Chapter 232: The Sacred Tree Takes Root
Frontline General Base, First District Canteen.
The cafeteria was filled with cheers and bustling noise.
The war in the North River system has officially come to an end. The interstellar war has ended, and the Zerg and Allied forces have sent other troops to fight. The soldiers who fought in the North River system have withdrawn and can have a rest of about half a month.
During the lull in the fighting, the soldiers held various parties in the huge mess hall, which usually consisted of eating, drinking, and playing games with allies from other star systems.
Anno was having a meal with Logan and the others, with Anaya's communication screen projected in front of them.
"It's so lively over there."
Anaya was also eating; she had just finished her work.
The handover work in the Northern River system was extremely busy. In fact, she didn't participate in much of this work. Her main task was to discover that a seed of the Sacred Tree had taken root and sprouted on the Firefly Star in the Northern River system.
This matter has caused the Tianyun Galaxy a great headache, but fortunately, the Beihe Galaxy is now under Tianyun's control, except that Yingjiao Star is now under the control of the Zerg.
The Zerg and the Allies also have an alliance because the Zerg's gene diffusion ability is too strong. If the Zerg were stationed on Firefly Star, the energy of the Sacred Tree would eventually be tainted by the Zerg's genetic energy and would no longer be suitable for the Tianyun Star people.
However, this issue, which originated in the Northern River System, has now become a problem for the Tianyun System.
Once the sacred tree takes root, it connects to the planet's internal energy and cannot be dug up or transplanted. If it is dug up, the sacred tree will immediately wither.
There were already very few Sacred Trees left in the Tianyun Galaxy. Before Anaya appeared, the Sacred Trees were almost withered. Now, there are only five Sacred Tree seeds left in the entire Tianyun Galaxy, which is extremely important to them.
However, they couldn't possibly let the Zerg give up this planet to them. The Zerg already controlled the majority of the North River system, and now that the Zerg only wanted two planets, Firefly and Twilight, it was practically like giving the North River system away for free.
Tianyun may not live on this planet, but their concern is that the Sacred Tree will be assimilated by the Zerg's energy.
Once a Zerg colony appears on a planet, its environment will be completely altered by the Zerg's energy after a few generations.
The Tianyun Galaxy did not discuss the ownership of this planet with the Zerg, because the planet already belonged to the Zerg. Now they were trying to figure out if they could move the sacred tree out.
Anaya and the other Holy Spirits are busy with this every day.
After listening to what Anaya said, Anno said, "You can discuss it with my mother. Our Zerg mainly live in Sivitro. This planet is more important to you. It doesn't matter if we move to another planet."
There are many planets in the Northern River system similar to Firefly Star. If the Sacred Tree really can't be moved, exchanging it with them wouldn't hurt.
But this still requires my mother's approval.
However, she felt that her mother would agree, not because of her relationship with Sister Nai, but because the Sacred Tree was too important to Tianyun. It was a matter of survival for the Tianyun human race, but this planet was dispensable to the Zerg.
It's understandable that the Zerg shouldn't be replaced, but this will lead to many unnecessary problems in the future.
Trading a planet for Tianyun would also earn you a favor; why not?
Anaya nodded: "Okay, I'll tell Erimos first, and then I and the other Holy Spirits will try again. If this sacred tree seed really can't be moved, we'll discuss with you about changing to another planet."
After hanging up the communication, Anno told Sevier about it in the consciousness network.
Sevier indicated that she already knew, and was just waiting to see when Tianyun would come to discuss it with her. She would then make a few requests as a token gesture.
"Come on, have a drink!"
Anno looked up and saw the other soldiers drinking with Hicks and the others.
Hicks had been an undercover agent on Capa, hanging out with those gangsters and thugs, so he must have been drinking a lot of alcohol.
But he only took a couple of sips before sitting back down next to them.
In the past, he was in the role of an undercover agent to complete his mission, and he was very restrained in doing things that could lead to mistakes, except for smoking.
However, Anno did not want to restrain herself.
The war has ended, and she's had some free time with nothing to do, so she's ready to drink to her heart's content.
