Chapter 142: Family
"Little girl, how did you come up with a name for yourself? Did someone teach you how to name yourself?"
On the city wall of the base, two adults and one child sat on the edge of the wall, basking in the rare sunshine.
“No one taught me, I just know that my name is Anunu, and I like this name.”
Anunu sat between her older brother and sister, gnawing on a freshly cooked meat bone.
Ji Wenjia and Bai Zhi exchanged a smile, wrapped the blanket around Anunu a little more, and moved closer to her.
Anunu: "Sister Wenjia, Brother Xiaobai, you're squeezing me so much I can't breathe!"
Bai Zhi whispered in her ear with a smile, "Because I want to hug your sister Wenjia. If I don't get closer, I won't be able to hug her."
Anunu: "Then I won't sit in the middle."
Ji Wenjia smiled and ruffled her beautiful hair, "Then let's have our cutest Anunu sit in the middle."
As soon as she finished speaking, Bai Zhi pulled her close. Anunu didn't hear them talking. When she looked up, Wen Jia and Bai Zhi were already kissing. She glanced up, but Bai Zhi covered her eyes with his hand.
She tried to pry Bai Zhi's hands off, but Wen Jia held them down so she couldn't move.
Anunu whispered, "I won't eat your saliva. I have meat to eat. Let me go. I haven't finished gnawing on my meat bones yet."
As soon as she said that, Wenjia and Baizhi couldn't help but laugh. They laughed so hard that they couldn't kiss anymore. They pressed their foreheads against each other and looked at Anunu laughing for a long time.
"Okay, we won't crowd our Anunu." Bai Zhi picked Anunu up and put her on his lap, and Wen Jia sat down next to him.
The outside world was covered in white snow. It was rare for the snow to stop today, and the sun was shining. The two of them wrapped themselves in blankets, holding Anunu as they looked out at the world.

Bai Zhi gripped her shoulders tightly, looking at her with reddened eyes.

Bai Zhi placed the last gun in her hand, then transformed into a large dog and charged into the flames.
Anunu watched as the fire engulfed Wenjia and Baizhi. She ran forward desperately, calling out to them, "Sister Wenjia! Brother Xiaobai!"
As she ran, her body suddenly plummeted downwards, and beneath her lay endless darkness, which seemed to devour her like a giant beast.
"Sister Wenjia...Brother Xiaobai..."
Anno suddenly opened her eyes in her sleep. She stared blankly at the ceiling above her, which was carved with ancient patterns. Tears streamed down her face and soaked into her pillow.
She felt a strange yet incredibly familiar aura surrounding her, an aura etched into her very bones and soul.
She turned her head and met a pair of deep blue eyes that resembled her own. The eyes and brows were somewhat similar to hers. The person in front of her had an exceptionally beautiful face, and long, light golden hair emitted a faint glow in the dim room.
Beside her stood a tall figure with unparalleled handsome features, long orange-red hair like flames, and facial features similar to hers.
She stared at them blankly for a moment, then heard them call out, "Anunu."
When Sevier saw that her Anunu had woken up, she could hardly contain her excitement. With a look of heartache, she wanted to wipe away the tears from the corners of her eyes. Just as she reached out her hand, Anunu turned her face slightly to the side, avoiding her hand.
Sevier immediately became a little flustered, wanting to hug her but afraid that she would resist, and didn't know where to put her hands.
She said softly, "Anunu, I'm your mother, Anunu, you're home."
Anno stared at her for a while, watching her outstretched hand, then turned her back to her, curled up, and buried her face in the blanket.
Seeing her actions, Sevier and Augustus felt their hearts clench.
They could feel the deep sadness emanating from her consciousness; she buried herself in the blankets, her shoulders trembling slightly.
Hearing her whimpering like a small animal, their hearts were broken.
Sevier, no longer caring about anything else, pulled her into her arms and hugged her tightly: "Anunu, my Anunu, you're home now. With your mom and dad here, no one can bully you anymore."
Anno clutched Sevier's collar, crying even harder. Augsis, watching from the side, paced anxiously. "Anunu, don't be afraid! I'll go beat up the people who bullied you! Then I'll throw them into the abyss to feed the furry!"
Sevier kept stroking her back to help her catch her breath, afraid that she would cry herself to death. The whip was also wrapped around her hand, sending her energy to soothe her emotions.
"Good girl, Nunu, you're home now, don't cry."
Anno, clutching Sevier's whip, finally spoke, sobbing, "Why did it take you so long to come, Anunu... Anunu has been looking for you..."
These words left Augustis and Sevier speechless with guilt.
Sevier hugged Annu and pressed her face against Annu's forehead. "Mom and Dad are sorry for Annu. We couldn't protect Annu. We will never let Annu get hurt again."
Anuo buried her face in her arms and cried until her head was spinning before she finally stopped.
She finally fell asleep in Sevier's arms after crying herself to sleep.
All the unease of the past years finally subsided after I regained my memories, returned to my own place, and came back to the familiar and comforting atmosphere of home.
Sevier watched as Anno cried herself to sleep, still sobbing. She wiped away her tears, took the warm handkerchief Augsis offered, and gently wiped Anno's face.
Even when her Anunu was still an egg, she had rehearsed countless times in her mind how to be a mother and how to make her Anunu grow up happily.
As queen beetles, breeding them is not easy. They may only have one Aloo in their entire lives, but they couldn't protect their only Aloo, leaving her to suffer so much outside.

Sevier trembled slightly with anger, her heart aching at the sight of Anunu's red and swollen eyes from crying.
