Chapter 212: Derivatives
At the coastal dock, Karina is talking to the boat owner about chartering a boat.
After paying and getting the key, I turned around and saw Anno sitting on the dock, holding a net and looking down at something in the water.
She walked over and squatted down beside her. "Xiao Qi, what are you fishing for?"
Anuo looked up at her and laughed, "Fishing, Second Sister! Look how many fish are in there!"
She looked into the water and saw only the glow of plankton in the night, which flickered intermittently as she stirred the water with her net; she saw no fish.
"I'm going to catch some fish to make grilled fish, delicious grilled fish!"
Karina noticed that her demeanor and tone were somewhat different from usual; she had noticed it as she walked over.
She reached out and touched her cheek; it was burning hot.
They all wear shapeshifters now, so their appearance will remain unchanged, and the changes to their bodies are not visible to the naked eye.
As soon as she touched Anno's cheek, a soft object, burning hot, wrapped around her wrist.
Her expression froze; it was Anno's light band.
Is Xiaoqi drunk?
She had ordered a bottle of wine while they were eating. It was a fruit wine made by the father and daughter who ran the shop. She thought it tasted good, so she ordered a bottle. Xiaoqi liked it very much and wanted to drink more after finishing one bottle. Seeing that Xiaoqi seemed to have a good tolerance for alcohol, she ordered a bottle of each flavor for her.
She drank seven bottles by herself, and afterwards she didn't seem drunk at all; her mind was clear.
"Second sister, where's our boat? I want to go out to sea and catch more fish!"
Karina helped Anno up from the ground. "Okay, let's go take a boat."
"Xiaoqi, where are your shoes?"
Karina looked at her barefoot; her shoes were nowhere to be seen.
Anuo followed her gaze and looked down, then looked at her with a somewhat blank expression.
“It ran away by itself,” Anno said earnestly.
Upon hearing this, Karina smiled slightly. "Then let it run away."
Anno grabbed Karina's hand. "Second sister, come on, let's go catch a giant whale!"
The two boarded the ship and headed out to sea.
After the ship left the dock, Karina set it to automatic mode and knelt down in front of Anno.
Anno was sitting on the ground fiddling with some fishing gear from the boat when Karina reached out and touched the shapeshifter behind her ear. She turned off the shapeshifter, instantly revealing Anno's original form.
Her face was incredibly red, and not only her face, but the rest of her body was flushed. The soft ribbon draped over her shoulder and swayed slightly, making her look weak and listless.
Anno was fiddling with the fishing gear like a child playing with toys.
Karina cupped Anno's face in her hands, making her lift her head and look directly at her.
Even when she was drunk, her eyes remained incredibly clear. Under the ship's lights, her beautiful blue eyes seemed to hold starlight.
"Second Sister."
Anno smiled at Karina and nuzzled his head against her hand.
Feeling the burning heat in her hand, Karina let go of her, took a bottle of water, unscrewed the cap, and handed it to her, saying, "I won't let you drink so much next time."
"liquor?!"
Anno thought Karina was holding alcohol, so he took it and gulped it down his throat.
After downing half a bottle in one go, she frowned and said, "This wine doesn't taste good, it has no flavor."
Karina smiled and rummaged through the ship's liquor cabinet, finding a bottle of juice for her.
"It's sweet, so delicious!" She smiled after tasting the sweetness.
Seeing her smile, Karina couldn't help but smile back. Suddenly, a surge of energy emanated from nearby.
A cold glint flashed in her eyes, and the smile on her lips vanished. After the spatial gate was formed, before the person inside could emerge, a silvery current shot out from her hand, sending the person back. The electromagnetic field twisted and sealed the spatial gate shut.
At this moment, Anno also felt the familiars in the consciousness network constantly surrounding her consciousness. She wanted to reply, but she always felt that the consciousness network was intermittent, as if the signal was bad.
She spoke a few words to them, but didn't hear what they said, so she simply ignored them.
On the other side, Caesar and his companions all looked rather grim.
Poponia frowned and said, "What's going on? We're so close to His Highness, how could the consciousness network not connect?"
Tanville looked at Caesar, who had been blasted out of the portal, and said in a deep voice, "It's not that we can't connect, it's that we're blocked. I didn't expect Karina's derivative abilities to be so strong. I'm afraid she has already developed dual abilities."
"I need to find His Highness!"
