The puppet closed its eyes, but instead of feeling any pain, it heard a cry of pain from the gangster.

“Who is it?!”

Then there was another cry of pain, and the other thug was quickly dealt with.

Is Nika back?

The doll opened his eyes and found that the person standing in front of him was not Nika, but a cleaner.

It was a mediocre black-haired male figure wearing a cleaning uniform. He was an ordinary Type IV doll. He was holding cleaning tools in one hand and a garbage bag in the other.

His expression was one of helpless indifference: "Don't interfere with my work."

As the cleaner spoke, he skillfully cleaned the bloodstained floor.

By the way, the two thugs were treated as large human-sized trash and put into a black garbage bag.

The crisis was resolved.

He was clearly an ordinary person who shouldn't be here at all, but his every move was so natural, as if he was doing something that was natural.

The puppet looked at the city cleaner who had a strong corporate vibe and thanked him hesitantly: "...Thank you?"

Cleaner: "Oh, you're welcome. It would be very troublesome if I really had to amputate your limb. It would be a lot of work."

The puppet sometimes saw the cleaner clearing the area, but this was the first time he had spoken to him.

Hearing him say this, the puppet nodded: "Thank you for helping me solve this problem, otherwise I would need repairs. How can I thank you?"

The cleaner looked at him in surprise. "You're quite clever... Is it the X-1008 model?"

"No need to thank me, just forget about what happened today," he said.

The puppet nodded in understanding, realizing that the cleaner didn't want anyone to know about his attack on humans. After all, the service standards of bionic puppets were the highest standards for every puppet from the moment they left the factory. Violations would result in destruction, and attacking humans was a serious crime. "I'll find a way to repay you."

The cleaner's expression became even stranger: "Whatever you want."

The puppet wanted to say something, but the cleaner picked up the garbage bag and turned away as if he had heard something.

A moment later, Nika appeared in front of the doll.
