Chapter 401: Able to Eat My Fill
Anno, her mouth still full of meat, turned to look at Caesar, holding up the meat in her hand and said, "I like it..."
Caesar: "Then I want to be the vanguard!"
Anno swallowed the meat in his mouth and added, "I like it, meat."
Sitar pushed his bowl in front of Anno, "Anunu, here's some meat for you."
Anno laughed, "You're so kind."
Caesar pursed his lips and pushed his own bowl in front of Anno as well.
Seeing that the two were about to start arguing again, Mingxiao brought the whole pot of meat to the table, saying, "There's plenty of food, enough to fill you up."
After they finished eating, the three little queen insects huddled together in front of the fireplace to warm themselves. Mingxiao noticed that none of them had any clothes to wear, so he wrapped them all in blankets and asked Axun to look after the three little queen insects while he went to borrow clothes from other residents. He figured that with so many children in town, it wouldn't be difficult to borrow a set of clothes.
He was still worried when he went out, so he simply took the three little queen beetles with him.

He curled his tail around her and let her ride on his back. Then he took a big chunk of meat from the snow deer he had hunted that day and carried her out.
Mingxiao picked up Caesar and Sitar, but Sitar struggled to get off him, saying, "I want to walk by myself!"
As she spoke, she wrapped herself in a blanket and followed Ah Xun.
Mingxiao and Caesar exchanged a glance. "Vanguard Lord, are you also going to walk by yourself?"
Caesar: "No, he's an idiot, and it's cold and uncomfortable to walk on the ground."
As he spoke, he instructed Mingxiao to place him on Axun. Axun, with its keen ears, glanced at him and immediately draped its tail over the empty space behind it.

Mingxiao followed Axun to a courtyard. Axun knocked on the door with its tail, and soon a boy of about ten years old came out to open it.

A woman came out of the house, paused for a moment when she saw their group, and said to the only tall man in the house, "Wow, young man, you have so many kids."
She was speaking standard interstellar language, which Mingxiao could understand without a translator.
Mingxiao quickly waved his hands: "No, they are not my children, they...they are..."
The woman smiled and waved, indicating that it didn't matter what it was. "What are you doing here?"
Mingxiao said, "I wanted to ask if you have any clothes that they can wear."
Ah Xun put the meat he was carrying in his mouth on the ground, indicating that he would exchange it for meat.
The woman picked up the meat and said with a smile, "There's plenty, come in."
Inside the room, Anuo was holding a huge pickled sour fruit and gnawing on it. Her face was scrunched up from the sourness, but she still wanted to keep eating.
The woman found three sets of clothes for the dolls, held them up in front of Anuo, and then dressed her in them one by one.
Seeing Anuo's sour expression, he smiled and patted her head: "Is it delicious?"
Anno swallowed the fruit with difficulty: "...Sour." But it tasted strangely delicious.
The woman laughed and said, "It's so sour, I won't eat it."
Anuo shook her head and nibbled on the fruit in small bites.
The woman dressed her, looking her over and exclaiming, "How did you give birth to such a beautiful child?"
Mingxiao finished dressing Caesar and Sitar, thanked the family, and prepared to take Anno and the others back.
The woman took out some homemade jerky and snacks and packed some for him, saying, "Take these back for the children. You seem to be new here; raising three children isn't easy."
Mingxiao thanked her again and walked out with the three little queen insects.
This time, none of the three would let her be hugged. Anunu was still holding that sour fruit and munching on it, her face scrunching up with every bite. Mingxiao, seeing her smiling face, bent down and said to her, "Your Highness, if you can't eat anymore, we won't eat anymore."
Anno handed him the fruit: "Have a bite too."
Mingxiao opened her mouth and took a bite, feeling as if her teeth were about to fall out from the sourness. She struggled to swallow it.
After Anno finished feeding him, she saw Caesar staring at her longingly, while Sitar tugged at her hem like a tail.
"Here, one bite each."
Caesar took a bite, and the sour taste made him grab his hair and spit it out with a "Yue!" He collapsed to the ground in pain, the sour taste still lingering in his mouth even after he had vomited it out.
Sitar instinctively felt this was dangerous food, but when Anunu held it to his lips, he took a bite anyway.
Then, he suddenly clutched his cheeks and knelt on the ground in the same painful posture as Caesar.
Anuo watched their reactions, took another bite of the sour fruit, wrinkled her face, and left them behind. "Is it really that sour?"
"Mother is right, the male insect king is useless."
Hmm? No, did her mother say that? Oh, who is her mother?
Never mind, what should I eat for the next meal?