"Hey, what are you guys doing standing here? Come on over and have a drink."
The crescent moon, carrying a wine bottle, beckoned to the several familiars standing in a row behind Anno.
Today it's Tanvel and Nightfall Bazel's turn to be punished on the Icefield, along with Secris, Whiteflame, and Obsidian Poponia.
Caesar remained in the abyss, punished with a month of confinement.
Secris and the others ignored the greeting from the crescent moon and remained standing straight behind Anno, watching her intently.
Anuo noticed the various kinds of wine on the table where Xianyue and the others were sitting, and the aroma of the wine made her mouth water.
The crescent moon accurately caught Anuo's gaze, raised an eyebrow, and stepped forward to invite her to join them at their table for drinks.
With just a few words, she pulled Karina over as well.
She was able to persuade Karina for a simple reason: they were playing some drinking games, and the loser had to drink and also suffer some punishment.
Karina always had a purpose in mind when it came to winning or losing, and that was the only thing she was truly interested in: winning.
Anno had seen them play similar games when she was at the base, but she wasn't very interested in them; she was more interested in alcohol.
As soon as she went over, Hicks and Cyrus followed.
The Zerg, Styx people, Tianyun people, and Yaori people gathered at a large table.
Seeing Anuo and the others arrive ignited everyone's fighting spirit and competitive drive.
The Zerg are the strongest among the Allied forces, but they never associate with them.
Someone took out a deck of transparent cards, a box of beads, and a small spinning wheel on the table.
The wheel listed various punishments, including drinking, taking off clothes, and some other fancy ones. These soldiers usually train hard and fight to the death on the front lines, but now they've relaxed and are having a blast.
"Take off your clothes, no way."
Hicks said he was going to deduct this item from the turntable.
"Hey hey hey!"
Everyone immediately reached out to stop them, saying, "The most daring thing here is taking off your clothes. Where did you come from, you old fogey, afraid to do this?"
Someone deliberately provoked him: "You're not afraid to play, are you?"
Hicks used to hang out with those rebel organizations, he'd seen it all, he'd done far more elaborate things than this, but Nono was still here, she was still a child.
Anno was already sitting there drinking.
Anno knew what Hicks was thinking when he saw the look Hicks was giving him.
She said, "It's alright, big brother, I'll watch you guys have fun."
The crowd immediately chimed in, "No way, you have to play if you're sitting here."
They had a natural fear of the Zerg Queen, but the young Queen in front of them was much less intimidating.
Secris and his group immediately swept their gazes coldly over them, and everyone looked away awkwardly when their eyes swept over them.
Anno turned and glanced at them. He couldn't spoil everyone's fun at this moment, so he told them to tone down their momentum and not scare them.
Seeing how enthusiastic everyone was, Anuo said, "Then I'll join too."
Hicks still objected, asking what would happen if Anno moved to the "undressing" category.
Secris said, "We will bear His Highness's punishment."
After he said that, Hicks had nothing to object to.
Anno first watched Hicks and the others play a few rounds. The box of beads was floating and rotating irregularly inside the plate. They were not allowed to use their powers and had to precisely control their strength to bounce the beads into holes that were about the same size as the beads.
This is part of military training. These balls may seem to move randomly, but they actually follow a pattern. You have to use your brain to calculate the trajectory based on this pattern.
It can only be calculated mentally, not using a computer.
This game is not easy; it is virtually impossible for someone who has not been trained to flick the ball into the hole.
Even if the trajectory of the ballistic missile is calculated, the force must be precisely controlled.
Hicks has been an undercover agent for years and hasn't played this game in a long time. He fired his first shot but failed to enter the cave.
Then the wheel landed on the punishment he most wanted to get rid of: taking off his clothes.
He smiled and casually took off his clothes.
Indoor temperature, except for those wearing combat suits, most people wear no more than two layers of clothing.
He was wearing a jacket over a fitted vest.
Sitting next to him, Upper Crescent Moon looked at the muscles on his arms and raised an eyebrow. "You've got a great physique."
As he spoke, he couldn't resist touching it.