After saying this, Mingxiao's figure quickly disappeared in front of them.
After being knocked out by Karina, Caesar stood still for a moment before continuing to open the portal.
His spatial abilities have reached SSS level. Although they are countered by Karina's abilities, they are not so easy to subdue.
Tanville watched as Caesar simultaneously opened countless spatial portals around himself; he was clearly serious.
Previously, after being beaten out by Karina because of His Highness, he did not take any further action, as His Highness did not express any dissatisfaction with Karina's behavior.
Her unintentional indulgence of Karina's attack on them indicated that Karina held a special place in her heart, and they could only obey and not cause any trouble for Her Highness.
But now Karina's abilities can actually block their Zerg consciousness network, which crosses their bottom line.
Such a person, regardless of whether he will transform into an insectoid being, is extremely dangerous to have by His Highness's side.
But after learning that she possessed this ability, Tanvel hoped that she would become a member of the Zerg.
They didn't trust any outsiders. After she became a member of the Zerg, she was absolutely loyal to His Highness and posed no threat to him. Her magnetic shielding ability would only pose a threat to them at most.
Tanvir and his group's consciousness network contains an unknown amount of information, not only the knowledge and heritage accumulated by their Zerg race, but also the information they receive from the outside world every moment.
After filtering through such a vast network of information, there are very few people who possess the ability to sever and isolate their consciousness network over such a short distance. Currently, only Karina still has this ability.
Previously, the only technology that could block their Zerg consciousness network was Beihe's shielding technology, but that was a large-scale isolation, covering an entire galaxy.
Once they enter this area, this shielding method becomes ineffective against them.
Moreover, the shielding system of the River is a man-made technology, and even the most advanced technology can be cracked. The Zerg have now cracked the River's shielding technology.
However, abilities like Karina's, which are naturally derived from her superpowers, cannot be cracked using artificial technology.
Only those abilities that counter her, or those who are immune to her abilities, can find a way to counter her power.
They don't care what place Karina holds in His Highness's heart, but it's unacceptable that she possesses this ability.
Even if they cannot disobey Her Highness's orders to do anything to her now, they will report to Queen Sevier when they return.
Her Majesty the Queen is also very wary of this ability to block the Zerg consciousness network. They didn't know it before, but now that they do, even though Her Majesty admires Karina very much, she has to reconsider.
Bazel watched as the other four disappeared, shook his head, and carried the aircraft parts to a spacecraft.
This is the bare aircraft, which he just bought from the repair shop.
He planned to build a flying machine for Nono. Just now, she and Karina went out for a test flight, and he could feel her happy mood while flying the machine. He wanted to build one for her according to her preferences.
As for Tanville and the others' concerns, he had a different opinion.
Their concerns are valid, but Nono has her own ideas. She knows what is right and wrong, and she knows what she wants. Even though Karina has powerful shielding abilities, Nono doesn't like having her thoughts and ideas controlled by others. If Karina does that with her own abilities, Nono will be the first to leave without them having to do anything.
Even someone as possessive and rebellious as Caesar could only resort to petty tricks to win Nono's attention and favor.
Because Caesar knew what Nono liked and disliked, no matter how powerful he was, he dared not do anything to satisfy his possessiveness and make her dislike him.
At sea, Karina felt a powerful energy surging around her, and countless spatial portals opened around them, almost distorting the scene before her eyes.
It seems that Caesar is angry.
Karina gathered lightning in her hand, and after seeing Anno happily catching fish by the boat, the crackling lightning flickered in her hand and slowly dissipated.
As soon as she withdrew her power, the shielding magnetic field gradually disappeared.
This derivative ability is currently attached to her lightning power; she cannot completely separate it yet.
When her abilities reached SS level, this ability to control magnetic fields was derived from her Flash ability.
Perhaps when she reaches SSS rank, this derivative ability will become her second ability.
Seeing Caesar open so many spatial portals at once, and his urgent manner, she guessed that her ability must have blocked the Zerg's consciousness network.
The Zerg's consciousness network is one of their most important racial characteristics and abilities, and its derivative capabilities make them wary.
Anuo was scooping things out of the water with a net when she sensed a familiar presence in front of her. She looked up and saw a portal appear before her. She reached her hand in and touched a warm palm.
The hand immediately grasped hers, and with a slight pull, Caesar emerged halfway out of the portal, his face suddenly looming close to hers.
