Chapter 110: The Truth
After hearing this, Eve glanced at Lokin. She understood that with Nono's talent and status, she would definitely not be just an ordinary spark in the future.
What worries her now is that it's only a matter of time before Nono remembers her past.
These days she has been constantly researching information about the Zerg and has learned about some of their characteristics.
Their race has the ability to temporarily seal away memories, especially painful ones, in order to survive in certain special situations and harsh environments and prevent these painful memories from affecting their psyche.
But these memories will gradually resurface when they encounter members of their own kind or when their living environment improves.
She worried about how Nono would get along with them then.
The Northern River System stole her from her home and family, took her core, and transformed her into the spark of the Northern River System, subjecting her to so much suffering.
Once Nono remembers all of this, she will definitely hate the North River System.
But when she grows up here and faces her loving parents, brothers, sisters, and other relatives, she will only suffer more.
Just thinking about it made Ivana's heart clench.
But all they can do now is nurture her as she grows up. Aled's meaning is quite clear: Nono's current body simply cannot survive in the Zerg environment.
If possible, the Zerg would bring her back even without her revealing the truth.
Therefore, no matter what, they will inevitably be questioned by Nono after she regains her memories.
Ivana sighed inwardly, deciding to take it one step at a time.
Perhaps, before her memories are restored, they can heal the wounds in her heart; at least for now, Nono is happy and joyful.
"Ivana...Ivana?"
Lokin's voice brought Ivana back to her senses, and she turned to look at him: "What's wrong, sister?"
Seeing the worry in Evena's eyes, Lokin asked with concern, "Evena, have you been too busy lately and are you tired?"
Upon hearing this, Winnie and Phil immediately stepped forward to offer their concern, saying, "If you're too busy with work, ask others to share some of the workload. Don't take on everything yourself; your health is important."
Ivana laughed and said, "The Fire Seed Association doesn't have much to do, it's just that I haven't been sleeping well these past two days."
What she said was true. Ever since she learned Anuo's identity, she had often been unable to sleep at night, worrying about her.
When Tang Ting heard that she had trouble sleeping, he said to her, "I'll prescribe some calming medicine for you. You'll feel better after taking it a few times."
"Thank you, brother-in-law."
Logan wanted to say something to Eve, but Anno came over and hugged her leg.
She bent down and picked up Anuo. The baby was sleepy and needed to take her for a nap.
Lokin led Anno upstairs, but after a couple of steps she stopped and turned to Evena, saying, "Evena, if there's anything bothering you, you can talk to us. We're family, so don't keep it to yourself. We'll share it with you."
Ivana forced a smile. "Okay."
Anno leaned on Lokin's shoulder and smiled slightly at Evena as she looked at her.
Looking at Anno's smile, Eve felt a pang of pain in her heart, as if she had been struck by a blow.
Lokin took Anno up to the bedroom on the second floor. Since Anno was still young and needed constant care, Lokin let Anno sleep with them for the time being.
Luo Jingang stayed with Anuo for a while, and just as she was about to get up after falling into a deep sleep, he saw Eve standing at the door watching them.
She glanced at the sleeping Anno, then got up and walked up to Eve. "Eve, is there something you want to tell me?"
Ivana nodded gently. "I should have told you a long time ago, but I've been struggling with myself lately. I didn't know how to tell you, but you are Nono's parents, so I shouldn't have kept it from you."
Logan pulled Ivana to the door and gently closed it. "Let's talk in the study."
After saying that, she opened her communication app, asked Winnie to come up and keep Anno company while she slept, and called Tang Ting to the study as well.
Inside the study.
Lokin poured a cup of hot water and placed it in front of Eve. "What do you want to tell us?"
Evena picked up the hot water and took a sip; despite the sweltering heat, her hands felt a little cold.
Tang Ting and Luo Jin sat opposite her, watching her quietly, waiting for her to speak.
Ivana composed herself, put down the hot water, and looked up at the two of them. "What I want to tell you is about Nono."
Tang Ting and Logan exchanged a glance, thinking to themselves that Evena had finally agreed to tell them.
They waited for Ivana to continue, but instead, Ivana reached out her hand to them, and the light behind her ear flickered and floated in mid-air.
“I’ll show you Nono’s past memories, everything about her.”
Logan raised his hand, paused above Ivana's palm, and then took her hand.
Tang Ting also grasped Logan's hand, receiving the memories that Evena had released to them.
Anno didn't wake up until after 5 p.m., when the sun had almost set and it wasn't so hot anymore.
Green Hill is also the coolest area in the north. Fearing that she might catch a cold from too much air conditioning, the air conditioning in the house was turned off, the windows were open, and a breeze with a bit of warmth blew in from outside, lifting the light gauze curtains.
Anno rolled around comfortably on the bed and stretched.
She habitually looked around, searching for her parents.
Turning her head, she met Luo Jin's beautiful, cool green eyes. Although her eyebrows and eyes always carried a cold air, her gaze was so gentle that it seemed to drip with water.
Lokin touched Anno's face and said softly, "Baby's awake?"
Seeing her mother there, Anuo snuggled into her arms.
Lokin held Anno in his arms, hugging her tightly and kissing the top of her head repeatedly.
From an angle where Anno couldn't see, her eyes glistened with tears.
Anno nestled in Lokin's arms, feeling utterly content.
Feeling that Luo Jin was holding her a little tighter, she peeked out from her arms to look at her, "Mom?"
Hearing Anno call him "Mom," Lokin almost couldn't hold back the tears welling up in his eyes.
"Mom is here."
Locke struggled to suppress his emotions.
Anno placed her hand near Lokin's cheek. "Mom, are you unhappy?"
She keenly sensed that something was wrong with Logan's emotions.
"Mom is not unhappy."
Luo Jin held Anuo's hand, looking at her tenderly: "Mom is so happy, happy that Nuonuo can finally come home, and happy that Nuonuo is Mom's baby."
Anno laughed, hugging Lokin's neck and burying her face in it. "I'm happy too, you're Mommy's baby."
How lucky she is to be able to grow up again and have loving parents and family.
Upon hearing Anuo's words, Luo Jin almost burst into tears. "Mom is the luckiest mom in the world because she has Anuo."
Although she and Tang Ting were prepared for the worst and knew that she must have gone through a lot of suffering in the past, they did not know that those sufferings were beyond their imagination.
She could have grown up healthy and happy in her own home with her parents, but she lost so much because of the North River system.
No matter what they do, they can't make up for the suffering and pain she endured in the past.
